1. Review of Centre for Sight Clinic
Centre for Sight is a long-standing and renowned eye surgery clinic, with three practices in London, Surrey and West Sussex. Its leading consultant eye surgeon, Mr Sheraz Daya, founded the clinic way back in 1996 with a clear mission: provide exemplary eye care to patients in facilities that are purpose-built with their needs in mind.
What makes Centre for Sight different? Centre for Sight is based on Mr Daya’s vision that better surroundings can provide a higher standard of care. Today patients get to enjoy a spa-like or luxury hotel experience, rather than the dread of most hospital surgeries.
Is there anything else I should know? As you’d expect then, this clinic also comes with the price tag that accompanies a five-star experience. Yes, the facilities are kitted out with high-end diagnostic tech and quality lenses, backed up by a team of highly trained staff. But you leave all the fancy atmosphere behind the moment you step outside the clinic, and it won’t be a priority for everyone.

On the 6th December 2004 and at the age of 47, male with –8.00 and –7.50 defective vision, I decided to have Lasik surgery. Having worn glasses for the last 40 years for once I had the opportunity to correct my vision. I had chosen the centre for sight by a personnel recommendation and with my excellent results I would now also recommend them. The laser treatment was by Dr Sheraz Daya. It was both quick and painless. Upon completion I had the feeling of was that it? If there was any pain it was caused by my own pre operation fears. These worries were of course completely unfounded. Within 20mins of treatment I had acquired driving standard vision. I know this has been said before but “It was a miracle I can now see”. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes. I am also so grateful to Dr Daya for his professionalism, I will never forget his treatment as it has changed my life. If only it was available 20 years ago.

I had to start wearing glasses from around 9 years old and last time I had my eyes checked they were around -6.0 with astigmatism, to be honest I struggled to see much without glasses. I tried contacts but never really got on with them. So last year I decided to see what could be done surgically and looked up the centre for sight and went to a consultation. The comment was that I could be treated and the results should be good. Only a week or so later I was back for the treatment. I sat waiting and to be honest nervous but the staff were always around asking if all was ok. Then it was my turn. In I went, the proceedure is strange but not at all painful in any way. You are awake and one of the nurses even held my hand at one point to reassure me. You are told what and how they are doing the procedure. 20 minutes later and out I came both eyes complete. My eyes were a little fuzzy but the vision was better. As told I kept my eyes closed that evening and went to bed again no pain. Wow, the next morning was amazing I openned my eyes and could see the time on a clock across the room, there was no pain. I kept looking at the clock in case next time I couldnt see it. My sight has got better and better as the healing took place. Today I write this testimonial as I have just had my last check up and the centre with Mr Giledi and can now say that I have better than 20/20 in my right eye and 20/20 in my left from -6.0. I can highly recommend the centre, I was treated fairly and politely at all times. My surgeon Mr Giledi was helpful, informative and accepted that I wanted to ask questions about alot of things. I would like to thank all of the staff at the centre for a life changing proceedure I will always be grateful. If anyone has questions and wants a real person to discuss the proceedure with please email me on adiandvic@aol.com, you will only hear praise and the words if you wear glasses or contacts have this done, the results are truely amazing.

Mr Daya performed surgery on my brother and me on the 1st of November 2004. We decided to make it a family affair! The whole procedure was most efficiently run with great care being afforded to each patient. After most comprehensive pre-operative tests performed at Harley Street we opted for Intralase surgery which proved to be an excellent choice. We have made an excellent recovery thanks to a superb surgeon and his caring staff (especially Carolina!). We cannot recommend Mr Daya and his team more highly and would strongly advise prospective patients to opt for Intralase when having sight correction surgery. I found all the information I required at the following link http://www.centreforsight.com/intralasik/intralasik.htm

In early December I have had surgery by Mr. Giledi using the 'tissue saving' method and it was a complete success! Due to my high prescrition (-12 and -10.5 respectively) I had been turned down by Ultralase in the past. However Dr. Giledi was very confident that he could correct my sight, so that I would never need glasses again; a dream for me since I have needed them since I was 10. 2 days after the surgery my vision was 20/20 and it is still improving. It is close to a miracle and I hope that other very shortsighted patients will be able to profit from this procedure.

Excellent care from Mr Giledi and all his staff throughout all stages of my treatment. Absolutely delighted with the post-op results, and 6 weeks after the procedure I am thoroughly enjoying beings 'specs' free.

After some time sitting on the fence I finally plucked up the courage to have lasik done. I wish I had gone sooner.I am a musician and seeing with glasses or contact lenses had its limitations. My sight is 20/20 in my left eye and 20/16 in my right. I had no complications and am delighted with the results. Many thanks to the surgical team who looked after me.

I am the General Manager at the Centre for Sight and until Saturday 23/04/05 wore glasses and contacts for 23 years and had a prescription of -4.50 & -2.75. For over 2 years I have thought about having the surgery, yet still held back going ahead due to my nervousness. The thought of a blade creating the flap was a big issue to me. The introduction of Intralase at the Centre last August made me a lot less apprehensive though because it is now a completely blade free procedure with greater safety assurances. After speaking to the other 4 members of staff who have already had the procedure, I opted to go for it and although very nervous and tearful prior to the event, I felt completely at ease once in the laser room. I did not find the procedure at all painful and felt it went very quickly. Directly after surgery I could immediately see the clock at the foot of the room and within 1 hour my vision was 20/20. The only tears then were tears of joy! We have another member of staff waiting to have IntraLasik and I cannot recommend it highly enough – I can honestly say it has already changed my life – getting up to my 7 month old baby in the night without first finding my glasses is a real bonus!

Overall I am very pleased with the results of the IntraZyoptix surgery. The surgery itself was painless, with only some slight discomfort initially with the suction to both eyes. The day following surgery one eye was perfect and after two weeks both eyes were fine and the vision was excellent. You have to be patient as your eyes heal at different rates!

At the age of 43 I have worn glasses for 41 years. Hours after the Intralasik procedure with Mr Giledi I could see the kitchen clock for the first time without my glasses and read the label on a tin of beans. The following morning I could see the alarm clock. There was no pain, it was just a little uncomfortable after a few hours sleep I was fine. I should have had it done years ago.
