1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

After being too much of a wimp for several years to have corrective surgery, i finally got the guts to do it. What a fantastic, enlightening and literally eye opening experience and the results are amazing. Thank you so much

I would like to say a big THANK YOU to the team at Accuvision for restoring my vision which I thought was beyond repair on one of my eyes. My prescription pre surgery was -23 in my left eye and -10 in my right eye. Due to my very high prescription the surgery which suited me best was lens implant surgery. This was explained to me in my initial consultation. I'd like to mention that there was no pressure what so ever after my free consultation to go ahead with the surgery. Accuvision provided all the information I needed and answered all my questions, they were there to support me before, during and after surgery. My prescription post surgery is -1.25 in my left eye and -1 in my right eye. I would definately recommend Accuvision to anybody considering having there vision corrected. Thanks again Accuvision for changing my life.

7 days ago I could not see without wearing glasses, today i have 20;20 vision and can see everything, it really is amazing!!!! Before having laser surgery at Accuvision i went for a consultation at what i thought was a leading specialist in Lasik surgery to be told "you can't have surgery your diabetic" and with that i was swiftly ushered out of his room without an explanation. I got back into my car and made my way home obviously very upset as i had built myself up for the appointment. when i got home i went straight back on to the internet and came across Accuvision. I went onto the website where i was able to have a live chat with Vikash. I explained that i was an insulin diabetic and had been for 23yrs and that i was prescribed insulin 4 times a day i also informed him that i was epileptic, Vikash did't seem concerned and said that they had done surgery on diabetic patients before, he arranged for me to have a consultation with Nick (optemetrist)After attending the consultation and being told that i could go ahead with the surgery i breathed a huge sigh of relief and left the clinic afterwhich i decided to book myself in for the surgery. On the day of surgery i turned up at Accuvision and was greeted by Becky and went and sat in the waiting room, i then had another eyetest and waited my turn. I had the surgery with excellent results and today i attended my follow up appoinment where it was confirmed that the surgery had been a great success. Accuvision have provided me with a new lease of life and i recommend that if you want Lasik surgery then Accuvision is the team to use, not only are they very professional they provide a specialist service with experts in eye care. So, any diabetics out there who are been told they cant have Lasik surgery then go to the real specialists at Accuvision because im sure that you will not be disappointed! I will certainly be recommending Accuvision to all of my friends, and as my dad always says you pay for what you get and with Accuvision i received an exceptional service with results that i could only have dreamed of.

After wearing glasses for 19 years i decided to have laser eye surgery, but thought it would be impossible as i have a very strong prescription and most places have turned me down before. But Accuvision were able to provide me with laser eye surgery and said that this was an everyday operation on me. I was so pleased and went for laser eye surgery. Here i am now afterwards absolutely fine and can see better than before. It only took 8 minutes for the operation and i did not feel any pain, as this is what i was scared of before. The whole team are so friendly and helpful and all know who you are and making sure that you are fine. I would defiantly recommend Accuvision to anyone with glasses. Thanks again to Accuvision.

Had a blip the first time as machine was down and appt got cancelled, however, didn't mind too much as safety must come first. I have always found everyone at the Accuvision clinic helpful and courteous. I am very happy with the care I have received and delighted with my better than 20/20 vision! The team were fabulous. The day of the laser eye surgery was a bit scary but the procedure is over in minutes. It took a few days for the eyes to heal properly and they remained dry for about a month afterwards but the clarity of vision was excellent. One year on and I remain delighted with my decision to go ahead with the laser eye surgery. Thank you so much to all at Accuvison for their help.

01 Mar 2010

My life style had changed and after much deliberating (and gathering stories from friends and family) I took the plunge for laser eye surgery: 40 years of glasses and contact lenses was more than enough! Most web sites told me that my prescription of -6 plus a bit and a small astigmatism in both eyes would be suitable so it came down to 'go and see'. I had done my home work so much would come down to the general impression. I was the second patient at the Wetherby clinic and some creases still had to be ironed out. Having said that, the staff were more than friendly and I quickly felt at ease. The first consultation ended with the conclusion that my eyes were quite dry and there was a slight conjunctivitis although I felt no problems and it was decided to try some drops for a while to let the eye settle. The amount of (free) drops supplied was plenty. The second consultation was much later than planned (I got lost in the system and it took a while before I was contacted but due to personal circumstances that suited me fine so I didn't chase them up either) and we decided to go ahead with the procedure on the same day if all was ok. That decision caused some problems in an otherwise flawless route. Since we hadn't 'finished' the first consultation no treatment type had yet been decided so the finance option which has to be arranged prior to surgery could not be set up. It was agreed to do that on the day - but that London decision never reached my file in Wetherby. It also led to me having to chase up who my surgeon was going to be but that information was readily given once I asked. On the day itself the financing caused some more confusion but all promises were honoured and, with some improvising, eventually all was sorted. The contact with Simon and the surgeon Mr Prashant Jindaal was again pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient but relaxed. The chosen LASIK procedure was quick, painless and the effect astonishing. The next day the bandaging lenses were removed and I had already achieved driving standard vision. At the check up after 1 week my eyes were nearly achieving the 20/10 vision I had with contact lenses and the healing was so quick that the optometrist had to look twice to find the flap! I have had no pain, not even discomfort as such and was able to read, use the computer etc 2 days after surgery. Needless to say I am very happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend Accuvision.

I would Highly recommend Accuvision laser surgery to anyone wishing to ditch the glasses and lenses. I had the laser eye surgery in October 2008 and would never look back now, thanks to the great advice from Simon Falk at the Leeds clinic and surgeons at the Birmingham clinic where I originally had the surgery.

23 Feb 2010

Having been exceptionally shortsighted for all of my life and more recently having developed a reading prescription, I consulted Accuvision for laser eye surgery as the result of a recommendation by my ophthalmologist. I was treated with care and as an individual right from the start and all of the fears and concerns I had were allayed by the team. I had the procedure known as Monovision and it has been wonderful. The results are even better than I'd hoped for and I feel that I have been give a new life. I would thoroughly recommend Accuvision to anyone considering laser eye surgery, it is the best investment I've ever made.

A fantastic experience! Very friendly, no sales pressure at all. The technology is amazing (they talk you through every aspect) and the procedure itself was quite literally a zero pain process. No discomfort at all after the procedure. I had a severe (+5) astigmatism in both eyes which is now fixed. I've ditched my glasses - both for reading and long distance. Best thing I ever did.
