Before surgery my vision was -8 and therefore I couldn’t read a book, or see facial expressions etc without using my glasses. I would definitely recommend Centre for Sight. I’d dwelt on surgery for 10 years since my initial ...Read more

1. Review of Centre for Sight Clinic

Centre for Sight is a long-standing and renowned eye surgery clinic, with three practices in London, Surrey and West Sussex. Its leading consultant eye surgeon, Mr Sheraz Daya, founded the clinic way back in 1996 with a clear mission: provide exemplary eye care to patients in facilities that are purpose-built with their needs in mind.

What makes Centre for Sight different? Centre for Sight is based on Mr Daya’s vision that better surroundings can provide a higher standard of care. Today patients get to enjoy a spa-like or luxury hotel experience, rather than the dread of most hospital surgeries.

Is there anything else I should know? As you’d expect then, this clinic also comes with the price tag that accompanies a five-star experience. Yes, the facilities are kitted out with high-end diagnostic tech and quality lenses, backed up by a team of highly trained staff. But you leave all the fancy atmosphere behind the moment you step outside the clinic, and it won’t be a priority for everyone.

Centre for Sight has expertise in all the major eye treatments, from LASIK to lens replacement surgery, and implantable contact lenses. Here are some of the most popular surgeries:

  1. LASIK / IntraLASIK laser eye surgery
  2. Laser and non-laser lens replacement
  3. Implantable contact lenses (ICL surgery)

  5. Corneal grafts

To find out which procedure would work best for your unique eye prescription, always talk to a qualified ophthalmologist. As with all leading clinics, Centre for Sight provides initial consultations where you can talk to a specialised eye consultant, and understand the risks and options available to you.

3. Centre for Sight Prices

On average, 723 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid between £2,400 and £3,615 per eye for laser eye and lens replacement surgery at Centre for Sight since 2002. These costs are slightly above the average price range of £1,789 and £3,152 – high street clinics such as Optical Express and Ultralase were the cheapest places we found.

Here are the fixed costs of eye surgery at Centre for Sight:

  • Laser eye surgery cost: £2,300 per eye (from £77 per month)
  • IntraLASIK Supracor cost: £2,575 per eye (from £86 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost: £2,975 per eye (from £85 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost (toric lenses): £3,450 per eye (from £93 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (monofocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (multifocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)

Your costs will include: a free consultation (for laser surgery), the full cost of the procedure, a 24-hour service line, and aftercare for one year after treatment. Laser eye surgery consultations are free, but lens replacement surgery assessments cost £295.

Centre for Sight also provides interest free pay monthly finance options over a generous 24 months – with some clinics, you’ll be paying 11% APR after the first year. As with most clinics, there’s a deposit of £500 to secure the surgery, but this cost comes off the total cost.

My experience was very positive - I was never put under any pressure to have any surgery - in fact I was very reassured that so many tests were carried out to be sure that I was an eligible candidate (Mr Khan was brilliant)

I would like to say that a year on after the treatment I am still amazed that I can wake up and see every detail of every plant in the garden out of my window! I have had no problem with dryness and can see better at night than before the treatment!! It's one of the best things I've ever done and has completely changed my life.

I had my laser surgery 2 days ago at the Centre for Sight, after having chosen the clinic on recommendation by users of lasik-eyes.co.uk , and 2 consultations at the London office of Centre for Sight.

The surgery was somewhat more traumatic for me than it seemed to be for fellow patients who attended surgery on the same day. Luckily my husband accompanied me to the clinic, and was able to rush to the shops to get painkillers, sunglasses and cotton buds while I was being looked after at the Centre for Sight. My eyes were very stingy and sore and were really streaming for several hours after the surgery, and I could hardly open my eyelids to look at the eye-test chart after the surgery – when I did manage to open my eyes it took a while to clear up the streaming tears and to see something! But I slowly recovered throughout the next 24 hours, following instructions of taking a nap and administering the various eyedrops, taking both paracetamol and ibuprofen to help reduce the pain.

Now my eyesight is about the same as when I wore glasses (I was short-sighted roughly -3.5 and -5.0, with a fair bit of astigmatism in both eyes), though of course being able to see like this WITHOUT the glasses is very good news.

They hadn’t warned me that my eyes would be so bloodshot – looks very scary, with much of the visible eye-white areas being solid red! My eyes feel quite tired – I constantly have that slightly “bruised” or heavy eyelid feeling when you’re sleepy. But with the course of so many eyedrops, artificial tears and still taking ibuprofen, it doesn’t hurt anymore and I think I’m on the way to recovery.

I’m afraid that so far I cannot report the “miraculous” experience some other reviewers have reported, but I am sure that when I am able to fully appreciate being able to do watersports without worrying about glasses/lenses, I will be grateful for the successful treatment. After all, it was for the watersports that I decided to have the surgery!

First class treatment from a very impressive team. The result has staggered me - as so many other people of 'my age' say, I wish I'd done it years ago. I have already recommended two people.

A very professional service and excellent customer care. Excellent post-operative follow up.

I had my surgery on Monday and all I can say is WOW! The results are amazing! I have some dry eye which the drops are controlling but otherwise all is ok. I done a lot of research into laser eye surgery and visited over 5 different clinics over the course of a year before choosing centre for sight. In fact I visited them twice in 6 months and still no hard sale or cost to me. I eventually decided their technology and expertise were the best on the market, CFS are in the process of moving premises and I was rescheduled 2 times before I finally got a confirmed date and CFS gave me 10% discount for my trouble which I thought was great (of course). My surgeon on the day unfortunately wasn't available so Mr Daya carried out the procedure, I will be honest that on the day I was a little ‘put off’ that my surgeon wasn’t available but Mr Daya did a great job as I said above all went very well! My only real criticism was on the day of surgery there were quite a few patients undergoing treatment I totally appreciate they have lots of people to ‘fit in’ but I felt almost as though I was on a conveyor belt but in a funny way this made me more conformable knowing 5 or so people had been before me and come out ok although I was there 4 hours (although the letter does state this)! I had my post op check up yesterday and I am already at 20/20 + vision whish is Fantastic and recommend CFS highly.

I had attended 2 national eye correction clinics and had been bitterly disappointed with their 'Spanish time share' approach to selling eye surgery. My boss had his sight corrected by Centre for Sight and said he had found their approach thoroughly professional - with no hard sell. So i made an appointment at Centre for Sight. What a difference! They approach your eyes like health professionals not sales people and really encouraged me to think about having surgery before I committed to it. In addition they suggested having just one eye done rather than both. Centre for sight is a million miles away from the big competition. In terms of aftercare, again I was very impressed. I have perfect vision following the surgery and have already recommended Centre for Sight to other people.
