Mr Dimitri Kazakos performed by enhancement surgery in May 2009. I had the original procedure done in July 2008 and although it was a vast improvement and I didn't need glasses anymore, it just wasn't perfect. I deliberated whether to go for the re-enhancement and thank god I did! The results are fantastic. Mr Kazakos was very relaxing, played background music and very informative. I had no pain at any stage during or following the surgery and was able to watch Eastenders that night!! For anyone whose sight isn't perfect after the initial surgery, please do go and get the re-enhancement - its certainly worth it. My original vision was -5.00 in both eyes and is now +0.50 and -0.50. It is anticipated over the next few months both eyes will regulate to near 0.00.

I had Wavefront Intralase Lasik surgery last Wednesday (6th May) at the Harley Street Clinic. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and everyone was really friendly and put me at my ease. Mr Kazakos was wonderful, answering all my questions and he made me feel that I was in safe hands. The actual surgery took less than 10 minutes and I felt no pain at all. When we left the clinic 30 minutes post op my eyes were very watery and were stinging quite a bit in the light. I had my sunglasses on but felt that all I wanted to do was close my eyes. As we had a 2 hours journey home by train this was not that easy! I did manage to keep them closed though. On returning home I rested for 1 hour and after that my eyes felt fine. No more stinging or streaming. My near vision was very good but my distance was still quite blurry. When I went for my 24 hour check up I was told my eyes were inflamed and to use the anti-inflammatory drops every hour. I then had to return 2 days later. On that return I was told they were still inflamed and to carry on with the hourly drops and return again in 2 days. During this time my eyes felt absolutely fine although I was still having problems with distance vision although this is slowing improving day by day. I went back on Monday to be told to keep up the hourly drops and to use the lubricating drops hourly as well. I have to back tomorrow for my week check up and hopefully the inflammation will have gone down.Overall I am very pleased with the result although I am still waiting for the perfect distance vision that a lot of people seem to get immediately! I was told that as my prescription was quite high (7.5/6.5) that my distance vision would maybe take longer to return. Fingers crossed! I have also found that by the end of the day my eyes feel quite tired and my distance vision is worse than first thing in the morning. I would recommend Mr Kazakos and the Harley Street clinic to anyone considering surgery. It is amazing not to wear contact lenses or glasses after 20 plus years!

I had Refractive Lens Exchange Surgery with Multifocal Lenses carried out on my left eye on the 4/5/09 and on my right eye on the 7/5/09 by Mr Dimitri Kazakos at Colindale surgery in London, then my first inspection at Harley Street clinic on the first day after my surgery. I have been to Southampton Optical Express store for my first week inspection and I now have better than 20/20 vision. My treatment by Mr Dimitri Kazakos was first class he explained ever thing to me in full detail and his team was first class. I have had no pain with any of my surgery and very little discomfort since, I would recommend this to any one because I can now work on my computer without any glasses, also I do not need glasses for any other reasons. All I can say now is thank you to Mr Dimitri Kazakos.

i had my surgery on 17/5/09 in Belfast and am really pleased with the results. Mr Kazakos was an excellent surgeon . My prescription was -2.75 in one eye and -3.00 in the other. My vision is excellent and ive had no irritation since the procedure. I was very pleased all round and would recommend both this procedure and surgeon to all.

My surgeon was Dimitri Kazakos at Optical Express Cribbs Causeway. Its now 24hrs later and I have better then 20/20 vision from a prescription of -6.75 in both eyes with 0.25 astigmatism. Staff were great. Procedure had 2 lasers, one for the flap and once to burn off the cornea. Creating the flap really hurt even with anesthetic drops but only lasted about 30 seconds. They do the flaps on each eye first then the sight correction. The flap is cut at the top half of your eye approx a millimeter around your iris. Sight correction bit doesn't hurt at all. Apparently if you have sensitive eyes like me, you are more likely to have pain. The team in surgery were really nice. Afterward went to a dark room then got checked over and discharged. Definitely need someone to take you home. Don't rely on taxi or bus. Once home, eyes were streaming for hours. Had to stay in the dark and couldn't see properly. Went to bed for 2hrs with eye shields on then had a meal then was able to watch TV in darkened room with shades on. As evening wore on, eyesight kept improving. By midnight it was clear.Definitely worth doing even with the worry, streaming eyes and initial pain. Also take your own pain killers just in case, and a pair of shades that covers your whole eye including the sides as you'll need them when you leave. The drops can give you bad breath so have mints ready for your appointment the next day.Hope this account is helpful.

I had my surgery in the Cardiff branch of Optical Express by Mr Dimitri Kazakos. I was short sighted couldn't even see my 37 inch TV properly in detail at 6 feet distance and one day after the surgery I am on the computer approx 15 feet away from the TV at the other end of my living room and I can see the TV perfectly.I found Mr Kazakos to be pleasant and a comforting presence because I was very worried about this procedure and he brought my mind to ease.I found the other surgery personnel to be equally as pleasant and comforting. The procedure was painless but I have always been a bit of a wimp about my eyes and found it difficult to keep my eyes in position for the first eye but when I realised that it did not hurt it was a lot easier. When the procedure was over and Mr Kazakos came to speak to me and check my eyes after the short (approx 5 minutes) sit in the recovery room I felt I had to apologise for being difficult with the first eye he reassured me and said that I could not have done any more to help him which comforted meAlso the one follow up appointment I have had so far the Gentleman that attended to my check up was well informed and helpful.I am looking forward to being able to see in the swimming pool and not get drips on my glasses during rain, but already it has brought me confidence.I would like to add that all the staff at Optical Express are brilliant and the phones are answered promptly to deal with all your worries.Looking forward to the future with bright eyes Phillip HopkinOverall so far I have enjoyed the results of

Absolutely no complaints, 6 days on from the surgery, my eyesight is as good as it ever was with glasses, at this stage I just can't wait to get active again, after a week of taking it easy.Dmitri was excellent, very nice guy, very reassuring, and I obviously can't complain about the result as it seems to be perfect so far.As for the actual procedure, I wouldn't say it was painful, just a little uncomfortable for the few seconds of the microkeratome, and after that no pain at all from the excimer laser - my main problem was keeping my eyes still, it's very hard to concentrate on that little red dot for a long enough time.Within 10 minutes I was up to driving standard and having got a lift home, with 2 hours of the procedure, following a quick lie down, I was able to get up and watch tv.All I can say is thanks, I'm very pleased with everything. Just wish I had got it done before now.

I had eye correction surgery in Cardiff branch on Friday (it's now Tuesday) - my only regret is not having it done sooner. It was a pain-free and quick procedure, and was provided with plenty of reassurance and comfort through the whole process. The free consultation went smoothly and staff were great - very friendly and approachable. The day of surgery I spent approximately an hour and half in the branch, but it took only ten minutes to complete the correction surgery. The surgeon Dimitri Kazakos was very comforting and professional, however friendly and sensitive to my worries at the same time. I now have better than 20/20 vision - amazing. From a prescription of -3.75 in both eyes, constantly relying to on my specs and contacts, I cant describe how incredible I feel. I noticed a difference straight away and it keeps getting better. It is important to follow the post-op instructions with the eye drops and eye shields, but worth it.I was so unsure about getting this done - but highly recommend it. If in doubt go for it...it's the best thing I have ever done!
