1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic

Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.

What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.

Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.

Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments

As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.

  1. LASIK eye surgery
  2. Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
  3. Lens replacement surgery
  4. ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
  5. Cataract surgery
  6. Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)

So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).

3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices

AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.

AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:

  • Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
  • LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
  • C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye

Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:

TreatmentOptical Express Cost (per eye)Optegra Cost (per eye)Optimax Cost (per eye)Centre for Sight Cost (per eye)
LASIK / LASEKFrom £595£1,795£1,695£2,400
Cataract SurgeryFrom £3,195£2,495£2,995From £3,150
ICL SurgeryFrom £3,395£3,495£2,495£3,615

Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.

That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

I'd worn glasses since the age of about five for things like reading, TV, school work and then later driving. As soon as possible I moved on to contact lenses and was pretty happy with them at first. However, after a while the whole routine of having to clean them and take them out etc. etc. started to get on my nerves so I looked in having laser surgery. I did a bit of research into the various companies around but was very impressed by the service and value for money I was offered at Accuvision. One of the main reasons I was keen to get my eyes lasered is for my rugby - all too frequently I would lose a contact lens on the pitch and be half blind for the rest of the game. I decided to go with Accuvision and after a being taken through the procedure step by step I agreed to have the surgery done. On the day I was pretty nervous but was re-assured by the calm atmosphere at the clinic. After a few more routine checks I found myself underneath the laser machine, waiting to experience all the horror stories I'd heard - the smell of burning cornea, the pain, the discomfort etc etc. The procedure took I'd say about 7secs per eye and there was no smell, no pain, and no discomfort. The worst aspect of the whole things was having lots of drops put into my eyes. As soon as the surgeon let me sit up I could see - it was amazing. I really found it quite an emotional experience to be able to see perfectly after so many years of glasses and contact lenses and blurred vision. I went home with a course of drops to take, came back the next day and then again a few months later for the last checkup to ensure everything is OK. My surgeon says now if he hadn't done the surgery, looking at my eyes he wouldn't know I'd had it done and apparently I have better than 20:20 vision - I didn't even know such a thing was possible!! The operation really is one of the best things I have ever done - I feel so happy not to have to rely on glasses or lenses and it's fantastic not to have to worry about my eyes on the rugby pitch. I couldn't recommend having the surgery done highly enough and the service and expertise I experienced at Accuvision was second to none.

I had my laser treatment on the 15th March 2008 at Accuvision after being turned down as unsuitable for LASIK treatment by two well known clinics.

The whole experience was reassuring and the staff more than welcoming and helpful.

The treatment went great and I would recommend anybody suitable to go along to Accuvision for advise.

Thank you all so much.

After an initial consultation with a well known high street optician, I was convinced I wanted to go ahead with laser surgery but I WAS NOT CONFIDENT with the staff who tried to answer my questions. I then went to Accuvision, London and could not have been more impressed. All the staff were polite, patient and very informative - I trusted them completely. The surgery went extremely well, no pain and my vision is better than I had ever hoped it would be. The procedure regarding mono-vision was explained in detail and contact lenses were inserted into my eyes so I could experience what my sight would be like after surgery. You can't get better informed than that !! If you are considering Laser Surgery, believe all the positive comments on Accuvision. I recommend them 100%

Just fantastic. From the moment I got into the waiting room prior to the operation until today- over 2 weeks later- I couldn't be happier. From the Ophthalmologist who performed the first consultation to the surgeon who performed the operation, everyone was marvellous. They were really friendly, and explained everything really well. The consequence is that I can see properly for the first time since I was 10- not yesterday- without any correction at all. My prescription was -4.5 with a severe astigmatism and -4.25 with a less severe one. Now it's 0 and -1.5 which means I can read teeny print in contracts and everything at distance. Technically I have 20:15 vision, which is better than 20:20 and considerably better than that needed to drive. Apart from a small problem with one eye not liking the steroid drops too much and becoming dry, there have been no adverse reactions. I don't even need to use artificial tears any more- although I have left the post-it marked "blink" on my compute, just to remind me. also I like how straightforward the clinic was. They said it would be £950 per eye, and it was. My friend paid considerably more 2 months before and certainly could not have had better treatment than I have had. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

I had both eyes lazered two weeks ago and I cannot stress what a worthwhile investment this has been for me. I have been wearing glasses and lenses since I was 18 and am about -5.00 in both eyes. I cycle and run regularly and 'convenience' has been one of the main reasons why I wanted to have the surgery. This clinic was strongly recommended to me by an Optician friend who works for one of the few specialised eye lazer clinics in Dublin, Ireland. There were several other lazer clinics advertised in London and the UK with even cheaper quotes however, I was advised that eye surgery isnt something one should bargain with. The staff at Accuvision, Fulham were very professional, extremely informative and could fit me in when it suited me. I was quite apprehensive but the surgeon put me at ease and the nurse held my hand throughout the surgery. The procedure only lasted two minutes - quick and painless. The after-care has also been very thorough. With Accuvision, I felt I was in safe hands from the very first consultation (which was free). Every day over the past two weeks I have noticed improvements with my sight. The realisation that I may never have to put in contact lenses or crawl around for my glasses is such a relief. The option of opening up a payment plan with Accuvision was a deciding factor for me. I could put what I wanted down as the deposit and pay off the remainder over a 10month (interest free) payment plan. No regrets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just do it!

They could not have been better. I had problems with dryness resulting in ulceration with contact lenses which caused me to have laser treatment. The team at Accuvision were fantastic and, because I had recurring dryness after the surgery (in May 2007) they had me back at the clinic on a monthly basis until they were satisfied that things had settled. I have only just been discharged, 9 months later. They are friendly, professional, reassuring, honest, and kind. I know they are not the cheapest but I think it's worth the extra! Highly recommended. Vik, in particular, is lovely!!

Six years on and still going strong. Not even a pair of reading glasses in sight, (well not yet anyway). I can hardly remember ever wearing glasses and I can honestly say that I've had no problems at all since my surgery and my vision has been perfect. To all those thinking of having the op, I have no hesitation in recommending Accuvision. It took me and my husband (who incidentally is an optomotrist), years to find a place in which we felt confident enough to have my eyes fixed and my only regret is that we didn't find Accuvision sooner. My sincere thanks to all the team who looked after me so well, you have my total gratitude and respect for what you do.

I am 32 years old and have been using contact lenses on and off since I was 18, and had already developed repeated eye infections caused by using lenses too much. The private Doctor I saw for the infections suggested to consider laser treatment since he knew I didn't like wearing glasses and I started to study clinics on the internet. I found Accuvision convincing and asked my Doctor for his opinion on my choice. He said it is a reputable clinic and asked me for the price they had offered me and said that also the price was in place. Now I felt confident to make my appointment for the surgery! Everyone at Accuvision was very caring since the first visit and I felt that I was being explained about the choices well. My biggest fear was my repeated infections and I was making sure that the optometrist and surgeon knew about this in case that I would be in risk of infection post-op. They considered Trans Epithelial laser treatment because of my infections but then came back to me and said Wavefront Optimized LASIK would be fine, and so it was! It is now 3 weeks after my surgery and I feel completely happy about everything!!! At the day of operation I just tried to think that this is a voluntary small operation that takes just a few minutes and that I have decided to do in order to see without glasses and that there really isn't anything to be worried about. Accuvisions Lifetime Care Commitment also made me feel that everything will be taken care of. In the actual surgery I was talked trough the whole procedure and that really helped me to feel secure, and when the second eye was operated a nurse called Jane held my hand since it was a bit more unnerving (THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH) and the taking me trough the process all over again kept me quite calm trough the whole operation, and after just a few minutes in the operation room I could sit up and was amazed that I could see clearly all ready! I was all smiles after that, and happy to have a loved one with me to the surgery, since it felt very good to share the experience trough out the day with somebody and to just be amazed together about how well I could see:) About ten minutes after the operation I was being examined again and confirmed that all had gone well. Also at my one day and one week post-op checks everything was fine, just some dryness of the eyes that I feel is now starting to settle and I just use about 6 drops per eye a day and normally when I wake up in the morning there isn't any discharge anymore! I would like to thank everyone at Accuvision for taking so good care of me, both the optometrists (Jane who first examined me remembered my particular needs all the time even though it took me a while to decide to go trough with the surgery) and Neeha at the reception was also very understanding and caring all the time. And in the surgery I appriciated the talking me trough everything very very much, and of course holding my hand too, thank you all ever so much, I am grateful that you did such a fantastic job on my eyes! Having perfect vision is such a miracle, THANK YOU!!!

I had my 'operation' only two weeks ago and haven't looked back. I picked Accuvision because two of my friends recommended them. I had a consultation with them and with Optical Express who advertise at £350 per eye. Actually the quote from Optical Express for the same treatment I had at Accuvision was over £3000! Accuvision were great. The 'operation' was painless and quick, the worst part was the all in the mind. I was a wimp but the surgeon explained everything he was doing and the nurse held my hand. It was over before I could blink an eye - literally. The same evening I had the 'op' - I was in my local pub telling everyone how fantastic it was, I could see really well - no problem. I was short sighted by -5.25 in one eye and -6 in the other. I had also needed to wear reading glasses over the last two years because of my age (I am 53). The surgeon corrected by eyesight in one eye for perfect long sight and compensated the other eye so that I don't need to use reading glasses unless the light is bad or the print is very tiny. So for anyone out there who is dithering about taking the risk - GO FOR IT. you are worth it! I did.

I had surgery 21 months ago now, and thought it was time for an update....... I promised the guys at Accuvision that I would not only add a review straight after surgery, but also add one a various stages in the future. OK, averything is still amazing, the only problem is I do seem to take it for granted now, which is something I promised I would never do. My pre-op presciption was -7.00 in both eyes with a slight asigmatism, I am due an eye test, but know that my sight is still fantastic. I do not need to use any drops at all, even when flying long haul, and often people suffer with dry eyes then, my eyes are completely "normal". Once again a big thank you to the team at Accuvision, the gift they have given me is more than anyone could ask for. Any questions, please ask.
