1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

A Big THUMBS UP for Accuvision from me Booked in for surgery last Thursday (6/12/07, 10:00 am) and I was a tad nervous - what if it all went wrong??? No need to worry though, the team at Accuvison in Solihull went through the procedure with me again, explained what would happen, re-tested my eyes and asked me if I was sure I wanted to go ahead and if I understood the possibilities of failure and how they would correct it if they didn't get it right first time. All very re-assuring. When it came to my time for the op, they were all very friendly, talking to me all the way though it, making sure I was still breathing (!). It was the weirdest thing, having your eyelids clamped back, it going dark then light again then the smell of burnt eyeball (uuurgh!), followed by the soothing drench of cooling solution before the flap is flipped back and the protective lens is put in. All done in a couple of minutes per eye. Within 15 mins of going in I was sitting back up, and able to see, albeit a bit blurred and foggy to begin with. 15 mins waiting for things to stabilize, a quick but efficient check to make sure the flap was down straight with no wrinkles and that was it, I was free to go. For the rest of the day I slept at home, and by teatime I was able to see quite clearly, although my close-up vision was pants. I was disappointed by this as before the op I was able to see to read very easily. Anyway, I carried on putting in the eye drops til bedtime. I had no pain, and no real discomfort - my eyes just felt like I had old contacct lenses in, kinda gritty but not painful. The next day I woke up and I could see distance quite well, although it was a bit foggier than the night before. Still couldn't see to read properly though. Carried on with the drops, and toddled off for my check-up that afternoon. I could see well enough to drive. Told them when I got there about the foggy vision and the way my eyes felt and Nick just flipped out the protective lenses and WOW, what a difference. All the fogginess disappeared, my close vision came back (although not as well as before) and distance vision was clear. What a wonderful feeling. My eyes were healing very well and when I did the eye-test I had better than 20/20 vision. Kewl!! Each day since then it has got better and better and my close up vision is coming back. Nick explained that it will take a while for my brain to get used to things, but for me this is just about the best money I've spent in a long time. It was sheer joy being able to go and buy a pair of sunglasses!! :) A big thank you to all at Accuvision in Solihull, especially Bernard Gastain (the Surgeon), Nick Daish and Vikash Patel (optometrists). If you're considering it I can highly recommend you have a chat with them, its a very pleasant experience dealing with professionals who put no pressure on you to buy their services, just explain it all clearly and let you make up your own mind.

I am a pianist and musical director for the Royal Shakespeare Company, so my vision is absolutely crucial to my job. It was also an issue for me sometimes having to appear on stage without wearing glasses etc. I had considered laser surgery on and off for a number of years, but was squeamish about even wearing contacts, before deciding to take the plunge, and after doing some research opted for Accuvision in Solihull. My prescription was not too severe so I was told I would be an ideal candidate for Wavefront. I found the procedure to be totally painless and much less stressful than I was expecting. The surgeon was excellent at keeping things relaxed and letting me know what I needed to do. My recovery experience has been pretty much what was predicted - some lights at night had a halo like glow around them which faded over a couple of weeks or so. This aspect was of particular importance to me as I work in an orchestra pit or dark back stage areas etc, while having to read music scores under bright, localized lights - so I am very pleased that this side effect has been only temporary. My eyes felt a little dry at times and slightly ached initially but again these effects have not lasted. At my one month check up, I was informed my vision was 130%, so I am absolutely delighted with the results and would whole heartedly recommend Accuvision to anyone considering Laser surgery.

Excellent service before during and after operation with no hard sell. Delighted with result.

The team at Solihull answered all my questions and concerns. They made be feel totally at ease with the complete procedure. As a Police Officer i was worried about night time driving, but this simple and pain free procedure has been excellent. What a feeling to throw away those contact lenses and solutions. I wish I'd done it years ago.

Can't express enough how happy I am. I never appreciated how precious sight is until I had it fully restored by Accuvision. My sight was a bit complex with a stigma and long vision but I now have almost 20/20 vision. The first day after the operation I felt like I had the sight of an eagle and realised that I had not seen properly for years through glasses. An absolute miracle and the best money I've ever spent. Highly recommend the Kings Road surgery, absolutely brilliant and a fantastic after service. My life feels like it's started over again, can't recommend this surgery enough.

Mid 2006, after reading some articles, I decided that finally the time had come to get rid of my glasses ( -8/-6.5, -3/3.5 cyl) and go for laser surgery. After some research on the web I choose Accuvision in London, basically because of the very positive testimonials. The intake confirmed they were indeed thorough, professional and very pleasant. Although Joan was the first woman to call me thick, she fortunately just referred to my retinas ! So good news. And she made me reconsider my decision not to have a reading correction in one eye, for which I am still very grateful. In July I had the operation. It went faster then expected and not painful at all. Unfortunately my distance eye did not correct 100% and my eyes were dry and sensitive for a few months. But checkups were always courteous and I felt I was very well taken care of and well informed and advised. For a short time in October I nearly lost hope as my reading eye was trying to help me see in the distance and I had to wear reading glasses again. However, when it turned out my distance eye had got stuck at +2, I could correct for distance with off-the-shelve reading glasses with one glass removed. And that improved my reading again. In December Accuvision advised that now my eyes seemed stable enough to come back early 2007 for a check up with the possibility of a correction to the distance eye the same day. This went very well and in September I had my last check and walked out with 20/20 distance vision and perfect reading of the smallest print without glasses. I can 100% recommend Accuvision, especially if you need a strong correction. They do what they say in the intake: if they consider your eyes suitable for Laser treatment their quote will fix your eyes. I never lost confidence in their professionalism and dedication to get it right. Full marks to Darius and his team. Even if things did not go as smoothly as I hoped I would not hesitate to do the treatment again, and only with them. The result is well, well worth it ! Ruud van der Velden

We left any comments until our final check up so as to give the full picture. Both my wife and I had treatment last May. My wife had monovision correction (one eye for reading and one for distance) and I had my acute astigmatism corrected. Cost for both of us £3400, half the price of other quotes we had. I never believed that I would ever rid myself of glasses. We must give the staff at Accuvision 200% for their care, professionalism and total customer service. Everything was 1st class and truly exceeded our expectations. If you are thinking of having laser surgery don't look elsewhere.

I had both my eyes lasered about 6 years ago with Accuvision. My prescription was -6.5 for both eyes. The service I received at Accuvision was incomparable. I had a thorough eye examination and the procedure was thoroughly explained to me. There was no hard sell at all, in fact they even encouraged me to go away and think about the operation before making a decision. On the day I was made to feel very special by all involved in my procedure especially as I was very scared, but the procedure was very quick and they talked to me all the way through the operation so I was aware of exactly what was going on. I had to go back the following day, then 1 week later then 1 month and then 6 months. Every time I returned I was greeted by name and seen by the same people. My Mum, who is long sighted, and had accompanied me throughout my procedure had her eyes lastered 2 years later, and when I went with her they recognised me! Since then my sister-in-law, step dad and my husband have had their eyes done at Accuvision. I can't recommend them highly enough. My Husband had his eyes done this week - a total success - he wishes now he had had his done a few years ago. The price I paid has come down considerably and my husband paid £1250 per eye. If you want a company that is interested in you and not just their bottom line - go to Accuvision.

I had my surgery a week ago today and had my second post op appointment this morning. I have found Accuvision to be excellent in every way. At my consultation they were thorough, professional, positive and at no point tried to pressure me into making my mind up. I left my consultation feeling completely confident in Accuvision, so I went ahead and booked the surgery. I didn't even bother with other consultations as I trusted them completely. I was SO nervous at my surgery and my head wouldn't stop shaking throughout the procedure. However I had no reason to be so anxious. It was completely painless, just a little weird. But it is over so quickly, that you don't really have time to think about what's happening. My surgeon, Chad Rostron, was brilliant - reassuring, professional and I had complete faith in him. The nurse and second surgeon in the room were also fantatsic. After the surgery, I had to sit in the reception for 15 mins with my eyes closed, but when those 15 mins were up and I opened my eyes - I could see! 20 mins earlier I hadn't be able to read the writing on the TV, but now I could! I can't tell you what an incredible feeling it was. My eyes didn't hurt afterwards, they just felt like I had a bit of grit in them. By the next morning when I went back for my follow up appointment, I felt great. Now a week later, I have 20-20 vision. My distance sight is excellent but reading up close is very slightly wooly. Also my night vision is not quite as it should be but both these things will correct themselves as the swelling goes down in my eyes. I am so pleased with the results, it's like a modern day miracle and I forget that I needed glasses now. Accuvision were brilliant - they are welcoming, professional and trustworthy and I wouldn't hesitate in encouraging anyone to have their surgery with them. In fact, I have already recommended my dad and 2 friends!

Further to post a couple of days ago: well I can see to type so that must be a good thing? ! All went as planned, the team were very friendly and all introduced themselves. The procedure itself is not pleasant, don't get me wrong there is no pain at all, its just the mental thing of seeing whats happening and having no control over it,that said the staff were very re-assuring and calm and encouraged me to talk the whole time to keep my mind off it. Be warned when the eye drops wear off life is pretty uncomfortable for a good few hours.... so much so that I regretted having it done, then at about 9 pm ( procedure was at 11 am ) there was a marked improvement and I managed to sleep well that night. The discomfort gets better each day and now - 6 days on - just feels a bit gritty. So I can say I would go through it all again it is worth it.Developmental feedback? - as I said before waiting area used for recovery was not great as the woman who came out before me was sobbing which didn't help nerves ( I must add I saw her the next day beaming!) also just after the opp you see the consultant before being allowed to go and I did feel a bit rushed off, but as I was due to see Nick the next day wasn't too worried ( Nick by the way is great). So in conclusion yes go to accuvision you wont be making a mistake.
