1. Qualifications
After graduating from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1984 Mr Daya completed an internship at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
He then completed his training in the United States completing residencies at NY Downtown Hospital (1985 to 1988) and the Catholic Medical Centre at Cornell University (1988 to 1991). He went on to become the Director of Cornea and External Disease at the Catholic Medical Centre.
Today, Mr Daya serves on numerous committees, including:

I was referred to Centre for Sight by my friend who had his laser eye treatment with Mr. Sheraz Daya. I had my laser eye surgery because it was getting difficult with the deteriorating vision and would had to always wear glasses.
I eventually started wearing contact lens and obviously as I got older it was more difficult to get it out. I wore them since the time I was very young and it is difficult when it rains particularly as I was into a lot of sports especially golf. That’s why I decided to have the surgery.
Overall the experience is fantastic. I did have a problem when I first came because the lady I spoke to, whom I never seen since she was not able to provide me with details. However, I was given all the information and my questions were answered in due course. I was always been made welcomed and very well looked after when I have been here. My patient journey was very smooth from the time of enquiry till post-operative care other than that hick up. When I phoned up between having the operation and coming in for follow up, someone helped me with the query.
Everyone at Centre for Sight has been very kind and helpful. The receptionists are very welcoming, I feel nice and comfortable.

“I first came through Centre for Sight because my husband had been here before for his laser procedure 10 years ago, as well as his brother and his aunt. Although we live all the way up in North Yorkshire, we wanted to come here since we have had great experience in the past. We knew it would be a good place for us.
Before I was not too short-sighted in terms of I didn’t have that much needed to be done. But it was going to make a big difference in terms of driving, etc.
My vision now – I cannot believe how I can see everything around me and the process has been quick. I had the consultation on Monday, surgery on Wednesday and the follow up on Thursday – so it was all been very quick.
My husband got his procedure done 10+ years ago exactly here – at Centre for Sight. It was interesting to hear his point of view because technology has advanced since he had his eyes done. “My father is an eye surgeon and when he found out I was short-sighted more than 10 years back, he took me to his colleague in Leeds. He investigated my eye sight and diagnosed me with Astigmatism. I was surprised to hear that was not prepared to work on it and correct my vision. He suggested Dr. Sheraz Daya so we took the train down south for my consultation in East Grinstead.
Dr. Daya was very cooperative and ready to get my eye sorted. Words cannot describe how the Implantable Contact Lens Laser eye surgery at Centre for Sight has affected my life… I am blown away and quite tearful over it. I had my eye surgery because I had very poor vision. I used to wear contact lenses and have been wearing them since the age of year 13 and had to revert to wearing glasses.
As well as being terribly short sighted, my near vision was deteriorating and the contact lenses would not accommodate it. After which I was not confident wearing glasses at all.
