1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

After years of deliberating whether to have laser eye surgery I decided enough was enough and took the plunge. I chose Accuvision in Fulham as I had only positive feedback from previous patients and I investigated the state of the art equipment used there. I was not disappointed. I was greeted upon my arrival in a very friendly manner and was seen by a professional optometrist who examined my eyes thoroughly while explaining everything in great detail making sure I understood fully the treatment I was to have - in fact I only had to have one eye operated on. On surgery day again I was treated in the most professional, hospitable way and informed of everything that was happening. After a few minutes I was out of surgery and able to see without glasses, I was amazed, quite emotional and very, very grateful to all the staff at Accuvision for their professionalism, care and the return of my sight. My only regret is that I waited so long.. Sharon Francis.

After initially being rejected for surgery I was able to take advantage of a relatively new procedure suitable for my eyes known as Topography guided Trans epithelial lasik with cross linking. This strengthens the cornea as well as improving sight. It is a procedure which lasts about half an hour and is quite uncomfortable. The following week requires a lot of rest and some painkilling relief. Vision improves slowly over a period of 6-8 weeks. My vision has improved dramatically and I only need to wear reading glasses to a strength of 1-1.5.Most of the time I don't need to wear glasses at all. I am being regularly monitored and have nothing but praise for the team at Accuvision who have done an outstanding job.

SUPERB!!! 6 years following my LASIK surgery (with a 'blade') at Accuvision in Fulham. My vision is still fab. Have put several friends in touch with Accuvision and they to are equally impressed with their results. It looks as though they (Accuvision) offer a whole lot more than just Lasik these days too.

After wearing glasses for 22 years I finally decided to make a run for freedom. And freedom I got! I've 20/15 on each eye and bordering on 20/10 with both! The first few days after the op I had halo's and everything was a bit 'milky' but after a week it was all fine and now after a month I just have to remember to not push my glasses up all the time... I can absolutely recommend Lasik and specially AccuVision to anyone and I thank them for my newfound freedom.

I made an error in my previous comments, Jindel was my surgeon (so thank you Jindel for the lack of pain :))...

17 Oct 2007

After years of wanting to be free of glasses, and hours of scrutinizing endless pieces of information on eye surgery, I finally took the plunge, and booked a consultation at the Solihull clinic of Accuvision... The consultation on Friday 21 September went well, the tests were extensive, and I felt at ease throughout. In the end I was told I was a perfect candidate for Wavefront Lasik eye surgery, and decided it was now or never.... The next available surgery day at Solihull was the following Tuesday, so I paid my deposit to secure a surgery time on that day. On the day, my husband and I travelled the two hours from our home in West Yorkshire. I sat in the waiting room watching others come out of surgery, and trying to tell what they were thinking... no-one seemed uncomfortable, which put my mind at rest a little. Then I was called in, and panicked.. 'am I doing the right thing?', I've had glasses and contacts for over 20 years, so 'why now??', 'what if it hurts?', 'what if it goes wrong?'..I tried to remain cool, calm and collected, but in truth, I was terrified.... The procedure was explained throughout its happening (except it is not just the green light you have to look at that disappears, everything actually goes black for a short time).. I personally, did not like the moment when I was told I would feel a slight pressure, because I knew this would be when they cut the flap in the cornea. When the eye was being lasered there was a 'burning' smell which lasted a few seconds (though I was told the laser actually freezes rather than burns). When I sat back in the waiting room (after about 5-8 mins), I said to my husband 'I can't believe I have just done that', to which he replied 'neither can I!'..He knows how squeamish I am. In truth, I have to say, I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort whatsoever..Although I did expect to be able to see clearly straight away, I could not, everything was blur, but this is common for most. I was told come the morning, I would see clearer. Unfortunately for me, my eyes were very dry (even though I was putting the drops in up to going to bed), when I awoke the next day my right eye did not feel right, when I removed the eye guard, my vision in that eye was actually worse than the day before, my pupil was tiny and not reacting to light. When we returned to the clinic, I was informed the flap had moved slightly, and I had water retention under it.. It appeared the protective lens had suffocated my eye. Though I was assured there was no need to worry, the eye was starting to repair itself, and the water should be absorbed. I was asked to come back on the next surgery day, just in case..... When I attended my next appointment, I was checked by four people, and the conclusion was I would not need another operation.. Over that week, the blurriness had started to subside, and the cornea was back to full thickness, my sight getting better day by day. I was told my eye sight was better than 20/20 IN BOTH EYES, WOW. Over three weeks on, I am still improving, though still a little hazy in my right eye (I have to blink a few times for clearer vision), I am hopeful things will be normal soon. I don't want to put any one off at all, I just wanted to share my experience, as it was not the same for me as it was for the majority of people on this site.... I would not deter anyone who has been thinking about laser eye surgery. If you are, I would encourage you to go for it!! I am a wimp, and considering what I have been through, I am not sorry in the least that I had this surgery as it means freedom from glasses and contacts. I felt safe in the hands of Accuvision, and would recommend them as being amongst the best, Thanks for caring guys..

Before I begin, I would like to thank the staff at Accuvision for their wonderful service, in my opinion they are second to none. Right... For those of you reading these reviews trying to decide who to pick then I can definitely vouch for Accuvision. They price their treatment accordingly and fairly whilst providing quality treatment. I am based in the North so I originally went to Leeds to see Simon Falk for my consultation. Simon was exceptionally clear and concise and answered all of my questions without any worries. I must say, he gave me the best eye checkup I have ever had (and this was all FREE!!!). I was very happy at this stage to sign up. I had my treatment at the Fulham clinic in London (which was perfectly placed 5 minutes away from the Parson's Green Tube station) and I was very impressed with the overall presentation of the clinic. The staff were exceptionally friendly and greeted me very warmly. The optometrists were very thorough with their evaluation of me (even though I had already paid my deposit) and gave me a very clear idea of what to expect. I was exceptionally nervous when it came to the crunch, but it was totally painless and ended before I had time to get too worried (thank you Darius!). I left the clinic feeling very confident I had made the right choice. Almost immediately I could see a major improvement with my vision (with sneaked peeks at the TV in the lounge of the clinic) and also in the Taxi journey back to the hotel. Unfortunately for me, I had a slight delay in my recovery which was later found to be a reaction to the steroids. I was very nervous about complications and they suggested I went to the clinic the same day to confirm everything was fine - I had quite a journey to make and it was after their opening hours by the time I arrived - but the surgeon (Darius) waited for me as did all of the Optometrists. Darius spotted the problem immediately without fuss and put me at ease. The Staff were very thorough again, double checking everything (including eye pressure 2 different ways just to be certain). I knew I was in very good hands. Three days later both of my eyes were recovered. My right eye, which had already been very good, was exceptional - much better than I had hoped for. My left eye not as good but still great. Two weeks later I am still seeing improvements and everything looks so much nicer. Colours are more vivid, distant objects appear more crisp and everything looks great. Everything seems much more upbeat and real. I was amazed at how the colours jumped out at me (and I still am). I guess this is what they mean by improved acuity. I would not hesitate to recommend Accuvision - especially those worried about the aftercare - which in my case has been brilliant!!

First of all, I would like to say I didn’t take laser eye surgery lightly. I did all the research I could possibly do into all of the issues relating to the various types of surgery available. I also watched a youtube video showing the surgery itself just to try and put myself off.

Accuvision were exceptionally professional from the word go and I was treated very well indeed. I opted to go to London for my surgery but my initial consultation was in Leeds at Simon Falk’s Optometrists. Simon was very open and clear at explaining all the relevant information and I felt very well informed.

On the day of surgery I took a train/tube to the clinic which was very conveniently located near to Parson’s Green tube station. The clinic itself was very nice and comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which put me at ease. The actual procedure was very quick and my surgeon very adept at what he was doing. I felt no pain or discomfort even though I was fighting all the way.

The next day my right eye was perfect. My left took a little more time to catch up but I was given exceptional after care and nothing was left to chance. They made sure that nothing was wrong and reassured me that everything would be fine (I was a rare reactor to the steroid drops). I would say if you are even slightly concerned about issues after this treatment then Accuvision is the clinic for you because they have absolutely second to none aftercare.

Now, 11 days after the procedure my eyes are fantastic! I am looking out the window now and I feel like superman! I can see detail on things that are 100’s of meters away.

I was 20/20 with glasses but this is definitely something else! Not only can I see clean detail from far away, but I can pick out clear details. Colours are much more vivid and alive. It is hard to explain but everything looks more upbeat!

This isn’t as good as glasses – it is MILES BETTER!!!!

This was the best money I have ever spent. If you are looking for great people, unbelievable amounts of support and 2020 vision this is the place, Accuvision, I would recommend.
The optometrist was lovely and very helpful with the questions that I had, he also gave me a realistic view on things and I felt that I was being given good, honest advice.
The opp was approx 2 mins per eye and after that my vision has improved dramatically. I had near perfect vision with in a couple of hours.

I hope this helps and good luck with the surgery if you choose to have.

After reviewing numerous websites and a number of clinics, I chose Accusvision predominantly based on friends recommendations and cost. The initial consultation was really helpful in explaining the options and risks (its easy to find this info on the web, so nothing should surprise you during the consultation). Due to the fact that I play rugby, epi-lasik was recommended, on healing its a more stable option for someone who is likely to get the odd finger or elbow in their eye! I had been keen on lasik due to the quicker healing time + less pain, but met a patient in a similar position to me some 4 weeks after his procedure, he was really positive and this convinvced me to go for epi-lasik, despite the longer and more difficult intial healing period. I found the procedure a pretty intense 10 minutes, including a few seconds of blindness, a few seconds of 'kalidescope' vision, and a few more with the smell of burning. With sore and sensitive eyes I was glad I'd taken someone with me, the journey home on the tube would have been interesting otherwise. That night was very painful, antibiotic drops (that you have to take) and painkillers helped, plus something to induce sleep. The following day was much better, you can start to see well but eyes are very sensitive so sunglasses are a must, I'd recommend sleeping / resting for as long as possible. A couple more days and things slowly get better, again, dont over do it, its not worth pushing it. My vision did vary in the first few weeks, this seemed to be down to tiredness and differences in healing - all perfectly normal. After a month both eyes really settled down and now three months on and I take it for granted. Things to be aware of at Accusivion, you will only see your surgeon during the procedure, the remainder of the time you are dealt with by other members of the team. This is really not a problem as these guys are very friendly and helpful, but if you're after contact with your surgeon from start to finish you need to go elsewhere, and pay a higher price for it. For me, I was happy with the service and delighted with the results - my vision is now 20/20 (better in my left eye) and its great not worrying about glasses or lenses. I'd do it again tomorrow without hesitation, a big thanks to all at Accuvision.
