I had LASIK surgery at the Edinburgh clinic on the 17th May. The operation went fine but on the first night I was in a bit of discomfort and didn't sleep much. Just had the first month check up and can see the bottom line on the chart with both eyes so happy with that ! I use artificial tear drops a couple of times a day and there's a slight halo around lights at night. Apart from that everything is fine. The clinic staff were friendly and helpful.

Had my lasik surgery done on Saturday 21 June 2003 at Edinburgh with Mr Saboor. I was very nervous but now that it is all over I wonder why it took me so long to have it done. I had no discomfort did not need painkillers and was able to drive on Sunday afternoon. My near vision is not so focused and I have small halos at night but it is early days and hopefully that will improve. Will post my 1 week check results. If anyone is thinking about it, my advice is don't wait, do it

just been back for second after care appointment 4 weeks since having BI-Lateral lasek treament at Leeds on the 6th june.After 2 week after care appointment my vision was a bit unstable,butyesterday it was near perfect 20/20 which i would never of thought possible,it was well worth the three weeks of discomfort,it just shows that everybody heals different,i have been longer,if you want to mail me please dont hesitate tony

I had bi-lateral Lasek in February at Finchley Road, London to correct short sight and astigmatism. It took a few weeks for my eyes to settle down to good vision where i could read small print, especially on computers. I was worried that i couldn't do my work, but for others in this postion do not worry, it does get better and you just need to be patient. Your eyes could fluctuate day-by-day also, but again, don't worry. I now have vision as good as I had when I wore glasses, if not better. If you are thinking about getting the surgery - make sure you do have plenty of time off work after the surgery to allow your eyes time improve.

Ok it has been 2 months now since my bi-lateral epiflap (lasek) @ Optimax Glasgow, eyes are great, a little dry. Night vision has a few minor side effects like a little glare and some haloes (have big pupils)...but boy I am so happy. My eyes feel as good as they ever did with corrective lenses.

I had both my eyes done at Optimax, Finchley road, a month ago, Dr Patel. I was very nervous and came out of the theatre in mild shock I think, white as a sheet and shaking, but I can honestly say I felt no pain, I could see what was going on, hear Dr Patel talking and feel pressure of course, but no pain. One month one, slight infection in left eye, now cleared up and vision very good, 20/20 in right eye, was -5 and in left, not as good, was -6 but very good nonetheless. Think hard before you part with your cash but I'd recommend it.

Had Lasik in November 2002, Finchley Road with Dr Patel- and haven't looked back since! Best thing I ever did. Was approx -8.5 in both eyes and am 0 in left eye and about -0.5 in right eye which is better than I had of hoped for. The only downside is the waiting- you'll never get seen on time (apart from my actual op which was early!!!) for aftercare appts, and a couple of the opticians were a bit moody and not very helpful. Dr Patel was very informative- I had a long list of questions when I first saw him, and a few more on the day of the op- he answered all of them truthfully without using too much medical jargon either. Still paying my dad back (slowly)- but definately well worth it.

I had my eyes treated two weeks ago in Aberdeen and its fantastic!!!! I can now see without my glasses or contacts and I wish I'd done it earlier. My vision is now 6/5 in both eyes and I'm THRILLED!!! The staff at the clinic were very helpful and friendly - especially when I was nervous just having my consultation!!!!! And on the day the girls were fantastic -- I nearly chickened out and they calmed me down fantastically. I'm now on a mission to tell everyone about my success - just need to pursuade my hubby to get it done now!!

just been back too Leeds optimax for ten week check after having bi-lateral lasek treament,optician said i was 20/20 both eyes,and eyes completely healed and A1 in health have to go back in three months to be discharged by doctor hopefully.

So far so good, had my Bi-Lateral (both eyes at the same time) Epiflap proceedure 5 days ago. I had a few essential last minuet questions and I'm sure the nurse thought I was jabbering on because I was nervous...which I was. I had my treatment postponed on Sat 16th due to staff sickness so since the assessment on that day I had thought of a couple more things to ask. Dr Ho (Croydon) gave a lovely smile to greet me and I felt a tad more relaxed. The surgery - if you can call it that, went very quickly. I tried to relax and just let it happen and I knew that I should expect blurred vision as soon as the drops were put in. Dr Ho was very calming. I could feel the Epithelium being removed but it was not painful at all, and looking at the red light was easy as with blurred vision it looked pretty big. I was worried that I wouldn't keep my eyes still and in my effort to do so would end up moving them, but there were signs the nurse made you read before entering the Op room - one saying that the machine will stop if your eyes move out of the target range...well words to that effect. The Epithelium was gently put back and lots of drops put into my eyes. I opted not to have bandaged lenses and the Doctor didn't try and change my mind, respecting my wishes, I had to wear eye patches for 24 hours, I was in a little pain as the anesthetic eye drops wore off but the pain killers the nurse gave me seemed to work for me - I had my own which Dr Ho agreed I could use if needed. One word of advice, have someone there to remember everything the nurse tells you afterwards with regards to when to take the meds, it was written down but I couldn't really take in when to take what when I got home etc...I think it was due to the relief of having my eyes done after much anxiety - maybe... After 24 hours of having patches over my eyes I was glad to get them off, my eyes were feeling itchy. Had my drops in my eyes - painless, and I could see straight away. I prepared myself to expect the worse and I had nothing of the sort, my eyes still improve everyday and I have my first check-up on Saturday 30th - I feel as if all is well and I have 20/20. I feel so much more confident and feel like my old self again - if that makes sense. One more piece of advice have something to hand that will take away the horrible taste the eyedrops leave in the back of your throat. I don't know if anyone else found that, but I wish I'd taken a drink on the journey home. One more thing to add... I was told to expect glare at night due to large pupils...I have experienced worse with glasses and contacts and would like to add that I think my vision is better now than when I wore my glasses or lenses!
