1. Review of AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic
Established in 2001, AccuVision is a popular destination for people seeking quality, affordable laser eye surgery. This clinic currently operates in five cities nationwide: London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Newcastle, and has performed over 40,000 treatments and counting.
What did independent inspectors find? According to the CQC’s latest report, there were no complaints between August 2016 and September 2017 from 1,011 refractive eye procedures carried out at AccuVision.
Is there anything else I should know? Most of the eye surgeons on our site enjoy five-star ratings, and the same is true for AccuVision. But it’s worth noting we only have 10 reviews for Dr Prashant Jindal.
Patients always want to find an ophthalmologist they feel comfortable with. That’s why it’s always a good idea to do your own research by trying to meet with your surgeon at an initial consultation, and many clinics offer these for free.

2. AccuVision Treatments
As well as common laser vision correction treatments – such as LASEK and LASIK with ultra-accurate Wavefront diagnostics – AccuVision also offers lens replacement surgery, including the UK’s most common surgical procedure: cataract surgery.
- LASIK eye surgery
- Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment
- Lens replacement surgery
- ICL surgery (implantable contact lenses)
- Cataract surgery
- Amblyopia (lazy eye treatment)
So is it safe? AccuVision promises highly sophisticated, automated devices, with world-class Wavefront technology and the Alcon WaveLight EX500 Excimer laser. According to the clinic’s own study of 500 patients, everyone achieved at least driving standard vision following surgery (including repeat surgery).
3. AccuVision Laser Eye Clinic Prices
AccuVision’s prices are reasonable rates in laser eye surgery. On average, 800 patients told Lasik Eyes they paid £1,200 (per eye) for laser eye surgery, and £3,615 (per eye) for lens replacement surgery (including cataract surgery) – few clinics have lower starting prices.
AccuVision doesn’t publish a fixed price list, but here are the costs you can expect for the most popular eye surgeries:
- Consultation Price: Free for initial consultation
- LASIK Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- Trans-Epi Price: Average cost £2,400 for both eyes
- C3R Treatment Price: Average cost £2,000 per eye
Here’s how these prices compare to the eye surgery quotes offered by other clinics:
Treatment | Optical Express Cost (per eye) | Optegra Cost (per eye) | Optimax Cost (per eye) | Centre for Sight Cost (per eye) |
---|---|---|---|---|
LASIK / LASEK | From £595 | £1,795 | £1,695 | £2,400 |
Cataract Surgery | From £3,195 | £2,495 | £2,995 | From £3,150 |
ICL Surgery | From £3,395 | £3,495 | £2,495 | £3,615 |
Eye surgery isn’t an insignificant cost for most people. That’s why AccuVision offers a 10 month finance option, which lets you spread the costs of surgery after the initial deposit into smaller monthly fees. You will need to pass a credit check with Hitachi Capital to gain approval for this payment plan.
That said, most clinics provide finance plans for much longer – up to three years, and also team up with health insurers who may cover at least some of the costs of the surgery (which AccuVision doesn’t).

After months of research and pondering I decided to take treatment. Having been an optical express customer for the last five years, my first consultation was with them. They recommended that I am suitable for LASIK and was quoted £3000 for both eyes. My prescription was -3.75 and -4. I had read on their brochure that those that due contact sports or for armed forces that LASEK would be the preferred treatment due to the flap. I then sought a second opinion from accuvision who quoted me £1900 for LASEK due to my sporting preferences. I finally had a consultation with Optimax who recommended LASEK at a cost of £2400. I decided to opt for Accuvision as the reviews Id read were exceptional. My treatment was on March 14th and the procedure was painless, however the post 24 hours were excruciating. I decided not to use the anaesthetic drops as I was advised that usage would slow recovery process. My eyes healed very quickly but were not 20;20 immediately. I was prepared as I knew that it would take 3-5 days for the cornea to fully recover. Over the next week my eyesight began improving dramatically and now 6 weeks on is 20;20. The treatment and after-care at Accuvision was exceptional. Absolutely Fantastic. Any time I was concerned, I called the clinic and spoke to professionals who advised me accordingly. I would STRONGLY recommend this clinic to anyone wanting to undergo eye surgery. Adam 27/04/09

A most reassuringly thorough examination of my eyes and friendly conversation with a very professional optometrist convinced me to go ahead with a Wavefront Lasik Mono-vision correction. Glad to report that the saying 'No pain, no gain' is absolutely untrue!!!! No pain whatsoever, huge gain in eyesight. 100% result. Thank you, Accuvision!

I never got on with glasses: they always made me feel sick and disoriented, and distorted my vision. I certainly wouldn't have driven in them. For 25 years I wore contact lenses instead. And then, one day, one tore in my eye and I thought - "Blimey, how would I cope if I couldn't wear my lenses for a while????" So I started investigating laser treatment. I visited two of the major advertised providers and, although they seemed competent, I felt 'processed' and rushed along on their high-street conveyor belt-style operations. I then got lucky by finding Accuvision on this website. I visited the Fulham clinic where my husband and I were very reassured by the professional and friendly optometrist (thanks, Joan!) and the extremely thorough investigation and battery of tests undertaken. All our questions were answered -- and it was suggested that Monovision would be the best way to proceed as I was beginning to need reading glasses for close work as well as glasses for distance. It was clearly explained to me that my stronger eye would be adjusted to give me excellent distance vision, and the weaker eye would be adjusted to give me the vision I needed for close work. My brain would automatically adjust to give me the vision I needed in every situation. I decided that I would go ahead. And then the crunch question -- how much would it cost? Answer: with Accuvision, about 30% - 50% less than the other providers I had visited. And no, it absolutely did not hurt one bit. It wouldn't be fair to say that I didn't feel a thing or that it was a totally pleasant experience. But it was weird, not painful, and I think a great deal of my personal discomfort was from not being in control of what was happening. And the actual operation only lasted seconds : -- "Keep your head very still now!" "Watch the green light in the middle - the green light is your friend here" "You'll see a blue light now, just keep still." "That's it, all done." I got up, walked out and after a short rest and a check, I went home, in a fuzzy blur (but could already see more than I had on the way in without my lenses!). Following instructions, I put drops in my eyes every two hours which alleviated the slightly gritty feeling (down to the plastic protective lenses left in my eyes for 36 hours). And so to sleep, sporting the fetching 'plastic fly' glasses to avoid rubbing my eyes. Hmmm, I wasn't too upset to see the back of those after a couple of nights! 24 hours later, I could see fuzzily: and once the plastic shields were removed on the Monday following the Friday operation, I could see well. I was reading and watching tv comfortably on Monday night, drove again on the Wednesday and by my one-week check had very good vision. A couple of months on, I can see better in all situations than I have ever done: I can switch from reading the shirts at the far end of the Highbury pitch (very important to me!) to reading small print in the programme with the greatest of ease. I read (even in semi-darkness), paint, put on my make-up, use the computer, drive by day and at night without any problems at all. I do still need to use the drops before I go to sleep and in the morning, to alleviate a slight 'tired eyes' feeling. For me, this operation has been hugely successful, and I enthusiastically recommend both the operation and Accuvision. If you are considering laser surgery, do take the time to visit several providers and do go for the most advanced technique offered - don't make compromises with your sight. There is a reason these things are invented -- and it is to do it better. And don't make your final decision based solely on cost criteria -- go to the company who make you feel most confident in their knowledge and capabilities. For me (and many others -- judging by the numbers of patients in their efficiently and friendly clinic) that is Accuvision.

I needed glasses for reading which meant they were on my face the whole time at work but this meant I couldn't see the features of people coming towards me until they were there so if anyone smiled I wouldn't know, alternatively I could look over my glasses ,either way not a very friendly look! Shopping was a nightmare as I couldn't see sell by dates, nutrition values, prices, sizes etc.. so it was in and out of my bag the whole time for my glasses - ok if you didn't already have your hands full. I had glasses for reading but thev had started to get a little less sharp so I used 1.5 over the counter for this but then i needed my reading glasses to check the listings magazine. The result was amazing and when you try your glasses they are like putting your grandmas on when you were a child - they are just too strong for you. I now have 20/20 vision and don't look so stern to people who are trying to be friendly. I can't recommend Accuvision enough for their friendly staff, professional approach and after-care. They explained everything at every step and made me feel very confident in them ,which helped me relax and made the whole procedure a pleasure. If you are considering laser treatment I would suggest an appointment to assess your suitability as it costs you nothing and you will receive the most thorough eye exam you have ever had.

Comments: I have just had my second treatment of C3R for Keratoconus and have now had both eyes done. My first eye was treated in Nov 08 and at my last check up I managed to achieve 20:20 vision without correction, which is a fantastic result having had a -3.00 dioptre of astigmatism that the NHS told me there was nothing they could do about except prescribe glasses. I have found the whole team at the Birmingham Clinic extremely professional and any concerns I have had were put at ease at my initial consultation with Anthony. I was made to feel that my medical needs were paramount not the business objectives of Accuvision.

I have just had my 2nd year check up at Accuvision. I had a procedure called CLEAR LENS EXCHANGE with implants, perfomed by Chad Rostron. It has changed my life visually! I am still in wonder each day as I wake and see clearly, having been a contact lens wearer for 40 years. I have monovision, so one eye for reading, one eye for distance, no glasses needed. WONDERFUL. I had no idea that this treatment was available. I went initially for laser advice. Alas, I was too severly short-sighted, so the consultant (Vikash) suggested lens implants would be more appropriate. I have been treated so kindly, professionally and with great aftercare. THANKS TO ALL AT ACCUVISION...WHAT A GREAT TEAM!

I had Trans-Epithelial Surface Treatment (T.E.S.T) laser vision correction at the end of September last year and couldn't be more pleased. I'm only 18 and so thought I might be told I had to wait another few years before I could have the treatment but as my prescription had been stable for a long time I was told I could go ahead. The surgeons explained all the risks to me and then talked me through my options with no pressure whatsoever. I came back a few weeks later for my procedure. Trans-epi Laser surgery has a slightly longer recovery time so I spent a couple of days resting but with no real pain to speak of and felt my vision improve throughout the first week. By 4 days later I was able to see well and go about my normal life. By a week later I could drive again and now I've been told I have 20:20 vision if not better. I couldn't have been more impressed with the service I received before, during and after my surgery, not once was I patronised or treated as anything other than an adult. Furthermore when my parents rang with questions the accuvision team answered all of the concerns and ensured that I was allocated the surgeon my parents specified they wanted for me. Waking up every morning being able to see is something people take for granted but for me it's still an incredible experience and not having to bother with contacts at the end of the night or first thing in the morning is fantastic. Thank you so much Accuvision for making my life so much easier and more enjoyable!

I underwent Bilateral C3R with Topography assisted laser treatment in October 2008 after being diagnosed with keratoconus in July 2008. From the first day I attended the clinic until my 6 month post op check last week the care and professionalism shown has been nothing short of first class. My sight has improved beyond anything I could have hoped or expected. I have posted my 6 month treatment report to show what a massive improvement has been achieved. 30th March 2009 To whom it may concern RE: Mr Peter Jones (D.O.B 13/09/74) This patient underwent Bilateral C3R with Topography assisted laser treatment at Accuvision, under the supervision of Mr Chad Rostron FRCS. PRE-OP (16/05/08)RIGHTLEFT UCVA6/216/15 REFRACTION-0.75DS +2.00/-2.50 X 78 BCVA6/126/9- Topography scans show distortion patterns consistent with advanced Keratoconus in each eye. Following uneventful surgery there were no complications in post-op recovery. At six months we noted: POST-OP (20/03/09)RIGHTLEFT UCVA6/216/9- REFRACTION+0.75/-3.00 X 165-0.50/-1.50 X 30 BCVA6/66/6+ Mr Jones demonstrates a gain of 3 lines of Best Corrected Visual Acuity. He is now able to see better than driving standard unaided and sees 20/20 with correction for the first time in many years. Scans of corneal topography repeated at frequent intervals since treatment indicate that the cornea has now stabilized. His topography maps show that the corneal asymmetry has been significantly reduced in each eye. The C3R treatment has strengthened the weakened areas of the cornea to prevent accelerated distortion of the cornea and loss of vision due to Keratoconus in future years. Furthermore the Topography assisted treatment has improved the profile of the cornea reversing much of the distortion of the cornea caused by Keratoconus resulting in better quality of vision. Yours faithfully Joan Griffin Optometrist

I am 37 years old and have seriously been considering laser correction for about 5 years, but was put off after consultations to a couple of the Tottenham Court Road clinics that were just like commercial enterprises. They did not make me feel safe or comfortable about the treatment or level of service I would require. Being -6.75 and -5.50 I recently decided to look again at having the treatment and came to Accuvision. Everything has been so professional, the depth of consultation and their attitude gave me confidence to proceed to treatment. Added plus, the cost was actually half that quoted by the other clinics. I am now 10 days after treatment with 20:20 vision, no pain throughout, haven't even needed a Paracetamol. I have had more issue after getting a bit of sand in my eye some years ago! I cannot praise the staff and technology at Accuvision highly enough, and am recommending them to all my visually challenged friends!

Accuvision gave me hope when all other clinics had turned me away due to the strength of my prescription. They are really understanding and patient. They explained everything clearly and put no pressure on me to make a decision either way. I have worn glasses since i was 4 years old and my prescription was: R +6.25/-100x180 L +7.00/-1.50x180 Accuvision were very honest and said they may not be able to give me 100% correction and i may need glasses for reading/driving etc. That was fine with me as i had worn glassed all day every day for 30 years and wanted a better quality of life with more choice. Well the procedure was a total success and i now do not need glasses at all. It's like magic, i wish i had done it years ago. I can't thank the clinic enough
