1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

4. AccuVision Review: The Verdict

It also features as one of the best laser eye surgery clinics in the UK, as well as making our list of the best laser eye surgery in London for raving customer reviews about its professional staff.

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

This is my 2 month report back.. In my previous post, I said I was 20/20 in my right eye and just under in my left eye after 1 week. Well, 8 weeks later I am now 20/15 in my right eye and just under 20/20 in my left eye - FANTASTIC!!. I didn't actually notice my eyes getting better, but when it came to reading the chart at Accuvision, it became apparent that they were. The service etc is excelllent at Accuvision and I am extremely pleased with my results. It was painless, quick (surgery took less than 8 minutes for both eyes) and the results have been perfect. I know some people have had experiences of grittiness in the eye, dry eyes, starburst around lights etc, but I had NONE of these symptoms. My prescription was approx -4 in both eyes with wide pupil dilation but no other probs. I have managed to avoid rubbing my eyes in the 8 week period which is a lot easier than you would think, when you get your head around it. Overall, I would recommend it as the resutls have been perfect. Do your research first in additon to reading this website, but as far as Accuvision goes- they have exceeded my expectations! Thanks Vik, Joan, Daryus, Mike etc.........

well this is a year & half update for +6 & +6.5 with big astigmatisms. It was scary, it was expensive & my eye sight still fluctuates (i have one bad day per three weeks where i would not drive if i knew how to). I've been to an indpendant optisions who said i had over 2020 vision & slight astigmatisms & when the looked at my last prescription nearly fell of the seat in amazement & now recomments it to customers who ask as my eyes are so healthy & vision so good. I would do it again, i am always recommending it to people & have so many friends who had it done i wonder if i could get some money back...? please feel free to contact me for specifics i have posted before & am always happy to talk about my experiences.

My story is fairly simple; About November 2002 I read all the websites and found the clinics that were reviewed best. Made a list of the top ones. I thought that whichever of the top rated clinics I go to there should be little difference in the outcome probability. It’s just in the chance/luck of the operation if you have any problems. Accuvision was in walking distance so I thought that’s good enough for me! I walked into the Fulham branch on a Friday late November 2002. Had my initial consultation and was found to be suitable -5 or -6 in both eyes (Don’t remember exactly). Made an appointment for next the available space - Monday. Walk to the Accuvision on Monday. Had operation. Waited about 30 min for eyes to settle. Left, and hailed a Taxi to drive me the 5 mins home. Vision little foggy and unclear for a couple of days. By about 1 week vision was excellent. On return to clinic found vision was 20/20 in one eye and one line better than 20/20 in the other. Very happy. Almost a year later not a single problem and have forgotten that I was ever short sighted at all! When having lasik you roll a die and take a chance as to the outcome. The chances are small that anything will go wrong but it can always happen. I rolled my dice and ended up with better than 20/20. Accuvision was excellent and everything workout great for me

I decided to get my eyes done about a year ago and looked into various eye clinics and after doing a bit of research was a bit dismayed that most eye clinics only treat hyperopia (long sight) up to around +3 dioptres. I have or did have a high prescription, my right eye was +6.00 with astigmatism of +1.75, and the left eye was +6.50 with astigmatism of +1.75. However I saw the advert in the paper for accuvision and how they can treat patients with high prescriptions with wavefront guided lasik. I phoned up for a booklet and let it at that. Fast forward to the beginning of June and having two weeks off I decided to see if I was compatible in having the surgery. I phoned up for a consultation and went down the following week on the 11th of June. The consultation was roughly an hour long with Vikash, it was found that I did indeed had a high level of long sight, the thickness of the cornea and the dilation of the pupil was measured, as well as the overall health of the eye. The consultation was very professional and what struck me, was while Vikash pointed out that Accuvision could treat my eyes because they had the technology, what was also pointed out was the fact that this is surgery and things (although extremely rarely) can go wrong. The cornea could get infected amongst other things, and because of my prescription there was only a 10% chance of achieving 20/20 vision. On hearing this my thoughts were how professional Accuvision were in telling you the risks that can happen as well as the benefits and were not just after your money. I concluded in my mind that indeed I had chosen the right clinic. I was compatible to my delight, the cost would be £3600 and I was left to think it over. I had thought about the surgery all weekend and decided that I would get it done. I phoned up on Monday the 16th June and it turned out that there was a slot available that afternoon. I got down to the clinic signed the confirmation form and had the surgery done with MR Chad Rostron. I was a bit nervous at first, but during the operation I started to relax it didn’t hurt and the only real discomfort was at the start when I had the eye drops put in. Yes it is true! parts of your cornea being vaporised does smell a bit but it is not as bad as made out, I think! Coming out of the operation I was groggy and sat down for roughly ½ hour at the end of which my first lot of eye drops were administered, and Vikash explained that they were to be taken every hour for at least 6 hours and the eyes were to be kept closed for as much time as possible. I woke up the next morning and I could see everything, a friend of mine had sent me a text asking how it had gone and I was more than pleased to be able to see the letters on my phone to text them back, as well as reading the paper without the need of glasses. That afternoon I went back to Accuvision for my 1 day post op check-up and I was 20/20 overall being 20/20 in my right eye and 20/30 in my left, with both eyes healing nicely. I was more than pleased. Vikash took the contact lenses out that you wear for the first night that help the healing process and said that my eyes may fluctuate and gave me some more drops to put over the coming days leading to my 1 week post op check-up. I wake up the next morning and am dismayed that my eyes had fluctuated quite badly, I take a walk into town to go to the bank to get the bankers draft to pay Accuvision and wonder if it is worth paying them!! I can read a number plate of a car from only 8 paces. However I have to remind myself that it was said that my eyes might fluctuate and I did have a high prescription (I did send the cheque to them though!). Accuvision were right in the days leading up to my 1 week post op check my eyes had strengthen I could now read a number plate from 57 paces. I get down to the clinic in the afternoon and my eyes are still 20/20 with my right eye being 20/20 and my left being 20/40. I make an appointment for my 1 month post op check. I go down to Accuvision for my 1 month post op check with Vikash my sight overall is still 20/20 my right eye being 20/15! And my left eye being 20/30 -2 (reading some of the letters on the 20/30 line bar two of them) with a slight astigmatism. The eyes have healed nicely. I and Vikash discuss it and we come to the conclusion that I am very happy my sight overall being 20/20 and although the left eye is not as strong as the right is not viable to perform surgery on the left eye with the left eye as it is. I make an appointment for my 3 month post op check and it on the 31st of October. I am now at 10 weeks post op writing this. I have had no complications and am glad that I had the surgery done. To those with a high prescription and/or are afraid of having surgery go and have a consultation you never know. I thought I would be wearing glasses for the rest of my life now thankfully I don’t, and I have Accuvision to thank for that. If any of you who are reading this and have a high prescription like mine or you are a bit nervous and have any questions feel free to e-mail me at leetaylor55@hotmail.com. All the best, Lee. I had my surgery on 3rd of July which was excellent adn definitely not worth worrying about for as long as I did. I was -3.75 in both eyes, which became 20/20 in my right eye and just under in my left after only 7 days. Everything about your eyes continuing to heal is true, as mine feel better (albeit slightly - don't expect massive change on a daily basis) every day. The best thing is the fact that the op really is painless. The only thing I felt would be best described as mild discomfort when the clamps were put on my eyes. The actual surgical stuff (cutting, laser etc) was absolutely painless. having a filling is 100 times as painful..easily. I recommend Accuvision to everyone because they are excellent. Everyone from Vik who did my initial consultation to Darius (who is excellent at making you feel relaxed, especially when you are lying on the laser bed worrying to yourself). Thanks also to Mike who reassured me brilliantly on the phone as well as immediately post op, and to Joan for further excellent post op care and 1 week check up. I am about to book my next check up (1 month) so I post again with any relevant changes. Basically Accuvision are as good as you are going to get. Read about every clinic on this website, then see the cases that Accuvision treat that others don't. Yes, I would do it again, and yes Accuvision were brilliant for me.

Dear Dave Windle, I love the idea that performing hyperopic lasik on a dimpled cornea involves just "zapping" the problem away. Making a cornea more curved is incredibly difficult, and they tend to regress. If that cornea has already been dimpled centrally in a myopic treatment the problems are increased (putting it mildly). Some people think that a tight contact lens and Acular (I think) can work in a case like yours - you might want to ask your opthalmologist. I'm not getting at anyone, but given that everyone who uses this site has, obviously, access to the web, I am amazed that more people have not made use of what the web contains.

An update. I had Lasik just over 3 months ago (28th April). The results are not perfect yet and it does worry me. I was shortsighted, but am now longsighted especially in the left eye , +1.25 at last check , which seems like quite a high error as I was only -3.75 before! Accuvision keep telling me to wait, which I am doing, but I am plagued with eye strain and headaches. I do not want to get glasses as I paid 3600 quid not to have them!! All at Accuvision are great and very professional, but it all boils down to the vision in the end and until it is satisfactory I will not rate them any higher. I do have faith that they will sort it in the end though.Darius said that if there was any difference between the two eyes after three months that they would 'zap it away', they have told me to wait for a couple more months though, and then I will hold Darius to his word.

Just a quick update. I had my eyes done early December 02. After going back for my 6 month check last week, i cannot stress enough how good the staff are. They still remembered me and the problems i experienced and were concerned for me still. (I would like to just clarify that the problem was servere bruising to my eyes, but that it is completley gone & there are no negative effects from this). You only have one pair of eyes - trust them to Accuvision...

My son, recently turned 19, had always been severely short-sighted with astigmatism, and even as a toddler often had to wear thick glasses with patches over one eye in an attempt to strengthen his weaker eye. The only way he could read was with things directly in front of his face, and it was too much of a strain to read books. He has suffered many knock backs with his eyes over the years, the latest being having to give up driving lessons after failing the sight test. I was advised that Scott`s sight might never be good enough to drive. He had been waiting for months to see the eye specialist at the local hospital without success, when my brother rang and told me about an advertisement he had seen for `Accuvision`, who could treat patients that others could not, and I contacted them immediately. Before travelling 800 miles from Shetland to London I was worried with all the set backs that Scott had experienced that this might be just another waste of time, so tried to get as much information as possible from the internet, and decided to speak to `Moorfields` eye hospital. They informed me that with my sons` prescription the very best result that we could expect would be –5. I felt disillusioned on hearing this, but spoke to `Accuvison` once more who assured me that if Scott were suitable for treatment, they would expect a far better result than -5. The consultation went very well, and Scott had the surgery the following day, 3 July 2003. I don`t think words can describe the elation I felt when the surgeon gave the thumbs up sign and described how well the surgery had gone. Scott’s` right eye is now –0.50 and left eye is –1. He thinks that it is wonderful to wake up and see things, and to be able to read normally. Although for driving he will wear glasses of a very small prescription, that`s a small price to pay. After watching him struggle for so many years it really does seem miraculous. I would like to conclude that Scott & I found Accuvision to be a great team of helpful friendly competent people who are quite justified in exuding such confidence in their ability, when they are able to produce such amazing results. True experts in their field. We really cannot thank them enough. I am already saving up for my daughter who is also shortsighted and would like to have surgery at Accuvision.

I had surgery on Monday 19th May. Accuvision were very good - the surgery was not painful - the eye clamp was a bit uncomfortable but that was all - it just felt a bit odd. Most importantly for me is that you can't really see anything happening - so many drops are put in your eyes that everything in blurred anyway. I had no pain afterwards and my eyes didn't stream at all. I am pleased with the results, although a 'little' disappointed as my eyes are not as good as they were with my contact lenses - I have 20/20 vision with both eyes but slightly less than 20/20 individually - I must have had better than 20/20 with my contact lenses but didn't realise it. Apparently, it could still improve - time will tell. I would highly recommend Accuvision - the consultation was very thorough and the aftercare has been fab.
