1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

I went to Accuvision having been advised by another clinic that my corneas were too thin for normal Lasik and I wouuld need to wait for wavefront technology which they didn't have yet. A few months later I saw Accuvision advertising this technology and having spent ages on their website I decided to go for a consultation at Parsons Green. I was hugely impressed with the great care taken over this. The battery of tests I was put through lasted nearly 2 hours and the final result was that yesthe corneas were quite thin but they could treat my eyes. It was going to be expensive because of this tricky prescription (£1800 per eye!) but they were confident of a good result. I went away to think about it for a couple of months and to make sure it could be afforded and then made the decision to go ahead. There was no pressure from Accuvision at any stage and they were quite comfortable with a number of extra questions from me at various times. MY wife came with me on surgery day and the whole procedure went exactly as described. Slightly uncomfortable perhaps but not actually painful. Very quick and carried out by people who made me relax simply by their professionalism and easy friendship. Keeping your eyes closed whilst being driven across London on the way home was not something I would recommend to anyone and at that stage I felt quite car-sick. My suggestion would be to have the surgery in the morning and then go to a local hotel so that you can be reasonably refreshed for the next visit 24 hours later. My experience was exactly as suggested in the literature. Vision was substantially improved after 4 hours and really good after 24 hours. Now, some 5 months since the treatment I am just absolutely delighted at the results. I occasionally need reading glasses for close-up work but only indoors....if I am outside, natural daylight means no glasses needed. My latest test at Accuvision showed better than 20/20 vision. THe staff at Accuvision were quite superb. My first consultation was with Joan and her blend of professionalism and Irish friendliness was just what I needed in the way of reassurance....I probably would have chickened out at some point but for the trust that she engendered. Incidentally she had had the surgery herself and was a great example. Ten out of ten Accuvision and thank you! I don't think the process could have been done better in any way!

I have been a contact lens/spectacles wearer for over 20 years and when I heard of laser surgery, I wondered how it would feel to live without glasses or lenses. Booked a consultation and I was very impressed with the overall assessment procedure. Vikash was very thorough in discussing my eyes, the actual procedure, what to expect pre and post operation and also in answering all my questions. I had to call the clinic twice for more information before I finally decided to go ahead with it. My operation involved undercorrecting one eye for reading and the other eye has perfect vision for distance, ie monovision. It is now almost 3 months since I had the operation and aside from having dry eyes every now and again, everything is great. I can only thank everyone at Accuvision for all the support they have given before, during and after the operation. If anyone wants to ask me any question, please feel free to email me. I will be very happy to help.

Prior to visiting Accuvision i had been turned down by every laser eye surgery the length and breadth of the country! This was due to my difficult prescription: -12 both eyes with +3 astigmatism and thin corneas. BLIND AS THE PREVERBIAL BAT! I had almost given up hope, and had even considered ICL's, however i was fortunate enough to hear of Accuvision through a friend of a friend. After a quick discussion on the phone Accuvision were confident that they could do something for me as they specialised in difficult cases such as mine. Even though i remained sceptical i booked for a consultation with a provisional booking for surgery the next day and a check-up appointment for the day after. I set off from Glasgow on the day of the consultation with the full backing of friends and family which hepled settle my nerves although given my previous experiences i didnt hold out much hope of being suitable for treatment. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and after all of the measurements had been done they advised me of what i could expect in terms of correction. They anticipated that i would be left with approx a -1 prescription which for me was very acceptable given my thick glasses and specialist contact lenses. I went ahead with the surgery the next day and everything went smoothly, the whole procedure was handled very professionally and i felt totally at ease. Afterwards i only suffered slight discomfort and by the next day i walked along the street and could see signs and read posters. Amazing!. At the check-up my vision was measured at -1 both eyes and now 6 weeks later both are at -.075. I have not worn glasses since although i will get a pair for night time driving. My eyes have been fine and i have not felt any discomfort or suffered from dry eyes. My life has changed dramatically and i cant thank the staff at Accuvision enough. I would recommend Accuvision to anyone who asked.

I had my eyes lasered, using wavefront guided lasik at accuvision on 02/06/02, basically coming up 3 months ago, and little did I appreciate at that time, that that day would be the first day of the rest of my life - with the freedom that I had never had before in my life. for most people, being able to see clearly is something taken for granted, for me it was a gift, a miracle. I am 21, and had a -10 prescreiption in both eyes, to give u some idea, I had to hold a packet of cigarettes 2 inches from my face before i could read the "smoking kills" writing. worrying indeed. Accuvision were nothing but kind from start to finish, and are still surpassing themselves in the after treatment checkups. because of the severity of my prescription, despite such amazing technology, I was told the best that I could hope for would be 20:20, and at worst, a -1, so basically still functional vision, which i might add, in would have been ecstatic with. I had a checkup about a month ago, so just slightly less than 2 months post op, and I see better than 20:20 in both eyes, I have 135% vision, meaning I see 35% better than people with so called "perfect" vision. By using wavefront, accusvision can perfect even the slightest of imperfections on your cornea, hence, the normal "human" imperfections are removed, hence, you see better than a normal human would. Absolutely amazing, I can't thank them enough, I rarely ever miss a shot on a pool table, and can read the small print on anewspaper from 4 feet away. (you would be amazed how handy that is) My night vision, far from having any of the side effects, is also amazing, much better than before, I have no side effects from the operation, and 135% vision. Even the slight problem I had with dryness, (i have been using artifical tears) is clearing up, I used to have to use drops at least 5-10 times per day, plus once before bed, and once as soon as I got up, (sometimes more often) now, in the space of 2 months, it is unusual for me to use them more than just the once when I wake up, (and even that is lessening as time goes on). This laser experience has totally opened up my life, I really dont even believe it has sunk in yet, I still try and put my glasses on occasionally, then realise! Thankyou to accuvision, You have given me a life I could only dream about before. So go to them! theyre amazing from start to finish! I can never thank them enough! And finally, thankyou so so much to my grandparents, they paid for my operation as a 21st birthday and graduation present. thankyou so, so much nan and grandad.

Firstly, let me state that this comment is aimed at those people who have a relatively small prescription and feel that corrective surgery would be of little benefit to them. My eyesight prescription was -1.5 and -1.75. Although there are many people with larger prescriptions than mine, I still felt that my poor vision was a hinderence to my everyday life. The lack of fine detail with my vision meant I required glasses to drive, to go to the cinema, for lectures at university and for my ward based hospital work as a student physiotherapist. Since having corrective surgery in April 04, my vision has improved greatly. I have just had my 3-4 month check up and have emerged with 20/10 vision (or "superman" vision as I was informed!!)which is better than 20/20 vision. It is difficult to truly explain the effect of improved eyesight on my life. No longer having to wear glasses and no longer having to squint my eyes to recognise family or friends is a huge relief. Let me also say that the staff at Accuvision are extremely friendly and reassuring. The eye examination is very thorough and well explained. At no stage are you pressurised into having the procedure. They explain both the positive and negatives of the treatment without bias, answer all your questions, and at the end of the day, they ensure that the decision is entirely your own. As for the procedure itself, its over in seconds and is virtually painless. I highly recommend Accuvision.

I had laser surgery on 10th May this year and my eyesight is still improving everyday. I experienced excellent service from consultation, through treatement and aftercare (thanks to Vic for being so patient!!) It has made a huge difference to my life, I just wish I had been able to have it done sooner. I can now fall asleep on the sofa without my contact lenses "sticking" to my eyes and can see my alarm clock in the morning so I will have to think of another reason for being late for work! The treatment itself was painless and over within minutes and after one nights sleep I had clear vision. I would recommend Accuvision to anyone - it has totally transformed my life

They've changed my life! Made my dreams come true! Sounds corny but its TRUE! i've (sorry got to use past tense now!) i'd worn glasses since i was two years old, i'm mow 33 and am due to see a swimming pool for the first time in my life in ten days! my perscription WAS +7.25, i'd been searching for years for a clinic that could 'fix' my eyes. no one would treat me. 'very long sighted vision can't be corrected' that's all i heard. the last clinic i visited (recommended by a friend) said sorry we can't do anything for you but we know a clinic that possibly can! imagine my joy! so off i went to Fulham to the Acuvision clinic, had a few tests, nothing that i hadn't had done before and was told there and then that, they could treat my eyes! the worst bit of news i received was that i had to wear my (Thick lensed 1980's style) glasses for four weeks before my treatment! but whats four weeks out of your life? so i did it! went back and on the 16th May 2004 I had the treatment. It was at the time, one of the scariest experiences of my life. i've had several major operations during my shortish life but this was the one that sent my emotions haywire! what if it went wrong and i'd be completley blind? because my perscription was so high and i knew no one else like me, i did get a bit over emotional in the communial waiting area! i apologise to the guys that were in the same day as me, i'm sure they were calm before they saw me! The proceedure only took @20 miniutes, which includes the time spent swapping over the equipment to the other eye. You don't feel the procedure but i found the beginning a bit uncomfortable. (where they clamp your eyes open so you don't blink) when i was done, i walked out to the waiting area and lost it again- emotionally! My brother had come with me and he was looking after my hand bag and had a strong cup of tea waiting. I saw him sat there holding my glasses with the aftercare bag on the table beside him. I had never been able to see my brother without wearing my glasses or lenses and there he sat and i could see everything! I felt like a miracle had just accured & was so happy but then i felt sad and a great sense of loss, i could see my glasses and would never need to clean them & put them on again! They had been with me all my life through thick & thin i still can't throw them into that charity box! Its like i'm still mourning a life long friend. Today is 28th July 2004 and i still wake up with a big smile on my face - because i can see as soon as i open my eyes! there are mornings when i still reach out for my glasses but i can see myself doing it! its very strange! A 31 year old habbit that is going to be pleasure to break.....Thank You Acuvision XXX

+6.00 WITH 1.75 ASTIGMATISM After wearing glasses all my life I had given up all hope of being able to see without them. My prescription was so complex +6.00 in both eyes with high astigmatism, no other clinic could help. I read in the Daily Mail about a special case, the patient had + 8.00 prescription, and I was in awe of his story. I rang accuvision and was seen within days. From the very begining the care was superb. I was first introduced to Joan who did my initial test and confirmed that they could indeed help. A week later I had my treatment and could see immediatley, I had no pain or discomfort to worry about. As I am a bus driver I was advised to take a few day off work. I am now back at work and looking forward to seeing my friends I have made at Accuvision when I go back for my one month post op test. This is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I have been given a new life.

As a "Boots Reject" I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I first walked into Accuvision's clinic. I was gutted when the consultant at Boots told me, because of an irregular shaped pupil, they were unable to help me. He suggested that Accuvision may be able to help, but after the reaction i got from most of the staff there (lots of people coming to look at the lady with the funny eye!) I wasn't getting my hopes up! Boy, was I wrong! I explained to Vikash what the man at Boots had said and he took a very brief look at my eye and immediately said that it would not be a problem, I nearly kissed him! and here i am 48 hours post op, with 20/15 vision and only wishing I'd had this done 10 years ago. I was really nervous on the day of surgery but seeing other people coming in and out clearly delighted with their ops really put me at ease. Joan held my hand the entire time and I'm glad she did, the only bit i found slightly uncomfortable was when there was pressure put on my eye but it was nothing really. The scariest bit was when the first eye had been done and covered and they moved on to the next one, as they lifted the flap and it all went dark I squeezed poor Joan's hand so hard!! but the minute the flap was put back in place I knew that my sight was drastically improved, from being a blurry light above my head, I could now see individual circles of light and the little flashing red blob was now a dot. As I stood up from the bed I was shocked at how well I could see and couldn't stop grinning, Vikash was smiling back at me and seemed genuinely pleased for me. As i sat outside, with my eyes shut, the anaesthetic wore of and my eyes stung a bit but that was the only discomfort I felt. Mike explained that the first 3-4 hours were when it would be uncomfortable and after 3 hours I was absolutly fine. I was so excited about the amount I could see that I couldn't sleep, I spent most of the night looking out of my hotel room looking for small print to read!!! At the clinc the next day Vikash told me that my eyes were healing well and that I had 20/15 vision, I haven't stopped smiling since. This is just one of the best things I have ever done and if anyone asks me if they should get it done I would not hesitate in recommending the wonderful team at Accuvision. They treat you as a whole person, not just a pair of eyes.

04 Jul 2004

Just the other day we were watching an interview on TV and instead of blurring out just the person's face to protect their identity, they blurred out the entire frame. I looked at my husband and said "That's how everything used to look for me without my glasses!". He couldn't believe it. He knew I had been nearsighted (-9L/-8.50R) but until then I'd never really been able to explain to him how the world had looked through my eyes. I used to joke that without my glasses I could only distinguish light, colour, shape and movement. Even reading a book without my glasses was a challenge if it was held more than about 6 or 7 inches from my face. I was 7 years old when it was first discovered that I needed glasses and over the last 35 years I've worn both glasses and contact lenses. Wearing contact lenses wasn't particularly comfortable for prolonged periods of time so I tended to only wear them for special occasions when I really wanted to feel dressed up. Ninety-nine percent of the time I wore my glasses. When it came to selecting new glasses, I was getting increasingly frustrated. I had to get the ultrathin lenses which cost a fortune but even then, ultrathin with my prescription still wasn't exactly thin and my options were limited when it came to selecting frames. I had to select frames that could disguise the thickness of the lenses, etc. and often this meant selecting something a bit on the frumpy side. But even with all of this, like so many others, I'd been raised to believe that if your vision was acceptable with glasses, you didn't mess around with it. In the last couple of years I'd heard about laser surgery and even knew a few people who'd had it done. Halfheartedly I would research the available procedures from time to time. There were things I'd felt I'd always been held back from doing - like learning to swim properly - because I couldn't see without my glasses and looked like a geek in the pool with my glasses. The idea of life without glasses certainly held appeal but the idea of the surgery made me squeamish. Furthermore I guess I really didn't think that I would be a suitable candidate for laser surgery. Finally this spring I decided to face the possibility and made an appointment for a consultation with Accuvision. I'd read enough reviews and done enough research by this point to believe that they were likely to offer me the best possibility of good vision. I went to the appointment without expectations. I didn't have my heart set on having it done because I didn't want to be disappointed. The staff is very professional and friendly. Vikash thoroughly examined my eyes - the general health of my eyes, the thickness of my corneas, the width of my pupils, etc. - explained the risks and answered all of my questions. Amazingly I was a good candidate on all counts. He said that he felt with the surgery there was a 95% chance that I would have 20/20 vision or better and that in my case he felt that vision correction was definitely for functional reasons not cosmetic ones. Then I started to get excited! I had the surgery on May 20th. During one part of the consultation Vik had used anesthetic drops explaining they were the same drops used during the surgery. I didn't feel anything during that part of the consultation and that gave me a lot of confidence about the surgery being painless also. I was really calm about the whole thing and decided to make it a positive experience. I have to say when they first laid me out on the bed I kind of wished I was someplace else but the surgery is quick and only slightly uncomfortable. In no time at all it was over. It was important for me to keep my eyes closed as much as possible for the first of the first day which I did but occasionally I couldn't help sneaking a peek at the world that was now much much clearer to me. It was amazing! At my checkup 24 hours later my vision was tested and I told it was good enough to drive. At my one week checkup my vision was 20/20 although at that stage the contrast of objects in the distance wasn't very sharp. Vik said this would improve and it has. Initially I had some problems with halos on lights when driving at night but that continues to improve. I've also got some dryness discomfort that I'm using artifical tears for. I've been told I won't have long term problems with either of these issues. I just had my one month checkup. My vision is 20/20. It is really amazing! Now I need to find a good swimming teacher in the area! Considering the advances in this technology, I believe that in future generations laser eye surgery will be the norm and glasses will be the exception. My advice to anyone even considering laser eye surgery - go to Accuvison for a consultation. Let them evaluate your circumstances and talk to you about it. I think you'll be glad you did.
