1. Review of Centre for Sight Clinic
Centre for Sight is a long-standing and renowned eye surgery clinic, with three practices in London, Surrey and West Sussex. Its leading consultant eye surgeon, Mr Sheraz Daya, founded the clinic way back in 1996 with a clear mission: provide exemplary eye care to patients in facilities that are purpose-built with their needs in mind.
What makes Centre for Sight different? Centre for Sight is based on Mr Daya’s vision that better surroundings can provide a higher standard of care. Today patients get to enjoy a spa-like or luxury hotel experience, rather than the dread of most hospital surgeries.
Is there anything else I should know? As you’d expect then, this clinic also comes with the price tag that accompanies a five-star experience. Yes, the facilities are kitted out with high-end diagnostic tech and quality lenses, backed up by a team of highly trained staff. But you leave all the fancy atmosphere behind the moment you step outside the clinic, and it won’t be a priority for everyone.

3. Centre for Sight Prices
On average, 723 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid between £2,400 and £3,615 per eye for laser eye and lens replacement surgery at Centre for Sight since 2002. These costs are slightly above the average price range of £1,789 and £3,152 – high street clinics such as Optical Express and Ultralase were the cheapest places we found.
Here are the fixed costs of eye surgery at Centre for Sight:
- Laser eye surgery cost: £2,300 per eye (from £77 per month)
- IntraLASIK Supracor cost: £2,575 per eye (from £86 per month)
- Implantable contact lens cost: £2,975 per eye (from £85 per month)
- Implantable contact lens cost (toric lenses): £3,450 per eye (from £93 per month)

Your costs will include: a free consultation (for laser surgery), the full cost of the procedure, a 24-hour service line, and aftercare for one year after treatment. Laser eye surgery consultations are free, but lens replacement surgery assessments cost £295.
Centre for Sight also provides interest free pay monthly finance options over a generous 24 months – with some clinics, you’ll be paying 11% APR after the first year. As with most clinics, there’s a deposit of £500 to secure the surgery, but this cost comes off the total cost.

Can't believe I could see so quickly - very good encouragement from surgeon and nurse. Very efficient and I would recommend it to ANYONE.

I have waited until after my 3 month check-up to post a report on this site. I had tissue saving surgery at Centre for Sight in June, having worn glasses for 25 years or so (prescription around -4.0 plus astigmatism). I had been following developments in eye surgery ever since the days of Russian radial keratomy, and earlier this year finally reached the conclusion that the technology was sufficiently advanced/safe to go for it. The care and attention at Centre for Sight was, and remains, excellent. The results are also spectacular: 20/20 in one eye, and something close to 20/15 in the other. Reading is harder work than it used to be, but I was thoroughly warned about this by my surgeon Dr Daya, and at age 50 it is to be expected. The surgery itself is totally painfree and is over almost before it even starts. For me, the following few days were rather harder work than expected, because to follow the eyedrop regime religiously (which you must) is not easy in a busy working environment. Most people on this site are understandably very pre-occupied with the surgery itself, when in fact it's the following week or so when you need to take care and be sensible. Now, however, three or four months on, I am continually amazed at my vision which is as good, sometimes even better, than my childrens'! I just wish I'd had it done sooner.

Excellent care both pre and post surgery. Very thorough assessment prior to surgery. Recovery was very quick and am delighted with the outcome. My vision is very clear and for the first time in 25 years I do not need to wear glasses. Would highly recommend Centre for Sight to others.

So thinking of having the surgery but filled with apprehension? Me too, that is until last Saturday (19th August 2006), when I took the ultimate leap of faith and had the operation. I started out with being told, quite rightly, that I shouldn't wear contact lenses excessively as the foolishness of my former youth had taken it's toll over the years and I now had blood vessels gradually creeping across my eyes - yuk. I had looked at other alternatives and indeed used this website to see how others felt about Mr Daya and his team - essentially seeking reassurance for my decision. I needn't have worried - from the moment I called for my appointment to the initial follow up on Monday 21st, I felt I was in professional, safe and immeasurably capable hands at all times. I cannot describe how life enhancing this operation is to those who are thinking of having the operation and are aware of the risks. My personal view is that these risks are minimised when dealing with a thoroughly professional organisation as the Centre for Sight. I am now looking forward to seeing my young family grow up and not have the hassle of glasses or contact lenses. The cost - what price your eyesight? I have been one of the luckier ones with better than 20:20 vision - what more could I have asked for? Go for it!

Had the blade free procedure end of 2005 and I am still amazed at the difference it has made to my life. I was short sighted (-4.25) and now have better than 20/20 vision. The aftercare was brilliant and the staff are very helpful. I especially liked the fact that this clinic turn away unsuitable cases, instead of just doing it anyway like some. They are very professional and do not seem driven by profit. A good sign is that they are always busy. My job involves much travelling, mostly to hot, sunny and very dusty places, living in extremely primitive conditions. I have had no problems or side effects and could not begin to tell you how simpler life is.

Eyesight wonderful! Extremely pleased and am busy selling it to everyone else! Found the follow-up a nuisance i.e. goggles at night caused rather a lot of sleep deprevation - otherwise amazing.

After researching and considering eye surgery for at least 5 years I have finally taken the plunge and had my surgery on Friday 28th July. All the research I had done convinced me that Centre for Sight was the best place to go, and I was certain that Mr Daya was the only person I wanted anywhere near my eyes. However when it came to making the appointment in July, impatience got the better of me and I opted to see Mr Giledi instead. It seems Mr Daya is a very busy man! I was certainly not disappointed. I was -8.75 and -7.25, with astigmatism of -1.25 and -1.75. I was advised to have Intralase with tissue saving, and Mr Giledi advised me that with my high prescription it may not be possible to have a re-treatment if I did not reach the intended correction. The procedure was quick, painless and went like clockwork. As I sat up and the face of the nurse magically appeared before me, Mr Giledi uttered the words "everything went perfect" as I left with a feeling of exhilaration and apprehension as to what the final outcome would be. My eyes were a little uncomfortable for a few hours on the way home, but I since then they have felt no worse than a long day wearing contact lenses. I had my follow up check today (Monday 31st July 2006) and have achieved 20/20 in the left eye and 20/30 in the right. This may improve over then next few weeks, but even if it doesn't I am delighted with the results. Thanks to Mr Giledi and the team at Centre for Sight. Having worn contact lenses and glasses since the age of 7 (I am 42 now) I am free from them at last and I am over the moon. The only problems I have found so far, are that I am getting some glare from bright lights, particularly in my right eye, and sometimes my peripheral vision seems a bit weird, like someone has been shining lights in my eyes. I'm told this will improve as my eyes heal, and it could also be side effects of the steroid eye drops I am using as part of the post surgery medication routine. Hopefully everything will be ok in a few weeks. I went back to work this afternoon and did some work colour grading a tv show. So several million viewers should see the results of my improved eyesight on Channel 4 in a few weeks! Overall 99% satisfied (should be 100% in a few weeks) and I would recommend this to anyone. I hope this has been useful to anyone considering surgery, I'll give an update after my next checkup in September.

Centre for Sight staff have been wonderful (special thanks to Mr Daya, Carolina and Linda). I can't express how thankful I am for the chance to have ICL surgery with such a high standard of expertise and care. Thank you to all at Centre for Sight. May God bless you.
