1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

I STRONGLY recommend this clinic. I had -1.75 sphere on both eyes, plus 2 and 2.75 cylinder left and right respectively. 16 hrs after surgery I could see 21/20. The operation was 5 mins long and very interesting to "watch". I could actually see clearly straight after, but was asked to keep my eyes closed for 30min for obvious reasons (the eagerness was strong, I tell you:-). I used the drops as instructed. Minor itching. I was actually a bit negligent in the immediate post-op because I went shopping and staid up late. The morning after, they took the contacts off. Now, 3 days after, my eyes feel and see absolutely perfect. I'm even tempted to stop using the drops altogether. I think it's important to go for the best surgeon and trust him/her with everything else. Those of Accuvision have A LOT (Dr Rostron has a 25 pages CV!) of VERY RELEVANT and FIRST GRADE Experience. Accuvision's Allegretto Eye-Q 400's are very recent and advanced german technology. Note that Germany is home to companies like Zeiss (the best lenses), Leika (the best cameras), Leo Electron Microscopy (very advanced electron microscopes). Competitors of Accuvision were very vocal with me about their Visx S4's because they know a lot has been publicized about them out there. It's only because they are American and they have a strong market penetration there. But the situation has been changing rapidly since the Eye-Q 400 was FDA-approved in 2003 and a big part of the new machines sold there since 2003 are Eye-Q's. A clinic with weak surgeons will certainly try to sell how great and popular their Visx is.

It's been nearly a month since I had my treatment and I'm so pleased with the results. Accuvision were fantastic throughout the process and I simply cannot fault the service I've received. Although the surgery was completely painless and the staff were very calming, I nevertheless felt pretty freaked out when I lay on the table and the procedure begun. However, after the first eye was underway & I realised that it really wasn't scary at all, I was much more relaxed - just lay back and enjoyed the "light show". My vision was excellent when I came out of surgery and I really wanted to look around rather than keeping my eyes closed and rested. My eyes were a little uncomfortable (slightly "gritty") for the first two days - but I found resting them helped a lot & was a great excuse to listen to books on tape all weekend. I then had pretty dry eyes for about a week afterwards which were relieved by artificial tears. Overall, it was well worth a little discomfort and I'm now amazed each day at how great my vision is. I no longer need eye drops and my concerns about my night vision becoming poorer are completely unwarranted. I've already recommended Accuvision to two of my colleagues (one who has already had her eyes done there now) and would recommend it to anyone considering laser eye surgery.

What can I say: fabulous staff, fabulous service and now fabulous eye sight!!! I got 'zapped' 4 days ago and it's just amazing. The procedure itself is painless and so quick. The only irritation I found was on the first night due to the protective contact lenses they put in, but these were removed at the 1 day check up. Since then - brilliant!! I would highly recommend Accuvision. They were so efficient and professional, yet super friendly.

I'd worn glasses since I was 4, and was long sighted with a very uneven prescription. Knowing that lasik had historically been used for short sighted people, I was pleasantly surprised to be told that I was suitable. I was zapped in September 2005, and to my way of thinking a trip to the dentist is far more unpleasant. The procedure is slightly surreal, but quick and painless. Having been long sighted I was told that it would take some time for everything to settle down, and it did. I am now delighted with my 20:20 vision, albeit my left eye is still slightly dominant, and I do get the odd day where computer text can be slightly blurry round the edges. I now work without glasses, and eyestrain which was a real bugbear for me is pretty much a thing of the past. The staff at Accuvision were fantastic both before and after the operation. You do not meet the surgeon until the day of the surgey, which some may find a little odd, but didn't cause me a problem. On the proviso that you are realistic about yuour expectations, go for it. Was it £2K well spent? Definitely.

I had my surgery carried out on the 23rd May. I decided to have my consultation and both eyes done at the same time which resulted in a discount of £300. My eyesight was previously very poor as my prescription was almost 10. I am extremely happy with the wavefront lasik surgery I had as I now have 20/20 vision and only need 1.5 lenses for reading. The treatment was absolutely painless and I had no after effects whatsoever. My vision was a little blurry immiediatley afterwards, but soon improved to the extent I was able to drive to my local supermarket in less than 6 hours after the surgery. I am really glad I took the decision to have laser surgery and highly recommend Accuvision.

I had my eyes done 7hrs ago, and already i can see well enough to drive. Before the surgery i was so nervous but when i laid on the table all my worries seemed to disappear, it wasn't uncomfortable until about an hour after surgery then it was like getting shampoo in your eyes for about half an hour, now the only thing that feels a little uncomfortable is the contact lenses they put in to protect your eyes. Would recommend it to anyone, and Accuvision are brilliant, Thank you.

5 weeks now and I cant remember what it was like not to be able to see. I have been to Dorset for a week and seeing all the wild flowers in detail is just fantastic. Also I went swimming, I did wear goggles as I was worried about irritating my eyes and everything was fine. My night vision is better now than it was when I had glasses so thats another plus for me. :-)

I had laser treatment in May 2006 and the results are phenominal! I now have better than 20/20 vision and would recommend anyone who is thinking about it to go and have a chat with these guys at Accuvision. It was worth ever penny.

Was 'done' last week! WOW - can't believe how different life is. Loved travelling on the tube the day after and being able to read the map on the opposite side without having to push up my glasses! Go for it if your thinking about it - wish I'd done it sooner!!

After having my surgery at Accuvision on 25th April thought it was about time I posted a note on how I am getting on. After wearing glasses since aged 6 and full-time since age 19 (apart from few years with contacts) it is wonderful not to reach for my specs in the morning. I am very very happy with my "new eyes". I went to 3 consultatations - Ultralase, Accuvison and Optical Express. I also liked being seen by one person (Joan) who was very informative and answered all my many questions that day and the days leading up to surgery. I rang her a number of times before coming to my decision and the all round experience made me choose Accuvision. As I am 46 I knew that I would still need reading glasses after surgery which I was quite happy with and Joan confirmed this. I was extremely nervous of the procedure but Brett Halliday and his team were great and it was all over very quickly. I could see wonderfully straight away and it was hard to keep my eyes closed on the journey home as I could see so well!! I did have a couple of sore days due to a slight allergic reaction to the tear drops given to me the next day but this was soon sorted. Had a check up last Friday and my left eye was 20/20 (in fact I could read the bottom line so I think it was even better). My right eye which was - 4.25 was - 0.25. This eye is a little lazy (and even with my glasses it wasn't great and they told me before surgery that this eye would only be as good as it was with my glasses). This is the reason I didn't go for mono vision. Joan explained this all to me and we decided the best option for me would be to go for best distance. It is still very early days -both eyes are healing really well and they told me my right eye will hopefully get a little better. It is quite normal for vision to fluctuate at this time. I have another check up at the end of June and will update my comments then. Anyway just wanted to say thank you to my new "laser" friends whose advice and support in the past few weeks have been invaluable and, of course, thank you to the Accuvision team for making it all possible. I am very pleased that I decided to have my surgery at Accuvision.
