1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

4. AccuVision Review: The Verdict

It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

If you are reading this and you are thinking about laser eye surgery please please go and have it done here at Accuvision. I was extremely short sighted minus 7 in both eyes, on top of which I had astigmatism in both eyes. Simon and the team were fantastic and made me feel so very comfortable I felt I was in good hands I went for the consultation on the Monday and on the following Saturday had the surgery. (not long to wait) On the day of surgery I was a bit apprehensive, but honestly there was nothing to be frightened of not only was it totally pain free, the whole procedure took about 5 minutes from start to finish. It was uncomfortable having the eye drops put in to numb my eyes and this felt a little bit like getting soap in your eyes, but other than that totally and utterly pain free. (Believe me I am a total baby when it comes to pain) Afterwards I wore dark glasses on the way home but kept having a sneaky look around them, I had to keep my eyes closed as much as possible for the rest of the day so I just rested on the settee at home. The next morning when I woke up I looked out of the window and I could see the numberplate on the car across the street, after having my check up that day I already had 20/20 vision. I had read that sometimes night sight takes a little longer to get use to but this wasn't the case for me I could see straight away. I now have much better eyesight than I had with my contact lenses, and no glasses which is amazing. Thank you so much Accuvision.

Very professional and kind from the first meeting right through to my check-ups. Everyone was very helpful and explained everything in full with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The clinic was easy to find, clean and comfortable. Am so thrilled with the results of my surgery and have been recommending them to everyone! Thanks!

I had been considering laser eye surgery for several years but fears over the cost and the treatment held me back. Accuvision was not the first clinic I visited but it stood out among it's competitors. The professionalism and knowledge was excellent at the initial consultation. It was not a hard choice to go with Accuvision. I have been delighted with choosing them. Pre-surgery information was superb, the procedure was pain free, I felt I was in the hands of experts and the post-surgery care was first rate. My eyes healed quickly and I have been left with better than 20:20 vision - far beyond my expectations. The 10 month 0% finance option made having life changing treatment affordable. I would unreservedly recommend the treatment to any that are currently sitting on the fence as I was once. It really does make a huge difference to everyday life!

It is the best thing I have done in my life - life without contact lenses is truely a gift. I had a very high prescription at -8.5 and I think the worst part for me was the consultation as it would have been at this point they would have told me if I could or could not have the treatment - the rest was a breeze remarkably enough - the procedure painless and for the next couple of days my eyes felt gritty but nothing more and by 2 days after the op I had perfect vision. My partner is now going to have his eyes done in the new year. This is the only clinic I would allow him to go to with their expertise and technology any other clinic does not measure up and your eyes are something not to be scrimped on

I have been wearing glasses since I was 15; The smallest things I could not do without glasses or lenses, such as checking the time in the middle of the night or seeing which bus is coming, or not be able to have a good swim and see at the same time. I was really annoyed with glasses especially that I started to develop a skin rash because I was allergic to plastic. I have changed glasses so many times, so it was time to move on to contact lenses. For a while I thought everything was ok while I was using lenses but I soon have discovered that lenses are night mare for my eyes. It was uncomfortable, itchy and my eyes got infected several times unexpectedly. Of course years have passed by and I always feared surgery or even laser treatment. But last year my mum has surprised me and she took me to Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic in London. The team was very supportive and I was told every little detail of the procedure and what can happen after the laser treatment. It was very comforting that I could ask any questions and have a check up from time to time to see how my eye sight is progressing. On the day of the surgery, I felt very nervous but the team was great and literally held my hand while the laser treatment took place. The surgery was uncomfortable but their patience and kind talk made me feel much better. The team is really professional and very helpful; I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. When the next day I have opened my eyes all I could think of that I have got my perfect vision back, which I did not have since I was 15. It is worth every penny and to be honest if anybody thinks of what silliness we spend most of our money on, this is compared to it nothing. I have no words to describe how does it really feels when you have your perfect vision back. I am lucky because I know. Thank you Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

I had worn glasses from the age of 8 and my prescription before the surgery was -5 and -6. I couldn't function without my glasses or contact lenses. I had considered laser eye surgery over the years but the prospect of messing with my eyes was daunting - better short sighted than blind - right? Two family members had successful surgery at the Solihull Accuvision. Hearing about their amazing results gave me the push to make an appointment to find out more. I walked into the initial consultation feeling very apprehensive but right from the start I was put at ease. There was no sales pressure, just facts. I made the decision to go ahead as soon as I left the consultation. On the day itself, the calm, efficient atmosphere put me completely at ease. The staff gave me every confidence, being both reassuring and efficient. The surgery took 10 minutes, was pain free and just so easy. As soon as I sat up from the surgery I could see an improvement in my vision, and as the hours went by I continued to see an improvement. After 24 hours my vision was near 20:20 and at the 4 week check it was better than 20:20. Two months on I can honestly say the surgery has been life changing, worth every penny - and the price really isn't that high, especially when you consider the cost over the years of contact lenses, and glasses with the cost of thin lenses for high prescriptions, not to mention cleaning solutions, prescription sunglasses, eye tests etc. Make an appointment today. You won't regret the amazing feeling that comes with being able to see when you open your eyes each morning!

I have worn glasses since I was 7, and wish I had known about Accuvision years ago. I was originally put off by my optician who said I was too short sighted (-11 with astigmatism) for treatment. Due to my age, I also now needed reading glasses.
Last summer I was getting fed up with juggling various kinds of contact lens, varifocals, reading glasses, swimming goggles and scuba mask. I could no longer wear contact lens for longer than about 10 hours and the varifocals were making my eyes very tired. I decided that even some improvement would be great, so I went to see Accuvision.
I was given a thorough eye exam. Due to my age (51) and corneal thickness (average) I was advised that lens replacement would produce a much better result than laser treatment.
I opted for a toric lens replacement, which would also correct the astigmatism. One eye would be slightly long sighted and one eye slightly short sighted so that I could see both distance and near to without having to resort to glasses.
The operations (8 days apart) were very quick (15 mins) with only a little discomfort. I wore an eye patch overnight and the next day I could see very well. My eyes adapted very quickly to the long/short focussing and continued to improve for several weeks after the operations.
The end result has been far beyond my expectations. I can see further than I have ever done and still read food labels in poor light and colours are much brighter. The freedom from juggling lenses, glasses and tired eyes is marvellous. When doing water and other active sports, I no longer have the worry of contact lens or glasses or tired eyes.
Thank you Accuvision.

I first considered laser eye surgery several years ago but was put off after visiting one of Accuvision's 'competitors' that advertise laser eye surgery from £395 per eye. When I came out of this consultation the costs had risen to £3,800 and I had been subject to a bit of a sales job. Having decided to revisit laser eye surgery following a discussion in the pub on how glasses and contact lenses both compromised my and a mates respective hobbies (mine mountain biking and skiing, his golf). I did the usual web based research and became more and more impressed with Accuvision's reviews and honest pricing strategy. As a result I decided to book a consultation and visited the Wetherby clinic on 25th September 2010. The experience was completely different from my previous consultation. Simon's approach is both professional and friendly, providing clients with a confidence in the ability of a highly professional team. The pricing strategy is clear and there was absolutely no 'hard sell' with clients left to ponder and reflect before taking a decision on whether to proceed. I decided to proceed at the consultation and booked straight away. My friend spent a few days considering whether to proceed but also ended up booking surgery. We both had surgery on 13th October. My prescription was -3.5 in both eyes; his was somewhere in the region of -6 and -7. We both opted for the Accuwave Lasik laser eye treatment, selecting 'mono vision' providing a balance between the benefits of correcting our 'short sighted' prescription whilst helping with reading etc. The surgical team were excellent and took time to answer questions and provide calm reassurance throughout the procedure. The most painful part of the procedure was inserting the anaesthetic drops although the pressure applied before the flap is cut and the cutting of the flap is slightly disconcerting. As most testimonies will state, the impact is immediate, albeit slightly 'foggy' at first (a bit like looking through goggles underwater). After 15 minutes sitting quietly I was assessed by a member of the surgical team and departed for home wearing sunglasses and with the advice of resting my eyes as much as possible for the remainder of the day and evening and with a bottle of eye drops that needed to be applied hourly. On waking the next morning my eyes were feeling dry. This was quickly remedied through an application of the drops, which I continued to apply hourly until I revisited the clinic (24 hours after treatment). At the follow up session my contact lens 'bandages' were removed and Simon rechecked my vision, which was already better than needed to pass a driving test and likely to improve further over the next two to three months. 10 days later and I have just attended my follow up session. My eyes are now starting to feel more 'normal' and less tired, although they do still feel a bit dry if I spend a lot of time on a computer. I have been extremely pleased with the whole Accuvision experience (quality and value for money) and I cannot speak highly enough of the team and the results that both I and my friend have experienced on day one. If you are considering laser eye treatment I recommend a consultation with Accuvision. Many of my concerns were dispelled at the consultation and whilst testimonies are reassuring there is no substitute for being able to discuss your particular concerns directly. Finally I would like to thank the team at Leeds/Wetherby. Your reassurance and honest, accessible and friendly approach has made a huge difference to the overall experience.

I felt i must post a testimonial for all those people who feel they are too nervous to have laser surgery. If you have got as far as reading these then please don't let nerves put you off. After a couple of nasty eye infections, i decided that i'd had enough of contact lenses. I booked a consultation at Accuvision with Simon Falk the Optometrist at Wetherby. I found him professional and reassuring, taking the time to explain things in layman terms, ready to answer any questions or concerns. It has been almost a week now since i have had surgery, and i was a quivering nervous wreck on the day, but the whole team took great care of me, they understand how daunting an experience it is for most people, even managing to make me laugh at one point! The surgery is pain free, and you are pretty much unaware of what the surgeons are doing, all you have to do is concentrate on a green light, and it takes only minutes. On the way home i could not stop smiling, i had done it, and had been worrying needlessly. I now have better than 20/20 vision. The aftercare service is excellent, post surgery appointments are not rushed. Finally i would like to thank the whole team at Accuvision. I really cannot recommend them enough.

I had laser surgery at Accuvision in 2002, when I was 39. I was very shortsighted, -12 and -12.50 and even the best glasses or contact lenses, at the time, would not longer allow me the quality of vision and comfort that I had when I was younger. I really was resigned to a life of subpar vision. Laser surgey at Accuvision changed all that. Almost instantly after the operation I had a very good vision in total comfort. Most importantly, it has stayed so after all these years. I have been amazed daily with my good eyesight all this time. Surely I may be able to pinpoint some flaws in my vision, but they are minor. Also, I would have worse issues when I was wearing glasses. All in all, I am very thankful to Accuvision for their results with my demanding case and for their great help and excellent customer service.
