I am really happy with the results. Apart from the machine not working and the long wait, the staff at this Optimax were really nice, friendly and helpful, as was Dr Patel. I would recommend this Optimax. – Tina Gibson

I had Lasik with femto and wavefront, on April 19th. 6 weeks later, things are going well, however my left eye vision is not quite the same as my right - bit like there is a thin layer of film over it. If I could peel it off, all would be great. In bright light conditions, its all good, but in low light, or darknes, it is all still quite blurry. Also no sign of the halos and starburst around car or street lights subsiding yet. Would really like to hear from anyone else who is as frustrated as I am. On the whole I'm very happy, I guess I'm just a little impatient ! LOL

Thanks to eBay - had my surgery 11th May at Croydon clinic, which I would highly recommend. Had to have epi-Lasik & wavefront which was more painful than expected (had to take week off work to recover) but vision is now brilliant. Left eye 20/20 - Right eye still a bit "hazy" but getting better every day! Would highly recommend Optimax and Croydon clinic.

Epi-lasek + wavefront on 27 June 2007 at Bristol Optimax. Surgeon: Dr Slazus. Prescription: -2.25 in right eye; -2.00 in left. Thorough consultation, no hard-sell. The surgery itself was not painful just uncomfortable and the laser noise plus burning smell is off-putting. Quite painful when the anaesthetic wore off - first night was bad, but then lessened. Very cloudy vision the following few days. Have just been for second checkup and am long-sighted in both eyes. Apparently this is 'normal' at this stage. Don't feel I could drive safely at the moment as the difference in vision between both eyes distorts everything. Also, wasn't expecting near vision to be terrible. It's an effort to press the right keys on the keyboard as everything seems blurred! To be truthful I don't know if I would recommend the procedure to anyone else, but maybe this view will change if (and hopefully when!) my eyesight improves. The optometrist said that it can take between 1 and 3 months before the eyesight stabilises so I've still got a lot of blurry weeks to go!

I would highly recommend Optimax in Glasgow. Has Lasik on 9th July 2007 and touch wood everything has been fine. I had an eye test 24hrs after surgery and went from -6.50 in both eyes to -0.25 already, that was a week ago, and i am looking forward to hopefully and even better result at next weeks aftercare appointment. Dr Anwar was very helpfully (and slightly crazy, in a good way!). Made you feel at ease and really understood the stress you feel. Thank you a hundred times over for the new eyes!

I had epi-lasek in March and can honestly say it is the best thing I have done. I found Optimax to be professional, very honest in terms of possible side effects etc and efficient. My surgeon was Mr Patel, who was wonderful - and was honest regarding the pain I would go through etc. At no point did I feel sold to - which after a 'consultation' at Ultralase, which was actually more like a sales pitch, I found most refreshing. My eyes took about 10 days to fully settle, and what a scary 10 days - I thought it had all gone wrong. I had 1 night of pain, 2 days of extreme discomfort and blurry vision for about 5 days. I was discharded yesterday with 20/20 vision. Yippee! NB: I work for the NHS and got a 30% discount on my treatment.

I had Epi-Lasek at Optimax in Peterborough in June, My surgeon was Dr Masilimani. I started with a prescription of L -3.25 R-3.50 with slight astigmatism in the right eye. The whole process was very easy and simple, the clinic was clean and comfortable with nice loos and plenty of magazines to read while you wait. The actual surgery was very quick, the most uncomfortable thing about it was the clamp they put on to hold your eyelid open as this was very tight and felt uncomfortable, the actual surgery is painless and you can see everything happening. I asked the doctor in the consultation if he would explain what was happening during the surgery to put me at ease but when it got round to it i had to ask during the surgery what was going on which made me a little anxious. The next 24hrs are probably worth sleeping through as they were a bit annoying, not painful as such but the constant eye watering and grittyness is very uncomfortable so best take the sleeping pills and have a good kip! Over the next few days my eyes got a lot better i could watch tv after 4 days and go outside without sunglasses after 7 days. The end results are worth it, it took several weeks for my eyes to get to driving standard (don't expect miracles in a few days! think of your eyes like a wound it'll take a few weeks for the surface to heal and your vision to clear) but ever day they appear to be a little sharper and i do not need glasses anymore which was my objective. The fact i paid £895 for both eyes is a bargain not to have to wear glasses or lenses again!

I just thought I would tell you about my experience at Optimax Finchley Rd. Was booked in for Lasik (Femtosecond & Wavefront) on 29/8/07 and made the journey to the clinic only to be told that the femto machine wasn't working!! Obviously I was extremely disappointed as I had been preparing myself all morning (hence technology rating only 4)Was re booked in for the next day at 12.30. Arrived at the clinic and was told there may be a small wait till I was seen. I was eventually called in 3 hours later!!!!Surgery went well and Dr Patel was very nice and kept asking how I was throughout. Had a bandage lens put on my right eye which I had removed the next day. As of today (4 days after surgey)my sight is great and will hopefully keep improving. I am really happy with the results, and apart from the machine not working and the long wait, the staff at this Optimax were really nice, friendly and helpful as was Dr Patel. Would recommend this Optimax.

Had my laser treatment done at Bristol on 29th November, It started at reading. I had my consultation at reading agreed to go ahead with the treatment and after a BIG BUILD UP they then informed me the laser had broken, could not believe it. They were very good and booked me in at Bristol the next day with the same doctor and even offered to pay for my petrol and parking. I must say it was the most weird, bizarre thing I have ever done. I had the standard lasik with no extras and nobody push me in to anything which was good. The whole process took 15 mins from start to finish and its one of the best things i've had done. Once it was done it was like having shampoo in your eyes and the next day it felt like a wrong way round contact lens no more than that. The advise I would give anybody is do your research know what the doctor is talking about, as the consultation is long and there is alot of information to take in and you may op for something that may not suit you, try and have a bit of an idea of what you want. For example one chap I spoke to had the monovision and wish he hadnt, the doctor didnt push him in to it, at the time the man throught it was a good idea and hadnt read alot about it. It just wasn't for him. My eyes are now better than 20/20 vision and my prescription is nought, How about that FANTASTIC!!!!!!

Treated in Belfast Clinic by Dr Qazi - excellent 1 week on and have 2020 vision was -2.25 in both eyes now 0.00. Straight after the surgery I was reading number plates across the street. Dry eyes arent really a problem (took flaxseed oil for weeks before) halos are there but as i have 8mm pupils it was expected but they should fade. Currently the halos arent too bad I can drive without any problems. Highly recommended and the staff are excellent
