1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

What an experience, I attended the clinic 48hrs ago along with my twin sister. We have been treated with the utmost professionalism, care and attention. Our choice was Monovision laser eye surgery, what an amazing transformation. Thankyou so much to the whole team at Accuvision, London for a very kind, detailed and personal service. Looking forward to our check-up.

I had been considering Laser surgery for years, done hours of research online and visited Optimax & Optical Express before contacting Accuvision at Wetherby. My prescription was -5.75 and -6.00 and I have slightly thin corneas which caused problems for Optimax & Optical Express. I spoke to Simon at Wetherby, and had a consultation, he talked me through the process, explained why having thinner corneas could cause problems, and how Accuvision's laser, being faster and more accurate than the other's, could cope with my needs. That was it, no pressure, no 'book now and you'll get a good price' simply what I wanted to know, when I wanted to know it. I booked my surgery date, and continued to bombard Simon with e-mail questions for the 3 weeks between my consultation and surgery date (yesterday (30th June) @ 9am!). All my questions were answered the same day so, by the time my surgery came round, I had no nerves or apprehension at all!! I met Prashant and Daryus, my surgery team on the day, both of whom made me feel relaxed and at home. The surgery took less than 10 minutes, NO PAIN AT ALL!!! and when I got off the bed I could see!!!! It was a bit like being under water, but I could read the clock on the wall!!!! I went home, rested, put my eye drops in as instructed and by 7pm could see very clearly (in fact I annoyed my wife because I was reading car number plates and signs as we went for a little walk!) I can't praise and recommend Accuvision @ Wetherby highly enough, from the lovely Kim on reception, to Simon who'll answer any question and put your mind at rest, to the surgical team, who'll talk you through the procedure and make you feel so comfortable. All I can say is go and talk to them, compare with others if you want, I did, but without doubt, you'll go back to Accuvision for the treatment.

I'm 26 & my prescription was -1.75 in both eyes. I had been wearing what I thought were amazing contact lenses for over 2 years - Air Optix Night & Day. Apparently it was fine to wear them & sleep in them for a MONTH continuously and then just change them with a new pair.. I thought they were great until about 2 years in, when i suddenly woke up in the middle of the night with terribly bad eye pain. From that moment on my eyes totally rejected any contact lenses and always felt very dry and irritated. My useless NHS opthamologist told me i had Blepharitis and could not wear lenses anymore. bleph usually stops u having eye surgery but when I went to eye surgery clinics they all said there was no sign of it and that it was probably just my epithelium had worn down & had no chance to recover. I was quite nervous to have laser surgery because my eyes did not feel healthy at all. I orginally booked in to have wavefront intralase at optimax for £1850, this was the price I got only after about 12 months of letters when the deals kept getting better and better. At the last minute I discovered no-touch & found that accuvision were the only ones that do it. When they quoted me £50 more I was instantly sold. People that take LASIK because it doesn't hurt are really selling themselves short. I play rugby and optimax never told me that there was a distict possibility a blow to the eye could have dislodged the flap which stays weak for up to 7 years post-op. Accuvision said any ppl with active lifestyles should never get a flap, but they recommend trans-epi to everyone that is eligible. My surgeon was Chad Rostron, nice guy and he did a great job. Only ever met him for 15 mins as I primarily dealt with optometrists. Fair enough if this makes my surgery cheaper! So about the pain - surgery was completely painless, don't be nervous about it because it is a breeze. 30 mins afterwards you will not be very comfortable at all, if at all possible I would advise getting home to a dark room within an hour. As i mentioned before, waking up with my contact lens problem was painful, this i'd describe as a discomfort.. a discomfort that takes a very long time to subside. I slept for 4 hours on the first night and the second day was much more managable. I got a good 10 hours on the second night. By the 4th day I was comfortable doing anything and even drove to my follow up appt, although was still very light sensitive. You will be unable to look at computer or tv screens for 3-4 days even with the brightness turned down. So to sum up, the pain isn't a big deal, it's the boredom. Get an ipod with a few audiobooks on it to keep yourself occupied. The results; at my 4 day appointment my vision was 20:40, (driving standard) at my 2 week appt I hit 20:20, and was able to read 2 letters from 20:15. I am now at 4 1/2 weeks and I guess I'm at least 20:15 now, I am hoping, although unlikely, that I will get to 20:10 at some stage and really impress people. They warned me that having to use reading glasses in my old age was almost certain after any laser eye surgery. Seeing as both my parents had perfect eye sight all their lives, and now require reading glasses I thought chances are I will too. Who knows what will be out there in 20 years anyway and at least I know I took the procedure that causes the very least damage to my eyes.

Visited the Fulham, London clinic, a very friendly and knowledgeable team. I was -2.50 and -2.75. With some apprehension I underwent surgery on 23 June. The rest of the day my eyes were sensitive to light, my vision a little misty, and occasionally my right eye felt a little scratchy. The eye drops supplied were very soothing and I was not in any real discomfort. The next morning, my eyes were little gunky from the contact lens 'bandages', but my vision was perfect. The rest of the day my vision was a little variable, but basically perfect and during my post op checkup the bandage contact lenses were removed and quick sight test showed 20/20 vision in my right eye, and just a little worse in my left. Obviously, less than 24 hours after surgery I could not hope for better. All my friends are amazed I am up and about and watching football and my eyes look perfect (not bloodshot!). Thinking back to the procedure itself - there was NO PAIN. It was a little uncomfortable, and the thought of what was going on was disconcerting. Certainly a strange albeit brief experience! But the team were great and it was over very quickly.

Having had my surgery just 48hrs ago, the quality & proffesionalism of Accuvision really can not be underestimated. My initial (free) consultation was in April, Accuvision unlike other companies do *not* have a sales team, their optometrists answer the phone and make bookings and conduct the examination which was incredibly thorough and they told me there and then what the cost was going to be. Even though I decided to book there and then, they told me that there was no pressure and said I was more than welcome to go away and think about it overnight. The proceedure whilst *uncomfortable* was basically painless and took less than 5 mins per eye and having arrived at 9am, I was back on the street without glasses by 10am. Whilst the improvement is instantaneous, it wasn't until the follow up appointment at 9.30 the next day when they removed the 'bandage contact lenses' and had an eye test that I realised I had perfect 20/20 vision (all be it a tiny bit foggy which is slowly clearing away) Like many people, the thought of having eye surgery is daunting, and the usual questions and concerns of 'what if I go blind' or 'what if something happens' where foremost in my mind, however, I understand that no one has ever gone blind through surgery and certainly not thorugh Accuvision, and I believe that the only complications tend to be with those who already have abnormal problems with their eye's above and beyond simply being long or short sighted. Unlike other companies, Accuvision will treat up to -10 prescription for short sightedness and if you are over that they also have other options too. Thousands of people have said it's the best decision that they ever made and wished they'd done it sooner, and I for one whole heartedly agree with them!

After finally coming to the end of my tether with my glasses provider, I decided to go for treatment over Christmas 09. My Dad had had laser eye surgery around 8 years ago with Accuvision, so they were an obvious choice. My consultation was clear and concise, and I was told that laser surgery may not entirely correct my vision, as I was a -8.00. I decided to go ahead, because even a very small prescription would be better than what I had currently. My surgery was booked for mid Feb. I arrived early, and was promptly seen to. The actual procedure was around 10-15 mins, then I was up and out of the clinic before my actual appointment time. First check up next day, they were happy enough to take the bandage contact lenses off, and by my week follow up, I was amazed at what I could see. I can now legally drive without and glasses, which is something we weren't sure we were going to achieve. It took about a month before i stopped reaching out every morning to put my glasses on, but its certainly the best money I've ever spent. Thank you to the whole staff, they were amazing, and made the experience as comfortable and informative as possible.

I am almost 4 months post Trans-Epithelial LASIK and couldn't be happier with the result. Choosing to have laser eye surgery is a daunting decision but Accuvision staff are extremely friendly and helpful, which left me feeling at ease before, during and after the surgery. I opted for the trans-epithelial procedure so that I would not have a flap. The surgery itself is over very quickly and is not painful at all, it is just a slightly uncomfortable feeling. I was warned that after this procedure I would be in more pain for the first few days than with the LASIK procedure, and my eyes would take longer to settle. I am 100% happy with my decision. Yes the first night was extremely uncomfortable, I stayed in a nearby hotel and was very glad I had somebody with me. My eyes watered a lot, were very sore and sensitive to light. After a fairly sleepless night they were a little less sore the following morning for my next day check-up. Within a few days they were comfortable and becoming less sensitive to bright light. The clear vision was instant and has improved over several months. I absolutely love not wearing glasses and contact lenses. I do a lot of travelling and have always hated having to pack so many pairs of contact lenses and glasses, in a few weeks I am heading off on my first trip without them and I cannot wait! If you opt for Trans-Epithelial LASIK you will be required to use drops for a longer period of time than with LASIK. This didn't bother me at all as the drops are easy to use, but it is important to follow the directions carefully. I now have 20.20 vision! Thank you so much to the Accuvision team!!!

I ATTENDED THE LONDON CLINIC FOR MY CONSULTATION AND WAS SEEN BY VIC. HAVING ALREADY HAD CONSULTATIONS AT A COUPLE OF OTHER COMPANIES I WAS VERY PLEASED BY THE PROFESSIONALISM BUT FRIENDLINESS THAT ALL AT THE CLINIC DISPLAYED. I WAS ALSO IMPRESSED BY THE HONESTY AND OPENNESS SHOWN.I DECIDED VERY QUICKLY THAT I WOULD PROCEED WITH THE SURGERY AND RETURNED WITHIN A WEEK. I WAS AGAIN IMPRESSED WITH THE PROFESSIONALISM AND HONESTY OF THE SURGEON. THE PROCEDURE WAS QUICK AND COMPLETELY PAINLESS AND AFTER ONLY FIFTEEN MINUTES ALTHOUGH SLIGHTLY BLURRED I HAD 20/20 VISION. I RETURNED FOR MY CHECK UPS AND NOW SOME 10 WEEKS ON I AM SO PLEASED THAT I DECIDED TO GET THIS DONE AND THAT I CHOSE ACCUVISION.

I was highly impressed, not only with the result of the laser eye surgery and the speed at which my sight improved, but also by the professionalism of the team and the way that, throughout the whole process, every step of the way was talked through calmly and clearly, thereby negating any possible concerns. Also there were no long waits.

I still can't believe that I can see things so clear without my glasses or contact lenses when I wake up when I wake up every morning. Because I was so 'blind' for so long. (I was -7.00 both eyes.) Thanks ever so much to Accuvision Team! They are excellent, professional and friendly. I was nervous about the surgery, but they gave me total confidence for the surgery, the procedure was quick and pain free, the recovery was amazingly fast. Now, I have better vision than ever before. I would recommend Accuvision to every friends and family members as well as everyone who considering laser eye treatment! They are great!!!!
