1. Review of Centre for Sight Clinic
Centre for Sight is a long-standing and renowned eye surgery clinic, with three practices in London, Surrey and West Sussex. Its leading consultant eye surgeon, Mr Sheraz Daya, founded the clinic way back in 1996 with a clear mission: provide exemplary eye care to patients in facilities that are purpose-built with their needs in mind.
What makes Centre for Sight different? Centre for Sight is based on Mr Daya’s vision that better surroundings can provide a higher standard of care. Today patients get to enjoy a spa-like or luxury hotel experience, rather than the dread of most hospital surgeries.
Is there anything else I should know? As you’d expect then, this clinic also comes with the price tag that accompanies a five-star experience. Yes, the facilities are kitted out with high-end diagnostic tech and quality lenses, backed up by a team of highly trained staff. But you leave all the fancy atmosphere behind the moment you step outside the clinic, and it won’t be a priority for everyone.

These costs are slightly above the average price range of £1,789 and £3,152 – high street clinics such as Optical Express and Ultralase were the cheapest places we found.
Here are the fixed costs of eye surgery at Centre for Sight:
- Laser eye surgery cost: £2,300 per eye (from £77 per month)
- IntraLASIK Supracor cost: £2,575 per eye (from £86 per month)

Centre for Sight also provides interest free pay monthly finance options over a generous 24 months – with some clinics, you’ll be paying 11% APR after the first year. As with most clinics, there’s a deposit of £500 to secure the surgery, but this cost comes off the total cost.

I waited 20 years for this! Back in 1988 - only PRK was available and it was largely experimental with no guarantee of outcomes. Ten years later, Lasik is available but I had real concerns over the potential complications - many of which where associated with mechanical cutting of the flap using a microkeratome. The possibility of "button-holing" or imperfect flap alignment causing optical irregularities just wasn't worth the risk - IMHO. I finally had IntraLasik eye surgery on 3rd December 2007. IntraLasik uses a laser to cut the flap - considerably more precisely and cleanly than a mechanical method. Previously -6.75 short-sighted in both eyes, I now have one line better than 20/20 vision in each eye with 2 lines better on both eyes! I see like a hawk in complete technicolour high-definition! I researched carefully and chose Mr Sheraz Daya at The Centre for Sight. He is clearly at the top of his profession - and one of only 3 advisors to Bausch & Lomb, who make the advanced Zyoptix Laser. The team at Centre for Sight were excellent! Real professionals who were very thorough in their assessment and made me feel welcome and comfortable all of the time. The surgery went extremely smoothly and it felt like it was all done in less than 20 minutes! I didn't feel a thing. Afterwards my eyes watered for about 3 hours (it felt like I was frying onions). You're advised to keep your eyes shut during this time and to take a nap - which I did as soon as I got home. After my nap - I felt a slight grittiness in both eyes (similar to that you feel if you've left your contact lenses in too long). Next day any pain and discomfort had totally disappeared - and I was driving by the end of the day! I couldn't get over how well I could see! In fact for the week following my operation I was falling asleep by 9pm most evenings - exhausted from the amount of new visual information I'm now processing! I had some concerns about potentially having worse night vision caused by halos and starbursts from bright lights. These were totally unfounded - I haven't noticed any difference, and if anything my night vision has improved with better contrast and accuracy of vision. So - I can't recommend Mr Sheraz Daya and The Centre for Sight strongly enough. I love my new eyes - and the freedom that goes with them! It was worth the 20 year wait!

I had my surgery a couple of days ago and my experience with Centre for Sight so far has been an extremely good one. Everyone at the centre has been very helpful and friendly and the whole process has been smooth and efficient.

Fantastic results, was impossible to cope without glasses. The first morning after the operation I could see absolutely everything. I fly light aircraft, now i have fighter pilot eye-sight!

Today was my first consultation following surgery two days ago. I hope I am able to drive! I feel the process went very well and I was kept well informed at all times. I am of course anxious about this appointment, but the results appear remarkable.

Having my eyes lasered was the best decision I have ever made. I could see virtually straight after surgery and by the next day - perfect vision. I thought my eyes were good with my contacts/glasses, but after surgery you can actually see how distorted contacts/glasses make everything. I am over the moon, I can't believe that I will not have to worry about looking for my glasses before going to work every day, or ordering contact lenses, and the best part is that I wake up, I do not need glasses, I can see the clock, I look out of the window and see the bird feeders with great spotted woodpeckers without binoculars, and everything has more depth and definition. Even driving without glasses/lenses is fantastic and my night vision is amazing. I look forward to doing all the other things I have done (as I only had my eyes lasered Sat 24th November 2007 and I am not allowed to do any sport etc for a couple of weeks) tennis, holidays around the pool etc with new eyes. I would also like to praise Miss Espinosa my surgeon who was amazing, in more ways than just being a surgeon, and all the staff at Centre for sight at East Grinstead hospital, who had a very calming, efficient friendly approach to the whole experience, which is obviously individually tailored (with all their equipment to give your correct prescription for day and night vision). I think that any one contemplating laser eye treatment, as long as the surgeon says they are suitable, should not hesitate to have the experience of complete freedom. And may I add I personally did not experience any pain during the procedure or after, to date.

The staff have been wonderful and surgeon made me feel at ease! Waiting times were far too long though as both consultation and op were delayed. Would recommend.

Very happy with the service and the result (so far). Will recommend to others.

Having tried the free consultations at the "high street cattle markets" I ended up at CFS. What a difference! Honest advice (unbiassed), friendly helpful staff and a surgeon second to none. Absolutely delighted with results. Started with a -11 prescription.
