I had my right eye treated on Friday 19th Oct at 3pm. Treatment was painless and by Saturday morning my vision was excellent. Eye drops and care will needed for 7 days. Normally at my age reading glasses would be needed if both eyes were treated but I received advice that because my reading was OK without glasses I could have just one eye treated which avoids the need for reading glasses. I am delighted with the whole process from initial consultation through to treatment.

Even from the initial phone call to the end of the treatment I have nothing but praise for the staff and would recommend it to anyone. I had no pressure to go through the procedure even after my free consultation and initial phone calls it was up to me and it was my choice I had no hassle from the clinic at all which was really nice. Everything was explained to me in detail with what to expect and what would happen. Mr Doyle showed me how my eyes would change using a model which was very helpful, I even got to see the room and the machine which is used. All the information was given to me was clear and precise and easy to understand which is important and details such as taking someone with me and taking sunglasses was again made clear and made it easier following the procedure. It was even recommended to shut my curtains so that when i returned I wouldn't find it too bright which was really useful!! The actual procedure went smoothly. All the staff were kind and caring and supportive and all the follow up check ups have been successful. So far its the best thing that I could have done and it has changed my life and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you to all the staff at Visualase Bolton.

Very very pleased with the results. The staff and doctor were fabulous on the day, I wasn't in the least bit worried. I was in no pain whatsoever at anytime throughout the procedure or afterwards. I was able to drive and go back to work the next day. Would recommend the clinic and treatment to anybody. A big thank you to all the team.

Went for a visit intending to have both eyes done. Advise given was excellent, and saved me money. I compaired the advice with two other national places and returend to have work carried our here. Both the time spent at the time of the tratment and after serviece have been excellent. My wife has a health problem wich could have affected here ablity to have the tratment carried out, the surgery would not advise the tratment until further checks were carried out,she has since had here eyes done,

The treatment i received at the clinic was exceptional.Everyone was so friendly and helpful and explained everything in detail to me.The first consultation at the clinic included a visit to the surgeon Mr. Stephen Doyle. He went through the surgical treatment with me and answered all my questions, this visit was very relaxed and he put me completely at ease.On the day of the surgery all the staff in the clinic were very caring and i was made to feel like a person and not just a number. The surgery was painfree and i was treated extremely well.I was absolutly amazed how much better i could see fifteen minutes after surgery.I returned to the clinic the following day for a check up and i have had various check ups throughout the year.I am delighted with the results and i only wish i had done it sooner. It is brilliant not to have to wear glasses anymore and i would recommend this clinic to anyone considering having laser eye surgery.

My whole experience at Visualase Bolton was nothing short of fantastic! My eyesight wasn't too bad, but I was sick of wearing glasses all the time, sick of taking off the specs on photos at weddings etc and I was getting sore areas on the bridge of my nose.. So I decided to take the plunge! I researched Laser eye surgery for two weeks even went to Optimax in Manchester to find out about procedures and prices etc. I mentioned I was looking into it (excuse the pun) to a friend.. He recommended where he had his Laser Surgery, Visualase Bolton, and since he had really awful eyesight and now had perfect vision.... and he is a Priest!! I valued his opinion. I researched Visualase Surgeons, success rates and reviews and booked an appointment. From my first visit it was an excellent experience , very relaxed and had no obligations. More friendly and interested than Optimax, who were very sales orientated... Dr Doyle was open, honest and gave me all the facts. The ladies on the front desk kept me informed about the appointments by text and letters and sent information about all the surgeries. On the day of my surgery I was a little anxious, but I need not have worried as it was plain sailing. I was taken into the consulting room prepped with a fancy hat and shoe covers. I lay on the operating table, no head clamps or crazy eye grips, it was very comfortable, I was told every part or the procedure as it was happening, and was given how long (in seconds) each part of surgery was going to last. I was even given the chance to sit up and have a drink of water after the first eye was done. I lay down again and after another 45seconds the whole procedure was done! Amazing... I was taken into a recovery room, a glass of water later.. I was fine. I had to wear some gauze over my eyes and they felt blurry for a couple of hours afterwards but the change was remarkable.., Dr Doyle tested my eyesight 30min after the op... He asked me to read the top line of eye test..but .. I could even read the BOTTOM line! Perfect eye sight! I have been back three times now for my check ups, the staff all remember me and the tests have been a success too... It truly is life in HD... No even Blu-Ray!! I can't recommend it enough! It was the best money I have spent in years... In fact maybe ever! I even got money off for being reconmended by someone... and my Friend who recommended me got some vouchers too! If you are still undecided or worried and need more info or reassurance about your Visualase experience feel free to drop me an email, I'll be happy to help! Go for it!!!

In July 2011, Visualase Bolton (Hilary Smith) sent me the following offer "You recently entered our competition to win free laser eye treatment. Unfortunately your name wasn’t drawn, however we can still offer you an amazing price for your treatment. The cost of customised Wavefront guided LASIK is £2,390 – but you will only pay £1,500" I proceeded to undergo the treatment in October 2011, after doing my right eye, I was found to have a loose epithelium, and decided not to have my left eye done. After doing my right eye I noticed severe night and low light issues and was told this was absolutely normal and they had run all their tests and everything was fine, just taking time to heal due to the loose epithelium. I allowed them to do my left eye (lasek) in February 2012.. instantly I knew something was wrong as I now had the same low-light issues in both eyes. The problems I experience are tremendous amounts of glare and starbursts in both eyes, this is during the day when in doors, under artificial lighting in doors and at night its at its worse, horrendous starburst, glare, and double vision. I went back to the clinic 3 times, I saw their optometrist Angela who claimed I had dry eye. The next week I saw Dr Doyle who told me I was simply over corrected and not to worry, the week after that I saw Dr Hynnes who couldn't figure out what was wrong with me and told me my brain would simply adapt. I asked Hilary Smith the clinic manager to pay for a second opinion at Moorfields, who refused and told me that there was nothing wrong with me. She arrogantly told me that her 'surgeons had done 30,000 eyes between them and they have seen it all' I went to see a Professor at Moorfields eye hospital, who told me they never gave me the wavefront-guided treatment, in fact they had given me wavefront-optmised. They hadn't even performed wavefront scans pre or post op, and in actual fact the only suitable treatment for me was a wavefront-guided treatment, the very treatment that they offered to me as part of their discount offer. What kind of surgeons make decisions about your eye sight without running a basic wavefront scan? I must now make a decision as to under go a treatment at Moorfields and as they are refusing to pay for it, I will have to pay myself. They have no morals or decency, by not offering to pay for my treatment in writing, refusing to pay for my second opinion and actually ridiculing me when I told them that there was a problem. They have cheated me out of my eye sight. I have raised an official complaint with this company and I am waiting for their response. I have a 15 month old baby, a wife, a disabled parent and a partially sighted parent to look after. I can no longer drive at night confidently, watch TV at night (which I always loved doing) and many other things. I have been left with severe depression, anxiety, guilt and anger. Tell me what kind of clinic would do this to someone? Please stay well away from this clinic, I would recommend going to a real clinic / hospital like Moorfields, Manchester Eye Hospital or the Centre for Sight.

I've been myopic since the age of 6 and managed with a combination of glasses and contact lenses for the next 58 years. Visualase was the group that convinced me as a medical professional that they looked beyond the cornea and provided a service that was friendly, professional and ultimately highly technically skilled. My vision is now as good as I hoped it would be. I can rip down the Snellen chart to the bottom when previously I couldn't read the letter at the top. A splendid and professional job from Visualase

Having laser eye surgery has made such a difference after wearing glasses and contact lenses for 20 years! It's now one month since I had my treatment and there have been no problems at all. The care and advice given by the staff and Dr Doyle both before and after the treatment are excellent. The treatment itself is so quick, PAINLESS and instant I could not believe the results! I would recommend Visualase to anyone considering laser eye surgery.
