Accuvision Laser Eye Clinic

I've been wearing glasses since I was 5 years old, and contact lenses since I was about 15. I'm almost 21 now, and had started to get fed up with planning my life around glasses and contacts. That's no exaggeration - if I wanted to go out on the Saturday night, I couldn't wear my lenses for a few days before in order to ensure my eyes would be ready. I went for a consultation at the London clinic, and everybody was so helpful, friendly and welcoming that I knew I had chosen the right place to have surgery. I booked for the 20th April 2011, and on surgery day, I was so nervous, and also quite frightened, but with the help of my very supportive parents, we took the trip to Parsons Green. I was instantly made to feel at ease and was looked after the whole way through the process. During the surgery, I spoke to the team around me which helped keep me at ease. If anybody has ever wondered what you can see during the surgery, I would describe it as a kaleidoscope; a mixture of colours going in and out of focus, nothing scary at all. The process DOESN'T hurt, and with just a little bit of dry eye in the few days after my surgery, I already have 20/20 vision and am enjoying life without the need for glasses or contacts. It was a big deal to me; I felt very self-conscious all of the time wearing glasses, so thank you very much Accuvision for a fantastic experience.

At 63 years of age, you sometimes have to get up in the night to visit the smallest room in the house. As I passed the radio alarm clock, without glasses, I would have to bend down and put my face right up to it to read the time. Now, after having implants inserted, I still have to get up some nights, but to find out the time, I just have to lift my head off the pillow and look at the clock. It is remarkable the difference it has made to my life. I can drive and read, two major factors in my life, without the need for spectacles - the first time in over twenty years. Accuvision were simply brilliant. At no time did I feel under pressure to agree to treatment, everything was explained in a language that I understood and all the staff were so very friendly. The operation to insert the lenses, was done on two separate days. I was a day patient in a London Hospital. It was no more uncomfortable than going to the dentist and each time I was back in the recovery room within half an hour. Fantastic service. Booked my free consultation for March 27th and had surgery on April 13th. Kim and Simon at the Wetherby clinic were very professional and courteous. Simon did a thorough examination of my eyes and due to my high prescription ( -6.5 and -6.0 and astigmatism) he decided I should have Wavefront Lasik customised for both eyes. He explained everything very clearly and also answered my questions and completely put me at ease. After the consultation there was no hard sell to book surgery there and then( unlike other competitors) and I decided that Accuvision would perform the surgery. Paid the £500 deposit and booked surgery for April 13th. On the day of the surgery everything went smoothly. Although the procedure itself is a very "weird" experience , I didn't feel any pain or discomfort. It was very similar to a laser light show! After surgery I could see straight away, although it was a little bit blurry. Went back the next day to have my lens bandage removed and my eyes had healed very well. 3 days after surgery I can see very clearly without any pain or discomfort. Accuvision have been superb from start to finish. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend this clinic enough! The customer service is outstanding and from the first moment you step into their clinic they make you feel welcome. The care they take before, during and after the treatment is superior. I have recommend it to 4 of my friends who have all had laser correction at Accuvision and are all very satisfied with the results. It was like a miracle performed so efficiently and professionally. I was 150% satisfied with the result but also with how well you get treated.

Both my wife and I were keen to explore the possibility of undertaking laser surgery to free ourselves of the need for glasses. Our research led us to Accuvision, and having met with Kim and Simon at the Wetherby (Leeds) clinic we looked no further. As with most organisations their most important asset is their staff and in Kim and Simon they have real gems. During the initial consultation Simon was extremely thorough and he took time to answer all our questions in simple, easy to understand language. Both of us required monovision correction. We were offered a demonstration of the expected outcome of surgery through the use of glasses. Without hesitation we both decided to go ahead. I would be lying if I said we weren't nervous on the day of surgery, but once again the attention to detail of all the staff was fantastic. We met the clinical team and we were immediately put at ease. Surgery was very quick and passed without pain. The clinical team talked you through the procedure and removed any fear of the process. We followed the guidelines of resting your eyes as much as possible for the first 24 hours after surgery. Once again there was no pain, just a mild discomfort which remained until the contact lens bandages were removed. The day after surgery we were able to drive. The monovision has taken a short time to get used to, and we have both managed to function effectively without the need for glasses. We are now 6 weeks after surgery and it is surprising how quick you adapt to the fact that your eyes have been adjusted to different focal lengths. We would have no hesitation in recommending Accuvision to anyone else. The service that we received was as exceptional as the results we both received.

I walked in with -8.50 prescription along with astigmatism in both eyes and now have 20/20 vision. I can see the alarm clock on the bedside table without glasses for the first time in over 20 years. And I never felt pressured or uninformed. The staff at Accuvision were caring and helpful and I am so glad I chose them.
