1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

I had wavefront LASIK on both eyes at Accuvision in July 2005, performed by Mr Chad Rostron and his team. Prior to this, my prescription was -4.25/-5.00, and I had been wearing glasses/contact lenses for about 15 years since my late teens. Without them, I couldn't even watch TV, let alone drive. The operation was a textbook success: I had mild discomfort (grittiness/sensitivity to light) for the rest of the day, but the next morning woke up feeling fine and able to see almost perfectly. By day 3, I could easily have gone back to work, but had chosen to take the whole week off just in case. Now, 6 months later, I've been discharged from Accuvision's aftercare programme, as my eyes have fully healed and I've suffered no problems whatsoever in the meantime. My vision has stabilised at better than 20/20 in both eyes. I really can't fault Accuvision at all. Their initial consultation is free, genuinely no-obligation and very detailed, the treatment is fully explained, quick and painless, and the aftercare programme is spot-on, including a 24-hour helpline in the unlikely event of any urgent problems. Accuvision aren't the cheapest, but knowing a friend who went to one of the bargain-basement laser eye clinics and suffered quite bad complications, the words "false economy" spring to mind...

Three and a half weeks since the LASIK which was so simple & quick it was less uncomfortable than a dental check up , I was -3 in both eyes , now the right is close to 20/20 and the left a little behind . The results are amazing and Accuvision were my choice after consulting 3 other clinics and I'm sure it was the right one . One small note of caution , getting used to reading glasses is quite a learning curve afterwards although I've gone from + 1.5 a week after to + 1.0 presently . No pain no overnight discomfort , just slight confusion every morning when I realise I've left home without my specs . The brain still isn't sure which eye to favour , time will tell .

I had been considering laser eye surgery for quite some time but until the last couple of years, my prescription had not been stable enough. Over the last 2 years my prescription had not changed (-6.25 & -6.00) so I decided to take the plunge and go for it. I’d had enough of glasses and contact lenses and always hated my dependence on them. I spent time researching what was available and stumbled on this website. Having read the comments posted on each clinic, I decided to go for a consultation with Accuvision, mainly due to the fact that nobody had a bad word to say about them. I went along for the consultation and even at this point I knew I had made the right choice of clinics. The staff are friendly and the first thing that happened was I was offered a cup of coffee while I waited. A small thing perhaps, but it does make you feel welcome. The consultation was thorough and professional and everything was explained to me, including the potential risks and possible complications. There was absolutely no hard-sell and you are left with a fully informed decision to make. I decided that I was going to go for it and an appointment was made for approx. 2 weeks later. I was quite nervous beforehand but my surgeon (Brett Halliday) was very down to earth and reassured me that the procedure was quick and painless. I had 2 main fears about the surgery, the first one was that the eye clamp would be difficult to fit and very uncomfortable, the second one is that I would freak out when I saw the blade of the microkeratome coming towards my eye. Fortunately both fears were unfounded. The eye clamp just seemed to flick into my eye with no trouble at all and you don’t really see the microkeratome at all, just red & green lights throughout. The surgery was over in minutes and before you know it, they’re finished. Initially my vision was sharp but foggy (a bit like looking through a misty window) and was rather blurry for about 3 days. When the anaesthetic wore off, I had shooting pains in my right eye (not unbearable, but uncomfortable) but no reaction in my left. This subsided by the next day and after that it felt like just something in my eye. Not much changed until day 4, when the discomfort suddenly stopped and the blurriness disappeared (almost instantly – quite weird!) and I was amazed how good my eyesight was! I can’t think of a “Wow” factor that could beat this one. After 15 years of bad eyesight, I could now see more clearly than I could with by glasses on previously. I spent ages just staring out of the window at work amazed at just how much detail I could make out. When I went back for my checkup the following week, my vision was 20/20 and I could even make out some of the letters on the 20/15 line! I am writing this exactly 2 weeks after surgery and my vision is still excellent. Still getting some halos at night but this is improving gradually. All in all, I would certainly recommend this surgery to anyone who hates the hassle of glasses and contact lenses (the few days of discomfort is definately worth it) and I really doubt there’s a clinic anywhere that is better than Accuvison.

I recently had my laser surgery just over a month ago my prescription was very high and I was generally getting very fed up with wearing contact lenses and also the fact that I was wearing glasses for nearly twenty years. I visited Accuvision for a initial consultation and I was very impressed with the friendly service they provided. They were very informative about the whole procedure and explained everything to me. They made me feel very relaxed about the whole process and made me feel more confident about having the corrective surgery done considering I was very nervous about the whole process. When I finally underwent the corrective surgery, they made me feel very calm about the whole process. The surgery was over within minutes and I was unable to feel anything. During the first few hours I experience some discomfort but they explained that this was normal. I went home to sleep and the following day I woke up and my vision was excellent it was like I was this new person and I was so excited about the fact that I could wake up and be able to see everything again without having to reach for my glasses also the fact that in the long run I considered this to a cheaper option rather that continuing to wear glasses and contact lenses. I was given the all clear the following day when I visited the clinic and I was able to resume back to my normal working life. I was able to drive and use the computer. When people say that you cannot drive and use the computer for a couple of weeks I found to be a myth. I recovered within 24 hours and I was fine. I would say that I found the whole corrective surgery an experience and has made me a new person. I found that the staff at Accuvision help me achieve this as they calmed me down during the whole process, were informative and very helpful which I felt was top of their priorties when I first visited them. I would recommend corrective surgery to anyone who is considering it. I would also recommend Accuvision as a Clinic who are committed to achieving the best results possible for you.

Very impressed -- good value for money. From initial visit to post surgery check-ups, I received top service. Accuvision fully explained the procedure and put my mind at rest. I now have better than 20/20 vision.

I had sight correction with Wavefront procedure done Wednesday 22 June 05 and I am really pleased with the results. I didn't have a strong perscription (-2.0 in each eye) but it was enough to mean that I needed glasses/lenses all the time. I can't believe how well I can see now! I even felt confident enough to drive home from the 1 day follow up appointment (my husband drove to the appointment as I wanted to wait until I had been given the 'all clear'). I didn't experience any pain but did feel a little faint afterwards - I am convinced that is due to my nervousness leading up to the procedure!! I was subsequently told that this can happen but that might have been said to make me feel better. I have not had ANY discomfort and have only experienced slightly dry eyes on one day at 4 days post op which are alleviated by the artificial tears provided by Accuvision. I also found that keeping myself hydrated helped with the comfort of my eyes. I have to say that I have been very impressed by the staff at Accuvision. During the initial consultation and on the treatment day they take the time to explain what to expect and to answer any questions you have (I had many!). The initial consultation was very thorough and I came away with a realistic expectation of how they could help but also with the confidence that they would 'look after' me. I didn't feel the need to visit any other clinics for a consultation but having said that I had previously made a vague enquiry at Optical Express in Holborn, London and I definitely got the 'hard sell' which put me off immediately. As Accuvision is a smaller company they seem to have the time to provide a comprehensive follow up programme (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months & 1 year!) so patient care seems high on their agenda. I realise that there are many 'high street chain' companies who can provide the same procedure but I, personally, felt more comfortable with the personal attention Accuvision provided. All went well at my one week and 1 month checkup and I have a longer term appointment booked for January 06. I will not post to this site again unless I experience complications. I would highly recommend Accuvision to anyone – it really has made a huge difference to the quality of my life.

Had both eyes done 5 days ago and the results are fantastic. My prescription was 1.75 in both eyes and - from the day after surgery - I'm now the proud owner of 20/20 vision! I researched eye surgery very thoroughly and Accuvision impressed me with their surgical team, equipment, patient care and reviews. The initial consultation with Vik was extremely thorough and honest, yet also reassuring. My surgeon was Brett Halliday and he and his team (I think there were about 6 people in the room on the day) were brilliant. Not only did they talk me through every moment of the procedure; they were also genuinely very caring. It's a big thing to have done so this is very important. I can't recommend them enough. Post-operative care is great too. The eyes are taking a little while to adjust to their new capabilities and are pretty dry but it's all been so worth it.

Had both eyes done, staff were friendly and curtious, and the result was better than I dreamed possible. Near perfect vision, in all conditions night or day. The proceedure was painless with only minor discomfort, for 24-36 hours post op.

For those of you looking for a clinic that has the most experienced surgeons, the best equipment and staff who really care about best advice and acheiving the best possible results you should go to Accuvision. My prescription was R +6.00 -5.00, L +7.00 -6.50. Two days after treatment my site was good enough to drive and after six weeks my site test shows I have 20/20 vision with just 0.5 astigmastism in both eyes. Given the severity of my astigmatism and long sight you can imagine I took great care to choose a clinic that really had the experience to take on the challenge. I looked at other top clinics and it was evident they did not have the experience of treating more complex prescriptions. I cannot recommend Accuvision highly enough - whatever your prescription. I am happy to act as reference to anyone who would like to learn more about my experience.

I had been deliberating over whether to have the surgery for quite a few years and finally decided this year to make that extra special effort to save. I looked around on the internet for advice and inspiration as to where to go and I was recommended Accuvision by a friend of a friend who had her treatment in October 2004. She raved about everything to do with Accuvision so I decided to make the effort and call them. I had my initial consultation with Vik on 30/9. This lasted approx an hour and was extremely thorough. Vik was brilliant too keeping me informed of everything he was doing and why! As I had really made up my mind before going for the consultation I was put off at all and delighted when Vik told me that they could do it. I booked my treatment day before leaving. Treatment was done on 17/10 by Mr Rostron. Everything about the day was professional, friendly and informative. They didn't do anything without telling me. It was a bit scary and uncomfortable but is done so quickly that before you realise it you are back in the waiting room for a rest before getting checked and then ready to leave. Worst part of the day was being in the car for an hour and half and not being able to open my eyes. I had to keep my eyes closed for the rest of the day. I used a sleeping mask to help - I found this quite easy because my eyes didn't really want to be open anyway. The stinging lasted about an hour and grittiness about 5 hours but the eyedrops helped. I haven't experienced any halos or fuzziness at night and results so far is 15/20 vision from being shortsighted at -2.50. The one thing a really hated about the whole experience was wearing the aweful plastic shields over my eyes at night. During my sleep I would try to remove them, sometimes successful but other nights I would wake up fighting with them to get them off. I was so glad one week on when Vik told me I could stop using them. Everyone at Accuvision from the Receptionists, the the person who made my appointments for me, to Vik and Mr Rostron and team in the treatment room have been brilliant. There is nothing negative I can say about the whole experience (except those eye shields !!) Thank you
