1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

Lisa, I hope you made the best decision because after all the research I've done on this issue I find Accuvision to be world-class in their treatments. They do charge more than other clinics but they offer more. No-one else does what they do right now in the UK or USA. The extra £350 you complain about is the difference between an average and an excellent outcome! Good luck.

Without doubt the best money i've ever spent. My prescription was -8.50 and -6.75 ie. i've worn lenses/glasses since the year zip. I had intended checking out other clinics, but after 2 relaxed, non pressured hours with Nick, i was convinced i had found the right place. Nick noticed straight away the extended blood vessels in my eyes from over use of contact lenses (my optician had told me just 2 weeks prior that i cannot wear lenses any more as a result), but accurately said it was not a problem for surgery.
Its only 24hrs on and apart from a bit of haze which i was fore-warned about, my vision is as good as with contacts. I've already told everybody i know with myopia, who are amazed having seen me scrape around many times like a mole on Sunday mornings after beers looking for my glasses (think they were letting me be the guinea pig as my eyes were the worst!)
Many thanks, truly a life changing experience

A quick update to my previous comments in reponse to some e-mails received.
My prescription was not too severe - roughly -2.00 with 1 diopter of astigmatism in each eye. I can't exactly remember what my corneal thickness was but believe it was in the range of 560 - 600 microns. No cause for concern anyway.
However, I should mention that the team at Accuvision were slightly concerned at the steepness of the cornea in a particular area that indicated some possible thinning. To minimise the risk, they cut the flap with an inferior hinge i.e. the flap is upside down when compared to the standard procedure. I was led to believe that they can do this because they have something like six different microkeratomes at their diposal and this enables them to ensure they can choose the one most suited to your procedure. None of the other clinics I attended saw the thinning as a problem, but I was comforted that Accuvision were prepared to carry out this non-standard procedure in order to minimise the risk of future corneal problems.
Now five days post surgery. Still very pleased - minor fluctuations still being experienced, distance vision is great, vision at reading distance is variable, but manageable. I'll find out more when I go for my next check up tomorrow.

I thought I would ring Accuvision up as they appear to have a good write up from most people. The first thing I asked was about the fee and I have been advised that the fee is actually £1,250 per eye and not £900 as stated above. I was also very dismayed to be on the receiving end of a very patronising young lady, which leads me to believe I have made the right decision in choosing Maxivision to have my surgery.

Having attended consultations at three different clinics, Accuvision were the obvious choice for the following reasons:
1) The consultation with Vik was by far the most thorough. Vik was extremely knowledgeable and also the most forthcoming about possible outcomes and potential risks.
2) I was convinced that the Accuwave technology offered the best solution for me especially as this customised wavefront treatment offered the best outcome in terms of night vision complications. I was also strongly comforted that the Allegreto laser would remove less of my cornea than many other widely available lasers.
3) I got a genuine feeling that both Vik and Daryus had a very strong belief that they were offering the best LASIK solution, and an equally strong desire to ensure the best possible outcome.
4) They had the best looking clinic. (Not a major factor, but it helps.)
So, two days ago I had the surgery at Accuvision. It was quicker than going to the opticians for an eye test. (Well, almost - with the length of time you have to wait at some opticians!!) Surgery went very smoothly - Daryus and William Ayliffe (Surgeon) appeared supremely confident and nothing happened to give me any reason to doubt them. I had a few problems focussing on the green light with my right eye, but the left was no problem. The one area I was concerned about - the placing of the suction ring prior to cutting the flap - was a little uncomfortable but certainly no pain. Post-surgery I was advised things had gone well, and sent home with a protective bandage contact lens in each eye. Things were a little uncomfortable for the next few hours - eyes kept shut most of the time. Thereafter, it was just the bandage contact lens in my left eye that was irritating the hell out of me. Returned for my 24hr check-up the next day, and was mighty relieved to have that lens removed. Instant relief was followed by swift improvement in vision. Virtually 20/20 at 24 hours post-op.
I am now 50 hours post-op and the eyes are feeling increasingly comfortable. i.e. they are losing the gritty feeling. My vision is already better than it was with my contact lenses before the op. There are moments of vision quality fluctuation, but that is to be expected for the next couple of weeks.
This board was very helpful in reassuring me that Accuvision was a good choice, my thanks to all those who posted here, I am pleased to add my name to the list of satisfied Accuvision customers and thank Daryus and his team for an excellent result.

Here is my update: I had an appointment on Thursday, 22nd August 2002 and am so very happy with the outcome. So happy I went out that night to celebrate again!(Each time I see Accuvision I seem to be celebrating) I just couldn't stop smiling all the way home, but then again from the start that is the effect Accuvision has had on me so that is nothing new!! My sight was tested and my left eye is still 20/20 and when my right eye was tested it has improved and also reached 20/20 vision so that means that my sight has stabilized and both eyes are the same vision now. This is so amazing coming from someone who until 20th June (when I had my op) never had 20/20 vision, my vision was a line below. Also, I had an abberometer test (post-op) which showed that at least 70% of my abberations were removed which is fantastic, so Accuvision don't just correct your prescription but also correct your own personal prescription which makes a tremendous difference to the outcome. Like as well as getting rid of my short-sightedness Accuvision also got rid of my coma abberation. Before my op when I had the abberometer test it was discovered that I had a coma abberation. Vikesh explained to me that a coma abberation is normally found in someone with large pupils even though you don't have to necessary have large pupils to get a coma abberation. My pupils have never been large so I never suspected that I had effects/problems in my eyes which people with large pupils suffer from. I always thought people with large pupils had problem with night glare so when I was told despite having normal-sized pupils I had this coma abberation I was quite surprised as I always thought that someone who has coma abberation would have problems with night-glare especially after having the op. In fact I can honestly say that since my operation my night vision is notably better than before, constantly improving, and I have experienced no worsening night vision, no night-glares or anything like that. If things appear brighter it is actually because I can now see them clearly!! When Vikesh mentioned the coma abberation, another part of a jigsaw puzzle finally came into place. I always found that although I never had night-glare I did suffer from poor night vision and things appeared very dim, like I hated going down steps in the dark - I could hardly see them - but didn't realise how poor my vision was till after the op. Now it has changed my life. My night vision as well as my day vision never fails to continue to surprise me and I could not be happier with the outcome. It is incredible waking up and seeing all the details in everyday life which I didn't notice before the operation simply because I couldn't see it!! Also thank you Vikesh for your time and explaining a bit about the abberation to me, I found it fasinating and as I mentioned earlier, it explains why I experienced the problems I had before my op. My next check-up is in 6 months time + I was told that there is the possibility that my vision will continue to improve and exceed 20/20 but even if it doesn't that is ok - I am so deliriously happy having 20/20 vision, I never dreamt in my wildest dreams that I would have such good, clear, crisp vision all thanks to Accuvision.
Again ....a big thank you to everyone in Accuvision, you truly are an amazing Team who perform miracles.
As I said before:
It's a whole new world ...

When I had money left to me from when my Grandpa and Grandad died, I knew straight away what I wanted to spend the money on, I couldn't think of anything I'd rather have than to be able to see! Although for me, contact lenses were far better than glasses, I still felt they took away my spontaneity, I want to travel and learn to surf, and fall asleep on the sofa/anywhere I end up!! I had to wait till I was 20 and my eyes had stopped growing, and when I went for the consultation and Vic said my eyes were suitable I couldn't believe it- I had always prepared myself for wearing contacts forever, this really was a miracle!
When it came to the operation I was so glad I had chosen Accuvision because they really are experts. All the way through the consultation they had been honest and open with me and had nothing to hide. All my questions were answered truthfully,(and I asked LOADS!!) so I trusted them completely. It was that trust that got me through the operation along with the support and genuine friendliness of Darius and Mr.Aycliffe.
I just feel so so so lucky now, my eyes are free from contacts and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The operation is like a rollercoaster of emotions, and you know it’s going to be scary, but you've got a strong sturdy seatbelt. After 2 weeks, my eyes have settled, I've got off the rollercoaster and every day I'm still buzzing at how amazing it was. I have no regrets about spending all that money because it is the best thing I've ever done for myself. My eyes are surprising me every day, and all I can say is you won't believe it until you see it for yourself! Thank you so much to everyone at Accuvision xxx

Had wave guided LASIK surgery (surgeon:Daryus) on 20/6/02. Wave guided cost 3000, normal LASIK 2500 - I was told I needed wave guided because of poor night vision (poor contrast distinction in low light). Initial prescription -3.50 (both eyes). Vision now 20/10 ie. I could read the smallest line on the test chart! Staff very helpful - see the article in the Daily Mirror of 25/7/02 for a positive account from a patient who experiencd complications after surgery (which is always a small risk). Staff are aware of this website - I chose Accuvision as it was the only clinic that everyone who had contacted it gave 5/5 to when I was loooking in May. After my checkup today they gave me the new web address... Still, have to say they were excellent.

I had been considering having my eyes treated for over a year and was recomended to Accuvision by a work colleague. My concerns were that my prescription was very high (-10 with -1 astigmatism) and that I have very large pupils. During the consultation with Vikash it was confirmed that with earlier technology my prescription would have resulted in being turned away, but it was possible to return my eyes to 'normal' vision without compromising the cornea thickness, however I might have glare from lights when driving at night. As this is a problem I already had with contact lenses there was nothing to lose! Vik was very patient, thorough and advised me of all the risks etc. which was important.
Well I went ahead with the treatment! On the day I was very nervous, but all the staff, especially the surgeon Mr. Ayliffe, were patient and comforting. After the treatment everything went exactly as advised. My eyes were light sensitive and felt like they had soap in them and wanted to stay shut for about 4 hours. After 6 hours I was able to see reasonably clearly without those dreaded spectacles, and after a good nights sleep I was able to see clearly. My family helped me with the eye drops that were prescribed and they were surprised that there was no redness or sign of anything having been done to the eyes. At the routine test the following day it was confirmed that I now had 20/20 vision again; the first time in 25 years and a better result than I had hoped for. I am now planning a holiday where I will be able to swim etc. rather than sit at the pool side with my contact lenses in.
I am now recommending this treatment and Accuvision to all my friends who are 'optically challenged' and only wish I had had it done sooner.

Just a quick update. Went for my first week check on Friday. Vision has fluctated a bit over the last week - tends to be worse when im tired. Have had no pain, no dry eyes and my eyes feel totally normal - I have to keep reminding myself that I had my eyes corrected just over a week ago.
Anyway had my week check up and was told that my right eye is better than 20/20 and my left is 20/20 - excellent result. Eyes have healed really well and no problems with the flaps. And considering my prescription I couldnt have wished for more.
I have to be checked again in six weeks and hopefully the result will be much the same and who knows it may even be better.
I am happy to answer any questions etc. so please feel free to email me.
I would just like to say thanks to everyone at Accuvision - I can honestly say its changed my life.
