1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Original prescription: Right eye: -4.00D with 0.50D astigmatism Left eye: -1.75D with -2.00D astigmatism.
After consultations with other providers I was disillusioned as it seemed eye surgery was a marketing exercise! After looking to see what else was available further afield we found Accuvision.
The difference was evident from first walking into the waiting room – professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Unlike other clinics where surgery type had been left to me to decide based on the cost, some clear guidance was given – with an explanation why. The ‘signing up’ part wasn’t pressured, the cost was the same as elsewhere, (without ‘this week only’ special offers) and there was a range of surgery dates.
The surgery itself was quick, painless and with a lot of reassurance when nerves were evident! The aftercare was also good. Accuvision was well worth traveling a little further for – the service and experience are head and shoulders above the mainstream providers.
My vision is better now than it was with contact lenses and I’d recommend Accuvision to anyone considering laser eye surgery.

Laser eye surgery is the best decision I have ever made. After a disasterous consultation elsewhere I found Accuvision and have been blown away since I arrived. My prescription was a tricky +4.00 hyperopia with -5.50 astigmatism and they fixed it no problem! I am so happy with my new vision. I would highly recommend Accuvision to anyone.

At first I was thinking of going with Accuvision for my surgery purely on the competitive prices they had. It was only when I went for my consultation when I realised they were definitely the most reliable and professional eye surgery clinic on offer. I had been to consultations with other companies and I felt that I had met more salesmen than I had actual professionals on the day. One particular company even tried to tempt me to book it ASAP so I could save a further 10% on top of my NHS discount, which is absolute nonsense when it's life altering and irreversible surgery that you're considering. With Accuvision this was not the case at all. The Optometrist fully explained the procedure required for my prescription and answered any questions. There was an incident where one company had said I wasn't suitable to have Lasik treatment whereas Accuvision said I was. This other company stated that if something was to go wrong then I couldn't get any re-treatment. I voiced my concern to Accuvision and the Optometrist explained that the only reason for this is the difference in the equipment each company uses, as they have to work around safety guidelines in regards to your eye's corneal thickness. But Accuvision were also very concerned how the other company told me what would happen "If it was to go wrong", which is an excellent point. The surgery was quick and almost completely painless, a moment of discomfort in each eye and it's done. My eyes have healed perfectly and have had no problems at all. I would highly recommend Accuvision for professional and affordable service.

I had all my treatment done at the Kings Road place. The consultation went very well and I as offered a very good price I think of £700 per eye. The surgery day did not go very well though. I was introduced to the Surgeon, Samreen Uppal, on the day of surgery but, for some reason, some one else (who wasn't properly introduced) did the talking before the surgery and then someone else (another person) did the explaining during the surgery. The fact that I was being given very vague instructions during the procedure and that the surgeon herself hardly spoke at all made me very stressed and I even had to raise my voice during the surgery to ask exactly what I was supposed to be doing. It may have been the surgeon's first day at this place, and for all I know she may have been very good, but I expected the surgeon to say more and the fact is that she didn't. The after-care appointments have all been fine and I think the surgery has gone well so overall I'm quite happy.

It was 3 years ago that I walked down the stairs into the London clinic for the first time. Now I'm back again with my girlfriend while she undergo's laser eye surgery herself. Following my laser eye surgery I have started playing hockey again and have embraced the experience of not having to wear glasses. I now wish Tara, my girlfriend the same life changing experience that I have enjoyed. I'm pleased to say that after a quick check-up today (while Tara recovered from her surgery) I have been told that my eyes haven't changed and 20:20 vision remains. Thank you Accuvision from the both of us.

*** So as to provide a balanced view this posting has been edited with comments received from Accuvision - No further correspondence or response will be allowed due to the time that has lapsed since the consultation Mr Tomlinson had with Accuvision back in 2009 - Thank you to Accuvision for their prompt response to this posting - Lasik-Eyes*** Posting made July 2012 by: Michael Francis Tomlinson I will give the following details of my experience at Accuvision. I contacted Accuvision in Solihull in June 2006 to find out if they could help me with my eyesight. I had lasik with Ultralase to both eyes in Dec' 2000 and had a huge starburst from light sources and ghosting from their surgery. I had a consultation during which Accuvision's optometrist asked me if I wanted to have a wavefront treatment to one eye to see if it improves my vision. We then saw their surgeon Brett Halliday who examined me and the data/scans and he said " The problem is your brain's forgotten what good quality vision is" and he said he would do a wavefront procedure to both eyes involving the cutting of new flaps. He sounded quite confident and gave NO WORD OF CAUTION WHATSOEVER AS TO THE OUTCOME so I decided to go ahead with surgery. This took place in Sep' 2006. The morning after surgery I was being driven back up to Solihull and still noticed exactly the same vision problems and I thought immediately that what they'd done had done nothing to sort out my problems. At initial followup appointments I was told by clinic manager Nick Dash not to worry as "It will get there". It never did. £2400 spent for nothing. I still saught a cure for my vision problems and in early 2007 I saw Sheraz Daya at The Centre for Sight in London. I had scans etc then he examined me. He informed me that I had striae/microfolds in both corneas and I was shocked to say the least as Accuvision made no mention of these at any time that I saw them. With second flaps having been cut he did not want to touch my eyes as it's bad enough with one flap present let alone two. He could not help me in any way. I subsequently found out that these striae/folds are a known cause of the exact vision problems that I have. I later saw Julian Stevens at Moorfields. He was horrified that Accuvision had cut second lasik flaps. He studied their data and told me Accuvision had cut their flaps deeper than the originals. but he couldn't help me either. I saw Prof' Dan Reinstein at The London Vision Clinic in early 2009 to find out if he could help. After many consultations which included ultrasound scans of my corneas he concluded that the striae/folds must be the cause of my vision problems. The ultrasound scans show irregularities in the outer flaps with the inner ones barely visible. I formally complained to Accuvision in 2009 about their treatment on me as the evidence points to them having carried out a completely wrong procedure that had no chance of working. I went to Accuvision in Solihull in June 2009 and had a meeting with clinic manager Nick Dash and medical director Chad Rostron. I showed them the ultrasound scans of my corneas and when I said their flaps were the inner ones they both immediately said their flaps had been cut superior (further out) to the first (Ultralase) ones. This was and is an outright LIE. The medical evidence points to the exact opposite of what they said. Julian Stevens and Ming Wang in the USA both e-mailed me to say that it is normal procedure for second flaps to be cut deeper and Mr Stevens verbal testimony is quite telling. I somehow managed not to go completely ballistic at being lied to by a couple of so called health professionals. Dash was looking very uncomfortable at this point and suggested to Rostron that he "should ring London".(Head Office). This was immediately dismissed by Rostron. They both sat there like a couple of spivs who'd got my money and didn't care about me having no benefit at all from what they'd done. I could have possibly had the original flaps lifted and smoothed back down to help my vision but Prof' Reinstein said this would be unwise with second flaps being present so not only did Accuvision perform a completely wrong op but what they did has prevented me from having a possible cure for my vision problems being carried out. Accuvision were in no way capable or qualified to help a post lasik complication case like me but ripped me off to the tune of £2400 for NOTHING. I would be fully prepared to repeat anything I've said about Accuvision under oath and would also take a polygraph test which Dash and Rostron would FAIL if they repeated their statement of which were their lasik flaps. I've had 6 more years of misery with poor quality vision as a result of what Accuvision did. I post this warning " SHOULD YOU TRUST YOUR EYES TO A CLINIC THAT LIES ". *** The following response has been provided by Accuvision** Despite Mr Tomlinson comments and opinions sought by a number of sources over a number of years he has failed to present a case with any sound legal recourse. Accuvision have helped facilitate this by providing scans and appropriate data promptly at every stage. Mr Tomlinson has admitted that he is no worse off visually than he was before the treatment at Accuvision but feels that he has not benefited either. Unfortunately no surgical outcome can be guaranteed, particularly with complex re-treatments. Mr Tomlinson has good vision as demonstrated by objective measurements in visual acuity and aberrometry (wavefront measurements) up until he has been under our care in 2009. These measurement are used as a standard throughout our specialist field of Refractive Surgery. The reported VISUAL symptoms are not consistent with the measurements that we have provided. The details of his clinical care and his scans have been forwarded to Mr. Tomlinson in order that he can see the outcome and to facilitate second opinions. He has subsequently sought the comments of other Clinicians, although these are contradictory to the Surgical events that have taken place. The comments he makes are inaccurate in many ways and are a mis-interpretation of the facts. ACCUVISION

I'm 46 and had successfully worn contact lenses for years (strength -5.75). However, I had noticed that for the last couple of years I seemed to struggle reading menu's etc. A visit to the optician offered no change to my prescription, so I was becoming increasingly frustrated. Following a colleague's favourable report on her Lasik vision correction at Accuvision Leeds (Wetherby), I booked a consultation to discover to what extent treatment might benefit me. I was immediately impressed by the Accuvision premises and the friendly staff. I felt completely at ease. I had done research on Lasik / Lasek and took along a list of questions, which Simon Falk was more than happy to go through. I was impressed by his knowledge and how he tailored his answers to my individual circumstances. He provided clear and easy to understand explanations and informed me about 'mono-vision': this involves leaving one eye slightly short-sighted to 'improve' near vision. He advised that this should prove beneficial to me, though it may take a little getting used to. I had still not actually made up my mind at this point. However, I was put under no pressure whatsoever. I went away, did further research on mono-vision and Presbyopia: apparently when you reach your mid-forties reading gets harder. This is because the lens and muscles inside the eye have become stiff with age. You can no longer flex the lens to give it the extra power needed for reading. This all made perfect sense, and it appears I'm at the perfect age to have this done! As there would be no charge for further surgery should I decide I couldn't work with mono-vision, I decided I'd nothing to lose! I booked in the following week; 3 July 2012, taking early advantage of the July 2012 special offer. NB. I understand that they offer '10 month interest free credit, after initial deposit' that you may wish to consider. On the day, everyone was very friendly, excited patients spoke openly to one another. It was all very relaxed and I found the surgery itself painless, pretty quick (minutes) and I personally found it all rather interesting.., and pretty 'cool'! I was curious about the 'contact lens bandages' thinking that I wouldn't be able to see when I got home, but these turned out to just be those 'prolonged wear' contact lenses and I hardly noticed I had them in (Simon Falk removed them at my appointment the following day). You can 'see' straight after surgery, and after a short period of rest with your eyes closed, you trot back downstairs. Like everyone else, I had brought dark sunglasses with me, though I didn't feel I needed them. I administered the drops myself and experienced no discomfort whatsoever, so had no need for painkillers. My colleague had mentioned that the following morning she felt as though she had slept in contact lenses, but I was fine. The second evening, it felt slightly like I had a stray eyelash in my left eye, but I ignored it; per the post-operative instruction sheet this isn't unusual. The following morning it was fine. I'm now at day five and on the whole would appear to have already adjusted to the difference in strength between my eyes. I can see distance clearly; including driving in the rain and fog the other day, and I can also read close things; including the date on my watch that has been a blur for the last two years! If I think about it, I can notice the difference in that one eye seems a little fuzzy, but I'm pretty confident that I won't even notice that in a few weeks. This treatment has exceeded my expectations and I fully recommend Accuvision Leeds.

I had excellent service and care throughout. From a no nonsense consultation that left me feeling confident, through surgery and two aftercare meetings. Life without lenses is well worth the time and effort involved and I would have no hesitation in recommending Accuvision to friends family and work colleagues.

I am writing this review 6 years after my surgery in August 2006 and I should say that I am very very happy I had the laser eye surgery. My vision is still perfect on one eye and has decreased by 0.25 on the other, which is - as far as my and my current ophthalmologist are concerned - a brilliant result. If I had known how much I would enjoy life without glasses I would have had the surgery years before I actually did. Compared to the prices in continental Europe Accuvision are very competitive too. Thank you by a happy customer.

Like many others who have posted here before, I had been considering having surgery for many years. This year I am pleased to say that I finally decided to do something about it and find out if I was suitable. I had increasingly found wearing contact lenses uncomfortable and desperately needed a new pair of glasses and, having a prescription of -8.75 with astigmatism, resented the thought of the expense this would entail. Having read many positive stories I decided that Accuvision would be the best place to try. I attended my consultation in September with an open mind and was quite prepared to be told that nothing could be done. I was delighted to find out that my eyes were suitable for surgery and that I should expect a good outcome from it even though there was a chance that I would be left with a small residual prescription. My surgery was booked the next day for the end of October. Everything went according to plan and the procedure really was over so quickly with only minor discomfort.. My check up the next day was positive and by my one week follow up my vision was as good as it had been with glasses beforehand with a promise that with further healing it should get better still. I did not expect a miraculous recovery and my vision certainly fluctuated during that first week. Personally I would not have been happy to have been at work for that first week but I would say that after 2 weeks my vision felt perfectly stable. There is still some night vision 'interference' but I feel quite comfortable driving in the dark. I do not find this to be any worse than driving at night whilst wearing my glasses or having worn contact lenses all day. My overall experience at Accuvision was excellent. I had read how professional and friendly the team are and found this to be totally true. I never felt under any pressure to go ahead with surgery and that my welfare was the priority. I hope I haven't rambled on too long here but to be able to see properly without glasses or lenses having relied upon them for nearly 40 years is a revelation. I can particularly appreciate my new vision on such a wonderful clear sunny day here today. If you are thinking of having this procedure I would thoroughly recommend Accuvision. This was a big decision for me to make and I am so pleased that I went for it. Thank you Jason
