1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

I had a high prescription, of -6.50 in both eyes, so wanted to do my research carefully. After being recommended by 2 friends, I did a consultation with Accuvision. They were far more impressive and knowledgeable than Optimax and they did not try and push the surgery, or try to offer a variety of extras and options, like other competitors. They use a slightly older technology, which is more reliant on surgeon skill, which I liked and appreciated. The day of the surgery went perfectly well, they did another pre-check before the operation with the surgeon himself. The operation was completely painless, and it just felt like watching a multicoloured laser light show. After the surgery, vision was of course hazy for the next day, then got better day by day. After a couple of weeks, I was seeing better than 20/20 EVERY day with no haziness at all. Night time vision takes a little longer to be 100% normal after having had such a high prescription, but this is normal. Now, almost 2 months on, my night vision is 90% ok, and is fully comfortable to drive and live a normal life. I wish I had done this sooner. I was concerned about the safety and impact on my eyes, since I work on a trading floor with 4 screens daily. I didn't need to be concerned at all, Accuvision are a superb choice! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you want to ask me anything.

I will be honest, I would only have had my eyes treated at Accuvision, because my husband Simon is the Optometrist and clinic manager in Wetherby. At first I wasn't going to post a testimonial. But now 3 months on, I cannot describe how good things are without my glasses and contact lenses. On holiday i could swim without fuss, i can see the alarm clock at night, all the things people who don't wear correction, so take for granted. But the thing I feel I must stress is that I was treated NO differently to any other patient on surgery day, despite being known to everyone. The treatment is painless, quick and recovery was amazing. I was -5.50 with some astigmatism. The fact that everyone at Accuvision is prepared to treat their loved ones really does speak volumes for the technology and confidence in their abilities. I never doubted for one moment it wouldn't be successful, but I have been amazed at just how good it is! Thank you all.

My treatment at Accuvision has been outstanding. I now have 20:20 vision from a prescription of -8.75 and -9.0. I couldn't have ever dreamed of having crystal clear vision and so painlessly. The way I have been looked after by the clinic has been absolutely brilliant and I have always been treated as an individual. With such a bad prescription I didn't think I would be able to have surgery so I originally attended just to confirm that it wasn't going to be possible. But after the check up and surgery became a reality I decided to proceed. It's such a straightforward process you wonder why you worried about it! I haven't had any problems after surgery, some halos around lights for the first few weeks, but nothing of any significance. After surgery it did take a couple of days to see clearly so I was apprehensive about how successful it had been, but by day two I woke up to wonderful clear vision. If you are thinking of surgery and have a high prescription then I would totally recommend Accuvision. Best thing I have ever done!

I first noticed difficulties with my eye sight approximately 4 and a half years ago and have been attending a variety of opticians since however I seemed unable to find a solution to my poor eye site. I went for a hospital appointment with the NHS 4 years ago following some concerns at the opticians and was advised by the ophthalmologist that I had regular astigmatism and I would need glasses or contacts. Since then I have tried a variety of different contact lenses both soft and rigid however the vision provided was generally worse than my natural vision. I also attended 2 previous laser clinics and was advised I wasn't suitable for regular laser surgery however no further problems were identified. In August of this year, 2010, I decided to see if I was suitable for Laser Surgery one last time and noticed Accuvision through a search on the internet. On attending an appointment in August I was advised by an understanding and very helpful consultant I had a condition called Keratoconus and it was quite far advanced in my left eye. The consultant, Mr Nick Dash, explained the condition in detail and advised I would need some form of treatment. He described a new procedure, Collagen Cross Linking with Laser, which can stop the degeneration of the condition and the consequential decrease in quality of vision. The consultant suggested I took some time to consider my decision in regards to the surgery. I just had my left eye operated on yesterday and the surgery, although a strange experience, was painless and the surgery team were all very kind and answered all the questions I had during the procedure. Since I left yesterday I have suffered little if any pain and after attending for the follow up appointment have been advised that I'm healing well and the surgery has gone really well. I have to say that for me there was little choice in relation to whether to allow my eye sight to significantly worsen or have the CCL procedure to stop and hopefully improve my vision; I'm glad I made that decision and can't wait to get my right eye done. So far I'm very pleased with Accuvision.

I have recently had laser treatment at the Solihull branch and am so pleased with the result that I have been 'spreading the word' to all my friends. In fact one of them has already had her eyes done! After a few weeks I had better distance vision than with my £450 glasses and had clearer vision on the computer with £4.99 off the peg reading specs. I would recommend a consultation to anyone who is considering laser treatment. There is no 'hard sell' and everyone is so helpful and efficient.

I had worn glasses/contact lenses for nearly 50 years, with a high prescription. About 10 days ago I had the AccuWave Lasik Laser Eye Surgery treatment and I can honestly say it has changed my life, I did not believe my sight would be this good. My thanks to all at Solihull for the care and attention I received, particularly Nick for pre-op care and after care, and to Becky for all her help.

My profile - age 52 prescription +5.5 in each eye to correct normal vision & reading +7.5 in each eye. The rationale for corrective treatment was simple I had tried varifocals and found these dangerous, so was using 2 sets of spectacles one for day to day use and one for reading. This impacted my life i.e giving presentations at work was difficult not seeing the screen when reading my notes and vice versa, having to inter change glasses. Like many others thought maybe I was too old or too long-sighted to be treated, spent 6 months thinking about laser treatment, hours surfing the net looking at forums some good ones but including some real horror stories. So took the plunge and met the team in London for my consultation, yes a team they all worked together and were very professional. The comprehensive examination confirmed my suitability for 2 possible options, lens implant or laser treatment and at this stage Daryus entered the picture and carefully guided me through the decision process. There was no pressure at all. Surgery took place on 16/04/2009, the team were very professional at reassuring the patient, can honestly say I felt no pain just a degree of uncomfort as it's not everyday someone is fiddling with your eyes, so no surprise. I was talked through the procedure and a nice touch was someone held my hand throughout. As I sat up after the procedure, the surgeon asked if I could see the clock on the wall...yes... I could even tell the time and before surgery I couldn't. For convenience I stayed at a hotel overnight, a mere 5 minutes by taxi, went to the room closed the blackout blinds, some interesting sensations in both eyes and adhered to the hourly drop prescription. Went back the next day to have the bandage contact lenses removed and an examination of the eyes, everything was fine. The period of healing was almost exactly what the team had carefully explained, the first month was difficult and it was important to pace the number of hours in front of the computer or reading/writing emails/sms on the mobile but slowly day by day the vision become clearer and I have 20/20 vision. From a practical perspective there has been a quantum change in my life...I can see unaided without spectacles....so anyone considering eye correctional treatment should put Accuvision at the top of the list and my sincere thanks to the team for the professionalism and personal touch.

I had my procedure in December 2009, and I am so pleased with my sight, it is so much clearer now than when I wore glasses/contact lenses. I went for my consultation on the Monday and the earliest available date was the Wednesday of that same week (my husband told me to go for it - the sooner I had the op, the sooner I would be able to see! and this was two weeks before Christmas). So I signed up there and then. The whole team at Wetherby are wonderful and I was so at ease with everyone, the way the surgeons talk you through everything that is going on in the theatre is particularly reassuring. Simon is so helpful and easy to speak to in all the consultations and knowing that most of the employees have had the surgery makes you feel that they know what they are talking about. I recommend Accuvision at Wetherby to everybody that I speak to (even if they don't wear glasses!). If you are thinking of having laser surgery on your eyes - I will tell you to definitely have it done as you will not regret it. Not having to reach for your glasses on a morning is the best feeling in the world. I now take it for granted that I can see and wearing glasses/contact lenses is a very distant memory.
