I spent a long time, here and elsewhere, researching the best clinics, surgeons and treatments that would be able to correct my high prescription (-11.00) and am delighted, after going through it all, to say that the London Vision Clinic, and Dr/Prof Dan Reinstein, have been extraordinarily good. The level of care and attention is excellent, but the best thing about the LVC is knowing you are in some of the most capable hands in the field anywhere in the world. Prof Reinstein is the guy trying to set the highest standards and raise the bar on refractive surgery in this country. He's warm, open and most importantly completely honest about the risks, possibilities and what he thinks he can do for you. He's also supremely good at what he does: told me there was a one in five chance of getting me 20:20, and that it was more likely I'd be a little way off, but then immediately after the surgery said it had gone perfectly. He did such a good job that I had no scratchiness or discomfort, even during the first week of recovery, and I've been seeing 20:20 in both eyes since! The LVC is exceptional because Reinstein is doing things (surgical techniques) that the high street practitioners haven't even heard of, and using absolutely the latest technology. You pay a premium for this quality of service (which includes superb after care, including possible 'enhancements') but then it's one of the most important things you'll ever spend money on, and the results are priceless. I must just add that I first went for a consultation at Moorfields, where a surgeon told me he couldn't help me, because my prescription was too high and the cornea too thin for him to work with. I took that to be the end of the matter, but on a whim went for a second opinion at the LVC. Even Moorfields, one of the top top places, couldn't come close to doing what Prof Reinstein and his team provide. I don't report this to slight the surgeon at Moorfields, as no doubt he is excellent at what he does too, but it is worth saying for anyone else with a high prescription who has been disappointed by other consultants that you should give LVC a call. I almost missed out on this life changing procedure, because I wasn't aware of how much the abilities of specific surgeons and the technology they are using affect who they can treat - for the best results, particularly for the high-end cases such as mine, Prof Reinstein at the LVC should be at the top of your list.

For several years I have wanted to have 'Laser Eye Surgery', but because of a condition in my left eye known as 'Lazy Eye', I was informed by numerous clinics that I was not a candidate for this type of surgery. One day I happened to be flicking through the TV channels and caught Professor Dan Rheinstein on the Extreme Makeover Program, as he was talking through the process of the surgery that he was about to perform to my surprise he said that the patient suffered from 'Lazy Eye'. Following the program I immediately telephoned the London Clinic and was ecstatic to find that Dr Dan could help me. Throughout my experience, I found the whole team at the clinic to be very professional and caring and without hesitation I would recommend them 200% every time! My Brother accompanied me for my initial consultation and was so impressed that he too is due to have similar surgery later this month. I cannot believe how it has changed my life, literally overnight; not only do I no longer need to wear glasses but I now have peripheral vision in my left eye that I have never had even before my sight started to deteriorate. Emotionally I was amazed at being able to read the instructions on how to feed my plants and the colours and small print that stood out on the cereal boxes in my kitchen cupboard. I would recommend Professor Reinstein and the London Vision Clinic to anyone who considers laser eye surgery, or is experiencing complications as a result of previous eye surgery. My brother had RK (micro surgery) performed on one of his eyes in 2004 and suffered severe halos, starbursts and blurring as a result. The halos and starbursts made it impossible for him to drive at night time. I contacted all eye clinics/surgeons I could come across in the hope that something could be done and the only surgeon I could find who was able to assist (or was willing to operate on an eye where RK had previously been performed for that matter) was Professor Reinstein at the London Vision Clinic. It took a couple of procedures to correct the eye where RK (micro surgery) had previously been performed and the eye which had not been operated on was perfect after one procedure. The service at the London Vision Clinic was incredibly professional, helpful and friendly and my understanding is that they are using the most advanced equipment available today. Professor Reinstein is exceptionally qualified, experienced and dedicated and he personally followed up with calls after each operation to monitor my brother's condition. My brother's initial prescription was -6.0 on the right and -5.75 on the left eye and thanks to Professor Dan Reinstein and his team he now enjoys better than 20/20 vision on both eyes and is no longer experiencing problems with halos or starbursts.

I had blended vision treatment 3 years ago at the London Vision Clinic with Dan Reinstein. Best decision I have made after wearing glasses for 30 years (-3.75 and -4.25) short-sightedness plus last few years also needing reading glasses. I have had 2 further adjustments to sharpen my reading eye. All treatment and post operative care was included in the price (and still is) plus the professionalism and full explanation of everything given by the staff made the decision an easy one (your eyes are very important and I wouldn't trust anyone less re-assuring). I am quite squeamish but had no problems at all with procedure and Mr Reinstein is exceptional in the way he makes you feel relaxed and totally confident in what he is doing. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!!

Dr Dan and all the staff at London Vision Clinic are real stars - had the surgery on Saturday and the results are just amazing. From the initial enquiry right through to the 24 hour post op appointment the service has been amazing. Yes it's a lot of money, but it's your eyesight that you are putting in someone's hands, and if you want the best then you have to pay for it - and Dr Dan is certainly the best. The very thorough and in-depth initial consultation and the after-care, which are all included in the price, are second to none. If you are considering Laser Surgery don't go anywhere else!!! After over 20 years of complete reliance on either glasses or contact lenses I now have complete freedom and it's absolutely brilliant

Where were these people 20 years ago. This has at the age of 54 changed my life. The care attention to detail is second to none. I was afraid of - not being able to keep my eyes open, pain - the usual stuff. My Consultant Surgeon - Glenn Carp - The one who looks like a fighter pilot / film star (swine) was superb. No fuss. No dramas. Just very professional. I am not a patient type and could if it was not my eyes have got fazed by the attention, but I found this very re-assuring. All through the surgery (totally painless and a doddle) Glenn was explaining and talking to make sure I was aware of what he was doing and about to do. I have now become the worlds worst eye bore. I try and convert whoever I speak to, and my wife is fed up of my competitions to see who can see best. I can only recommend this for anyone, from a total coward before the surgery.
