Before surgery my vision was -8 and therefore I couldn’t read a book, or see facial expressions etc without using my glasses. I would definitely recommend Centre for Sight. I’d dwelt on surgery for 10 years since my initial ...Read more

1. Review of Centre for Sight Clinic

Centre for Sight is a long-standing and renowned eye surgery clinic, with three practices in London, Surrey and West Sussex. Its leading consultant eye surgeon, Mr Sheraz Daya, founded the clinic way back in 1996 with a clear mission: provide exemplary eye care to patients in facilities that are purpose-built with their needs in mind.

What makes Centre for Sight different? Centre for Sight is based on Mr Daya’s vision that better surroundings can provide a higher standard of care. Today patients get to enjoy a spa-like or luxury hotel experience, rather than the dread of most hospital surgeries.

Is there anything else I should know? As you’d expect then, this clinic also comes with the price tag that accompanies a five-star experience. Yes, the facilities are kitted out with high-end diagnostic tech and quality lenses, backed up by a team of highly trained staff. But you leave all the fancy atmosphere behind the moment you step outside the clinic, and it won’t be a priority for everyone.

3. Centre for Sight Prices

On average, 723 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid between £2,400 and £3,615 per eye for laser eye and lens replacement surgery at Centre for Sight since 2002. These costs are slightly above the average price range of £1,789 and £3,152 – high street clinics such as Optical Express and Ultralase were the cheapest places we found.

Here are the fixed costs of eye surgery at Centre for Sight:

  • Laser eye surgery cost: £2,300 per eye (from £77 per month)
  • IntraLASIK Supracor cost: £2,575 per eye (from £86 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost: £2,975 per eye (from £85 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost (toric lenses): £3,450 per eye (from £93 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (monofocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (multifocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)

Your costs will include: a free consultation (for laser surgery), the full cost of the procedure, a 24-hour service line, and aftercare for one year after treatment. Laser eye surgery consultations are free, but lens replacement surgery assessments cost £295.

Centre for Sight also provides interest free pay monthly finance options over a generous 24 months – with some clinics, you’ll be paying 11% APR after the first year. As with most clinics, there’s a deposit of £500 to secure the surgery, but this cost comes off the total cost.

Immediate improvement in vision both near and distant. Need for spectacles eliminated.

Everything was very good, service and operation. It was nice to have some warm blankets so didn’t get too cold. Just waiting an hour for the operation made me more nervous. All the rest absolutely brilliant. Thank you.

Everyone made me feel so comfortable. They made it an enjoyable experience I felt very looked after. All the tests were very thorough and that in itself was a huge comfort. Amazing, thank you!

Very pleased with the results and the professionalism of Sheraz and his team. The wife is already booked in for a consultation with Sheraz!

I found the treatment before and after surgery fantastic. The surgeon, Mr Khan, talking through the procedure was very reassuring. I didn’t see the laser cutting, the smell wasn't too bad from the other laser, it was over before I could get too concerned about anything. Overall really pleased!

I have been a patient of Mr Daya for over 17 years, having been diagnosed with Keratoconus in both eyes at the age of 20. Due to the severity of my condition I underwent a corneal transplant in my left eye shortly after diagnosis, which was performed by Mr Daya and his team at the Queen Victoria hospital in East Grinstead. Then followed Lasik surgery, a wedge re-section, 5 years of hard, almost intolerable contact lenses, until Mr Daya told me four months ago that my condition had stabilised, technology had advanced and that I was able to have IOL Implantable Lenses in both eyes. The news that I could have the surgery was a life changing moment in itself as a long distant dream of being able to see, was to going be realised. Six weeks after surgery it is actually very emotional to type this testimonial as looking at the screen now, I can't actually believe what I can see. My condition and history are far from the average IOL patient and whilst I may end up wearing glasses (with a very weak prescription) for driving, my vision is absolutely amazing. The procedure has completely changed my life. Over the years I have seen many changes at Centre for Sight. Mr Daya having started his clinic on a ward at the Queen Victoria Hospital, to the most sophisticated consultation rooms at Queen Anne Street and now, a purpose built, state of the art hospital in East Grinstead. I feel very truly grateful to have been referred to Mr Daya 17 years ago and I cannot thank him and his team enough for the care and treatment they have given me over the years. I would not hesitate to recommend Centre for Sight for any type of eye surgery. They are an amazing team with the utmost commitment to patient care, professionalism and of course, fantastic results.

All round very professional service in terms of treatment and facilities. Very clear guidance about what the treatment would entail. Thorough examination. All questions answered. Very high level of care before, during and after treatment. Mr Khan invaluable at initial consultations and follow up appointments. I have been very impressed with the overall care and attention to detail for patient well being.

Suddenly I can see!! Everyone was lovely to me and made me feel very comfortable. Every stage was carefully explained. I am recommending Centre for Sight to all my friends.

Nerves all the way, but it was easy and I could see 20/20 in less than 24 hours.

All round excellent treatment. Very good examinations and substantial pre-op consultation with Mr. Khan. Operation was no problem and I had no post op pain at all. Bit hazy but a few Paracetamol and a lie down was all I needed. Perfect vision next day - mild feeling of grittiness but I’ve had worse from contact lenses. I found that Mr. Khan having treatment and the fact that Centre for Sight’s Norwegian colleague came over for surgery to be very persuasive in choosing Centre for Sight. Also the fact that surgeons have specialist post grad qualification in Corneal surgery is very important.
