1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

Can’t see my old review on here, but I had the treatment at Accuvision 9 years ago and still have 20/20 vision. Seriously worth doing. Don’t go for the cheapest option, you only have one pair of eyes. Save up and go for the best. Had friends finally have the operation, universal response is ‘should have done it years ago’. Huge amounts of both time and money saved since then in putting in/taking out and cleaning lenses, buying them, glasses, cleaning fluids, opticians appointments etc.

I had been considering laser vision correction for a number of years, however was always too nervous about a flap being cut to go ahead. My prescription was -6.50 and -6.25 which was affecting my ability to effectively take part in mountain activities. I found out about Accuvision through the Internet, and read about the Trans-Epitheal laser vision correction, which is a no-touch procedure. Based on my research in to this I booked a consultation in Solihull. The consultation was very thorough and friendly. All my questions were answered, and we were able to talk about my hobbies including climbing and mountaineering, and how they would be affected. I booked the procedure for Friday 14th November. On the day of the surgery I arrived early, and was pleased to be seen almost immediately. The team could tell that I was nervous about the procedure and were very friendly, explaining everything clearly. Following a check-up I was taken to the laser suite. The procedure itself was very quick and with anaesthetic drops was completely painless. I was instructed to look at a green light as the laser was used to remove the epithelium and then reshape the cornea. Following the procedure I had a cup of tea and a check up. I was also given eye drops to be administered each hour during the day. My vision was a little blurry, but already better than it had been previously. When the anaesthetic drops wore off my eyes hurt quite a lot and I stayed in bed for the rest of the day. On Saturday I had my 1-day check-up. The epithelium was healing well and I could read half-way down the optician's chart. My eyes were now a lot less painful. After the 5 day check-up and bandage contact lens removal I was able to drive without glasses. I found my vision slightly variable, but always usable, and there was no pain after the second day. I was able to read and watch TV after 4 days, and comfortably use a computer after a week and a half. I have just had a 2.5 week review, and my vision is now at 20/20. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the Accuvision service. All the staff at the Solihull clinic were extremely patient with a nervous patient, and I am delighted with the result. 20/20 is a very good result for Trans-Epithelial treatment at just over two weeks, and it should continue to improve over the next few months. Once again, many thanks to all the team at Accuvision in Solihull.

Mine is a familiar story...I had perfect vision until I was in my mid 40's. Then, my near focus got more difficult and eventually so did my distance. Until recently I was juggling multiple different glasses for different things. I found this very frustrating. I began to think about laser treatment to fix my vision and thankfully I found Accuvision. The experience has been faultless, all the way from booking an appointment to having treatment and dealing with all the staff members. They are a highly professional, compassionate and knowledgeable team. I underwent Monovision treatment and I am now liberated from my glasses, with clear vision far and near. A MODERN DAY MIRACLE!!! THANK YOU ACCUVISION!!

I am 62 and drive a taxi. I used to wear contact lens and use reading glasses. Now I don't wear glasses. Accuvision recommended different corrections to each eye to give me the bi-focal effect. They promised to further correct the 'reading' eye if I should not get on with the result. Had the surgery on Wednesday, no pain but what a gain! On Thursday went back to have the contact lens type bandages removed. Cannot express how excited I was with the result. Started to drive on Friday but had too much haloing from lights at night to feel fully competent. On Sunday drove at night with absolutely no problem whatsoever. Took my sister to Accuvision - now she can see properly too. If you're reading this and have doubts then you might like to consider the following facts. Americans are world famous for suing over anything possible yet their Navy now insist on sailors having laser correction to bad eyesight. Accuvision use the best equipment with the latest computer firmware and updates to aid the surgery. It's as good if not better than used by the US Navy. I found out all this by diligent searching before I went to Accuvision. Oh, by the way, I also had customers who had been to Accuvision and who sang their praises to the rafters. I was lucky to have good recommendations as well as very good scientific reason to trust Accuvision. Oh, and another thing, before you fall for the £395 an eye advert ask how much Waveform will cost. I asked and was quoted from £1095 an eye upwards according to prescription. I had -4.25 and my price was £1900 for both eyes. And the receptionist didn't seem to be able to answer, or get the answers, as quickly and completely as the staff at Accuvision. I drive with confidence, I can see as soon as I wake up, I have my computer set to the highest resolution and don't struggle with tiny letters, I don't curse about forgetting my reading glasses and have to get someone else read out the menu for me and I've dumped all my various pairs of glasses in the bin at Accuvision Solihull so they can send them to charity. If you go then ask all the questions, listen carefully because they won't make wild promises, follow all their instructions and soon you'll be here writing about how good Accuvision are and how excited you are with the results. Like Number 2 used to say in The Prisoner "I'll be seeing you." ( I guess not everyone will be old enough to remember that TV show..) Seeing is believing - I know.

I had Wavefront Lasik treatment at Accuvision on the 17th of October. My prescription was quite small, mostly astigmatism. Re: +0.25 / -1.50 Le: 0.00 / -1.50 I used to suffer from migraine headaches at school as no-one diagnosed my eye sight as a potential cause. Even then, I had multiple prescription changes between optical providers and rather lost confidence in the opticians who saw me. Contact lenses have never been on the cards as I could not bear to go near my eyes, let alone have pieces of plastic in them. I had become quite comfortable with my glasses but they made life difficult in some areas such as photography, golf, kite surfing, rugby etc. I had been associated with laser vision correction for many years as my brother worked in the industry. He had worked at other clinics prior to Accuvision but never felt completely comfortable in having anyone treat me until now. After he had been there for a while he felt that I was going to be in safe hands, not only for the procedure, but if anything were to go wrong I could be safe in the knowledge that Accuvision would look after me. Treatment itself was supposed to be quite simple, I was told told exactly what to expect so I should have been fine. Nevertheless, after they had finished treating my first eye, I went rather pale and clammy and they decided to give me a few minutes to relax and calm down before proceeding with the second eye. Not that I had any reason to be nervous, there was no pain although some discomfort when they applied suction to the eye to cut the flap. Second eye went fine largely due to the fact that I knew what was coming. Not being in control is what made me apprehensive I think, all in the head. Treatment was quick - given that I took a 5 minute rest, I was in theatre for no more than 15 minutes. Vision recovered very quickly, quite foggy afterwards – but through the fog I could read the scrolling news bar at the bottom of their television when I came out of theatre. Anyone who has astigmatism can appreciate how your vision blurs when trying to read or see definition. I took the drops as instructed and got on with my life quite comfortably. I was advised not to cycle to work for the first week or go to the gym etc, but am back to doing things as before. I was advised that due to my large pupils etc, that there was a risk my night vision might suffer initially. I have had no such issues during these dark evenings while cycling home. The one area of my life where I have always had to compromise is photography and wildlife observation. I found it impossible to get a good level of clarity through a pair of binoculars with glasses on and so did without. A week after surgery I went bird-watching in the New Forest, it was only at this stage that I realised how my colleagues were able to see so much more definition than I could.

Neurovision for Amblyopia (lazy eye)
I have two children who unfortunately have bilateral amblyopia. This was only made apparent to me when my eldest child failed his driving test as he could not read the number plate even with his glasses. Kieran the eldest had aided visual acuity of right eye 6/12 with myopia of -1.25 and his left eye was 6/18 also with myopia of -1.25. I researched amblyopia and thought that nothing could be done. Being unable to drive is a disadvantage for work and social reasons. I eventually read about Neurovision and honestly was a bit sceptical as my son had been referred to southend opthamology unit and again we were told that he had to make the best of what eyesight he had. Then I telephoned Accuvision and spoke to one of the optometrists there. No pressure was given to book an appointment, he just gave me an overview of the treatment. Having spoken to my husband about the treatment I decided to make an appointment which was in early September. Again all the staff were very welcoming and performed many tests on Kierans eyes and confirmed the above prescription. We started the treatment which is done every other day and lasts about 20 minutes. I have to say the treatment is very intense and did give my son headaches, but he kept going. We are just over halfway through treatment on his right eye and to our relief his aided visual acuity is now 6/7.5 and his presciption for myopia has decreased to -0.75. We are really pleased with the result. When he has completed his right eye we will certainly start on his left eye. We also took our youngest son there this month and treatment will hopefully start soon for his right eye.
There are no guarantees for this treatment but from our limited experience from this condition it is really worth investigating. I shall probably post again when we have further results from out two boys. I would just like to thank Mr Patel (Vik) for all the help and support he has given to Kieran.

I had my treatment at 4pm yesterday & cannot believe how fantastic my vision is already, and it is still settling down! My experience at Accuvision was absolutely world class, they have got the whole package perfect from consultation stage to after-care. The staff at Solihull made me feel that they were privileged to be able to treat me and every single one of them as warm and friendly at all times. I had to go for the treatment on my own and they really took care of me especially as I was very nervous;one of them even held my hand the whole way through! The whole thing took less than 20 minutes, with the treatment itself less than 2 minutes per eye; and it was totally pain and discomfort free. I did not really know what to expect having read so many different peoples feedback on this site;but I can honestly say it was easier than going to the dentist; the fear of the unknown was the worst thing, it was just a surreal experience. If I was recommending anyone for treatment I would not hesitate for a second about recommending Accuvision, but I would advise them to go for other consultations to see for themselves how good Accuvision really are. Thank you Accuvision .... I think you are wonderful !!!

I had my eyes corrected just over 3 years ago, having been rejected by other clinics due to my cornea being too irregular. It has been absolutely brilliant to live life and do sports without glasses or contact lenses. Due to my age I had monovision done, which turned out to be a really important choice. So from the beginning I wore glasses at work to provide the best 2 eye corrected vision. Yet at the weekend or on holiday never needed glasses for anything. A friend and his father have had Lasik on my recommendation and my sister is in the pipeline. **************************************************************************** Thank you Accuvision for potentially saving my life and vision... On a different topic I had an eye infection recently which I went to see Accuvision about for advice on 4th Nov 2008. This had no relation to the past surgery. Vikash empatically stated that I had Orbital Cellulitis and that I should go to an eye A & E and be treated with intravenous antibiotics. By this time I had already gone to one hospital. It took visits to 4 different hospitals to get correct treatment. Two different Moorfields Eye Units disagreed with the referral letter that Vikash had written for them and said I just had conjunctivitis / viral infection. Without Vikash's diagnosis, I would not have persisted to find people who knew what they were doing with respect to eye infections. Eventually I did get properly diagnosed and treated, and over 3 days had elapsed before I was connected up to be given IV Augmentin initially, then IV Vancomycine about every 12 hours for 3 days. Search "Orbital Cellulitis bsac" for a good summary of how serious this was. This has resulted in a formal complaint to both Moorfields Eye Units who really should have better procedures for dealing with this emergency condition.

I had treatment about 3 years ago. I was about -2.5 in each eye. The clinic is very modern and looks very smart. The staff are very professional and polite. The after-care was also very good. My eyes were very dry for the first few days and I used eye drops. The need for drops reduced and after a month or so I didn't need to use anything. My eye sight is perfect 20/15 I think which I believe is better than 20/20. I would more than recommend this to people who have a similar prescription to what I used to have and I would recommend Accuvision.

If you want confidence you're in good hands - you've arrived at the right place. Being told by Optical Express I was unsuitable for laser eye surgery due to my high 4+ prescription coupled with astigmatisms I was advised to seek intraocular lenses from their Harley St consultant costing around £4.5k! Thank goodness a mutual friend put me in touch with the AccuVision web site which restored hope I may be suitable for laser treatment after all. A detailed consultation with Joan followed where she spent the time I needed to understand my prescription and clearly explained the laser procedures. The risks of any eye surgery obviously need to be considered carefully after some informed explanation. The operation itself was over in minutes thanks to the expertise of Chad, Anthony, Vic and not forgetting Matron! The results initially encouraged me but after 4 days my sight varied from reading to distance and I wondered if I'd made a mistake. However after some reassurance from Vic that fluctuations in each eye were only to be expected and quite normal I'm pleased to report my sight is now settled down nicely to 20/20 Thank you all - John

I went to accuvision in February and because my eyes were so scarred through constant wear of contact lenses they advised me to wait, Joan see me every 3 Months after that and finally say said yes. I had Trans Epithilial laser on 27th October and i just cannot thank the team enough, they done Mono-vision and just cant believe the effect. Joan has been so caring and helpful i would recommend them to everyone. Once again Thank you.
