Before surgery my vision was -8 and therefore I couldn’t read a book, or see facial expressions etc without using my glasses. I would definitely recommend Centre for Sight. I’d dwelt on surgery for 10 years since my initial ...Read more

1. Review of Centre for Sight Clinic

Centre for Sight is a long-standing and renowned eye surgery clinic, with three practices in London, Surrey and West Sussex. Its leading consultant eye surgeon, Mr Sheraz Daya, founded the clinic way back in 1996 with a clear mission: provide exemplary eye care to patients in facilities that are purpose-built with their needs in mind.

What makes Centre for Sight different? Centre for Sight is based on Mr Daya’s vision that better surroundings can provide a higher standard of care. Today patients get to enjoy a spa-like or luxury hotel experience, rather than the dread of most hospital surgeries.

Is there anything else I should know? As you’d expect then, this clinic also comes with the price tag that accompanies a five-star experience. Yes, the facilities are kitted out with high-end diagnostic tech and quality lenses, backed up by a team of highly trained staff. But you leave all the fancy atmosphere behind the moment you step outside the clinic, and it won’t be a priority for everyone.

3. Centre for Sight Prices

On average, 723 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid between £2,400 and £3,615 per eye for laser eye and lens replacement surgery at Centre for Sight since 2002. These costs are slightly above the average price range of £1,789 and £3,152 – high street clinics such as Optical Express and Ultralase were the cheapest places we found.

Here are the fixed costs of eye surgery at Centre for Sight:

  • Laser eye surgery cost: £2,300 per eye (from £77 per month)
  • IntraLASIK Supracor cost: £2,575 per eye (from £86 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost: £2,975 per eye (from £85 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost (toric lenses): £3,450 per eye (from £93 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (monofocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (multifocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)

Your costs will include: a free consultation (for laser surgery), the full cost of the procedure, a 24-hour service line, and aftercare for one year after treatment. Laser eye surgery consultations are free, but lens replacement surgery assessments cost £295.

Centre for Sight also provides interest free pay monthly finance options over a generous 24 months – with some clinics, you’ll be paying 11% APR after the first year. As with most clinics, there’s a deposit of £500 to secure the surgery, but this cost comes off the total cost.

I paid the Centre for Sight for my LASIK treatment, but nevertheless regard what I received in return a complete gift, since the positive impact on my life overall has been truly remarkable!

Felt reassured and well looked after from the moment I walked into the clinic for my initial consultation. The initial consultation felt thorough and it addressed all my concerns. I left feeling well informed and aware of the risks involved. Dr Khan is an amazing consultant who demonstrates great interpersonal and empathetic skills and who made me feel safe and in good hands. I was terrified on the day of the actual surgery, but calmed down the moment I laid on the table and Dr Khan talked me through everything happening and kept me reassured throughout. Definitely made the right choice to come to Centre for Sight. A big thank you to Dr Khan and his staff for their work, care and attention given to my needs.

I felt privileged to be one of the first patients to be treated for laser correction at Centre for Sight's fantastic new state of the art premises on the outskirts of East Grinstead in mid-October 2009. I had attended a Centre for Sight evening seminar earlier in the summer which provided me with the information I needed to make an informed decision to go ahead with the procedure and following a thorough eye examination and consultation with the surgeon, Mr Daya, I was approved for IntraLASIK Aspheric Wavefront Zyoptix surgery. It was a great comfort knowing I was being treated using the most advanced laser technology available and by a surgeon with an enviable reputation. In addition , the highly professional, dedicated and helpful staff meant the care I received was second to none.I opened my eyes as little as possible for the remainder of the day following the procedure and it was therefore with great delight, and an almost miraculous feeling, that when I awoke the following morning I could see clearly without the need for any visual aids. Being short-sighted (R:-5.75 / L: -6.75) I had previously been a contact lens wearer for almost 20 years and the morning routine always involved scrabbling around for some glasses in order to read the alarm clock before making my way to the bathroom to put my lenses in. In an instant this had become a thing of the past and I am delighted with the results - already my vision using both eyes is better than 20/20. A week after surgery I was enjoying a family walking holiday in the Lake District - nothing too strenuous but certainly able to get out and enjoy the views with my 'new' vision. One of my main reasons for choosing to have the treatment was so that I could enjoy outdoor activities without the inconvenience of wearing contact lenses and I am really looking forward to the new found freedom this will allow me.

I looked into having Laser surgery 5+ years ago, and decided against it as I was early 40's and didn't think I would benefit much from Laser Surgery as I would end up having to wear reading glasses. At that stage my research pointed to the Centre For Sight in East Grinstead, purely for the reason that all their surgeons are Cornea trained and the best in the industry - and they seem to sort out other peoples mistakes!. Anyway, approaching 50 next year, I decided to take another look when a friend reported excellent results and no pain in the spring of 2009. I went along to the Seminar first of all, and then went for a 1 to 1 cosultation which was very thorough and professional doing every sort of measurement and examination. I was very happy with the Centre for Sight, but my main worry was that in order to really benefit from not having to wear glasses at all i.e. even for reading I would need to have mono vision. This is where one eye is lasered for close up i.e. reading and one is lasered for long distance. They do this a lot in America, but for some reason not many people in the UK do it. You have to train your brain a bit, but it doesn't take long, and I had also worn contact lenses similar to this. Anyway, they listened to my concerns and I asked if I could speak with a couple of people who had undertaken mono vision. It took around a week, and Dr Daya's wife kindly found 2 people I could phone. Both were very happy with mono vision, and both had no problems. I booked the surgery the following day. When the day came I was very nervous sitting outside waiting, but the procedure was very quick and I can honestly say there was no pain at all. The day after surgery for my check up I had 20/20 vision and I drove the day after my check-up and can honestly say that I am delighted with the results. Two months after surgery I went on holiday to Greece, and it felt really strange not having to pack lots of contact lenses, fluid and 2 pairs of glasses - I was free from all this!. So, I now do not need reading glasses or glasses for driving. I would whole heartedly recommend Dr Daya, his wife and the whole team who are very professional. You only get one pair of eyes, and I decided to go the the best and not take any risks. I used the Interest Free Credit, which was helpful to spread the costs. Happy to speak with anyone who wants to discuss the procedure. Contact me via Centre for Sight.

The experience was first class throughout. State of the art technology, the very best surgeons, and faultless customer service. I injured one of my eyes shortly after the surgery while playing tennis, and the after-care service (free of charge) offered by Centre for Sight was absolutely fantastic. I now see better than 20/20 in both eyes. I would recommend Centre for Sight to anyone.

I am very pleased with my results. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes and this has made me feel so confident in myself. Thanks to Centre for Sight and Sheraz Daya.

Dr Daya explains things extremely well to a layman. Dr Daya has tremendous care and is nothing short of a perfectionist! His knowledge is second to none and all his actions are measured with extreme care and executed with the utmost accuracy. This view is based on seeing two other surgeons who are also leading specialists in the same areas. Mr Daya in my opinion is simply the best! The team made me feel comfortable, safe and kept me informed with what was taking place. They even called home after my operation to see if everything went well! Words cannot express how lucky I was to have been treated in my opinion by the worlds best!

My feelings from the start were that I was in the hands of a caring and highly professional company. My surgeon in particular - Mr Khan, inspired utmost confidence and was evidently meticulous in everything he did. I will not hesitate to recommend Mr Khan to anybody considering corrective eye surgery.
