Before surgery my vision was -8 and therefore I couldn’t read a book, or see facial expressions etc without using my glasses. I would definitely recommend Centre for Sight. I’d dwelt on surgery for 10 years since my initial ...Read more

1. Review of Centre for Sight Clinic

Centre for Sight is a long-standing and renowned eye surgery clinic, with three practices in London, Surrey and West Sussex. Its leading consultant eye surgeon, Mr Sheraz Daya, founded the clinic way back in 1996 with a clear mission: provide exemplary eye care to patients in facilities that are purpose-built with their needs in mind.

What makes Centre for Sight different? Centre for Sight is based on Mr Daya’s vision that better surroundings can provide a higher standard of care. Today patients get to enjoy a spa-like or luxury hotel experience, rather than the dread of most hospital surgeries.

Is there anything else I should know? As you’d expect then, this clinic also comes with the price tag that accompanies a five-star experience. Yes, the facilities are kitted out with high-end diagnostic tech and quality lenses, backed up by a team of highly trained staff. But you leave all the fancy atmosphere behind the moment you step outside the clinic, and it won’t be a priority for everyone.

3. Centre for Sight Prices

On average, 723 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid between £2,400 and £3,615 per eye for laser eye and lens replacement surgery at Centre for Sight since 2002. These costs are slightly above the average price range of £1,789 and £3,152 – high street clinics such as Optical Express and Ultralase were the cheapest places we found.

Here are the fixed costs of eye surgery at Centre for Sight:

  • Laser eye surgery cost: £2,300 per eye (from £77 per month)
  • IntraLASIK Supracor cost: £2,575 per eye (from £86 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost: £2,975 per eye (from £85 per month)
  • Implantable contact lens cost (toric lenses): £3,450 per eye (from £93 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (monofocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)
  • Cataract surgery cost (multifocal): £2,975 – £3,575 per eye (from £94 per month)

Your costs will include: a free consultation (for laser surgery), the full cost of the procedure, a 24-hour service line, and aftercare for one year after treatment. Laser eye surgery consultations are free, but lens replacement surgery assessments cost £295.

Centre for Sight also provides interest free pay monthly finance options over a generous 24 months – with some clinics, you’ll be paying 11% APR after the first year. As with most clinics, there’s a deposit of £500 to secure the surgery, but this cost comes off the total cost.

The process from first enquiry about LASIK through to the surgery itself has been absolutely fantastic. All members at each stage have been courteous and professional taking any feelings of discomfort away immediately. Mr Daya inspired a feeling of absolute self-assurance and confidence and I felt immediately that I was in the hands of a world leader in his field. The results have been phenomenal and I’m looking forward to years of perfect sight.

Why I chose Centre for Sight?
My mother had surgery at Centre for Sight in 2002 and spoke very highly of the organisation. It’s my vision, why risk going anywhere but the best!

My Refractive Lens Exchange journey at Centre for Sight has been positive. Mr Daya has been very friendly and his one-to-one approach to patients makes a real difference which stands out. This is why I specifically chose Centre for Sight to be treated, as compared to my negative experiences with other private clinics. I highly recommend Centre for Sight.

Mr Daya and all the staff I have met at Centre for Sight I want to say thank you!

I was extremely nervous on the day of my operation but was looked after so well by all the nurses. I have never experienced such genuine care at any medical centre so I am very grateful.

You have changed my life and given me a chance to become a fighter pilot which is all I have ever wanted to do. If I make it I will take you for a flight, if i don’t I guess I can train as an Ophthalmologist !…

Thank you again

I first saw Mr Daya in 2009, having discussed a newsletter article he had contributed to with my optometrist. At my initial consultation Mr Daya explained the condition of my cornea in my right eye and as I was using “piggy back lenses” and my tolerance was good I should continue as is and see him regularly.

Over the course of 5 years my tolerance deteriorated as my right cornea continued to thin. In November 2014 it was agreed a partial corneagraph was now necessary. The procedure took place the Centre for Sight in East Grinstead, a modern purpose built clinic.

Although slightly anxious there was no need as the care from the team was 5 star! The procedure was completely painless and the local anaesthetic meant you were soon up and about.

The following day on return to the clinic my bandage was removed and the level of sight, unaided, in my right eye was remarkable. I have had Keratoconus since I was 15 and whilst my left cornea settled in my 30’s my right cornea continued to steepen. As a result my sight unaided was minimal, people and objects blurred, reading was only possible if the book was at the end of my nose.

In the weeks following my procedure my sight in my right eye has continued to improve, I can see people, objects and even watch the TV unaided whilst resting my left eye by taking my lens out. I haven’t been able to do this for 35 years.

It is 5 weeks on from my procedure but I cannot emphasise what a difference the cornealgraph has made to my quality of life. I would stress to anyone struggling with lens tolerance as a result of Keratoconus to visit the Centre for Sight. The care and professionalism they have provided me is second to none and of course the unique procedure My Daya uses improve significantly the recovery and reduces the risk of corneal rejection.

Cannot find enough words to praise the whole team at Centre for Sight, everybody was so helpful and professional.

I have been to many clinics before going ahead with my procedure here
at the centre for sight.
from the very first phone call i was made to feel welcome all the staff and doctors are the most wonderful and helpfull.

A bit about my surgery i had a contact lenses implanted i was very short sighted and thanks to Dr Daya i can know see 20/20 its only been a week so I’m still recovering the surgery was not painful and i don’t remember the surgery.
My eyes where done one day apart and they were patched up for one day each.

My eyesight is know very clear and I assume will only get better after healing is complete its great to see clearer than I ever have and outdoors my eyesight is just amazing I can see things like stones on the floor from far away.

DR Sheraz Daya is a well known surgeon and I did my research for 2-3 years hes the best I found in England he is honest and confident and easy to talk to. For me I wasn’t too concerned about price because quality comes first. I’ve been to clinics before where they’ve told me to opt for lenses that are more expensive but Dr Daya explained i wouldn’t need them which indicated to me his honesty.

All the staff at the centre for sight are amazing I felt comfortable all the way
through for my four days i was there. before surgery i was very nervous but all the nurses kept me calm.
If you are looking to get surgery done then i highly recommend centre for sight.
A huge thank you for everyone at the clinic for making my stay with you easy

I have been most impressed by every aspect of the procedure – from the friendly professional welcome at reception, all the nurses, assistants and the wonderful anaesthetist. The customer service is world class. Thanks to the whole team!

Immediate improvement in vision both near and distant. Need for spectacles eliminated.

I was desperate to have the treatment done so was very relieved/excited when Mr Daya told me I was suitable for Intralase. My treatment was booked in for the following week but then I started getting very nervous about the procedure itself. Fortunately, the staff at the East Grinstead were great and allowed me to ask all of my questions before I signed my consent form (and paid for the treatment). Thanks to all for making me feel at ease (and Mr Daya for his supreme professionalism). I felt like everything was totally under control at all times. I’ve followed all of the post-op instructions to the letter and so far have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Just 24 hours on I could read the time on my alarm clock for the fist time in 20 years! I was really pleased to have a follow up appointment the next day for reassurance that everything was ok – and it seems that I have better than 20/20 vision!(although my left eye is still catching up with my right) Thanks again and I would highly recommend Centre For Sight and Mr Daya to anyone considering laser eye treatment.
